    Helpful & friendly staff. The facility is very clean and the animals up for adoption are well worth the trip if you are looking for an addition to your family! I went to drop off some donations, which are always desperately needed year- round at rescue facilities. So if you are not looking for a furry baby, try & drop off much needed items for them. 😊

    Recently we had been left with a hole in our hearts with the passing of our beloved Tortie named Fudge.In order to make that hurt mend, we decided to head on over to our local shelter where there are many beautiful animals seeking out their forever home.Upon entering the shelter we were greeted by the receptionist who was kind, and quite frankly caring.After a short wait we met Katelyn who brought us back to the cat room. We were impressed by her knowledge and caring demeanor. She’s a true accent to the shelter.We walked to the room, I took a deep breath as the door opened up and from across the room, straight ahead was the most beautiful little Tortie with her paws outstretched. It was if she was put there by the Lord.It didn’t take us long to realize how special this little girl was and that she could become part of our family.We completed the paperwork, provided my identification, hubby went out to the Jeep and brought in her carrier. She now has her forever home she dreamed about.Thank you Brookhaven Animal Shelter for saving this little girl and bringing her to us.

    These guys at the shelter are AWESOME! So much love. I know the animals in this shelter are loved and well taken care of. I adopted a dog, Summer from there and she was so happy with them. Thanks to them, I was rescued by Summer.

    WOW....., Really if I Sat here and wrote all that I would like to, I would probably be sitting here until next week. Let me do say though that Cathy and Samantha TRULY the way I feel saved My Life. I have A LEGAL Registered Emotional Support Cat who is my ABSOLUTE EVERYTHING. He was Rescued last August THANK GOODNESS, at just 2 months old and broughten to me by a friend of mine, who is a Vet Tech. Not Only was I going through one of the hardest times of my life. But the Exact day he was broughten to me was a day that Could NEVER BE FORGOTTEN NO MATTER HOW HARD I COULD EVER TRY. Well this past Friday I called Brookhaven Animal Shelter In Tears Terrified that I was going to Have to Surrender My Best Friend. If it werent for Cathy And Samantha I would have lost the best thing that has ever happened to me, and also Saved my life. There is Absolutely NO WAY That I can ever repay them. They are two of the Sweetest, Nicest, most Understanding Amazing women I have ever met in my life. Thank you Again to the both of you I can never thank you 2 enough or Repay you both in any way. Thank you Again Cathy and Samantha you are both Incredible.

    Updated on 8.14.21Three years later and we are so grateful for Brookhaven Animal Shelter. We ended up returning there and adopted another beautiful kitten two months after we adopted Kimber. Maggie and Kimber are wonderful cats. No regrets!Original Review: I adopted our kitten from here, and I was amazed by what a wonderful job their foster families do with socializing them. Kimber is a perfect addition to our family. She is very playful, yet sweet and cuddly too. I also was impressed by the devotion the staff and volunteers have to all the animals in their care.

    Myself and my mom adopted Buster today. Sadly owner surrender, but what a great guy is he. I received a goodie bags and what an affordable adoption fee. So much less than the rescue organizations ask for. Give your county animal shelter a chance. Buster is shy but loves to play. Even though he is considered a senior at 7 years young he still has lots of pep in his step.

    Four years ago we adopted our beautiful boy Lester ( teddy was his cage name lol) He is the best part of our days. He is the best cat! And we let him know that everyday! Forever home, forever family.

    I found my kitten on june 18th she was only 6weeks old she looked at me i her I knew she wannted to come home with me we have a great relateship we are together all the time i lost my dog and cat for many yrs she fill my heart again still i am disable little money brookhaven gave me a bless new family member again thought a very great firend that help me thank you brookhaven animal shelter for haveing a best friend with no money god bless you The staff are very kind care about the animal they follow with a call to make sure the animal is doing well and you the place was very nice help with and questions you need to help fine the best pet you need. i hope they do that promotion again for people that love pets but just dont have lots of money. it not far if you dont have the 100s to buy apet when they so many that need loveing family and love. thank you again brookhaven her name is babybellagina she wants to say moewso mush thanks for giveing me a home im aspoil a lot update 4/27/18 babybellagina will be a yr old in may but got her in june we still very happy together she soooo spoiled my me and her grandmother we love soo mush she growing up in her owe personality update photo thank you again brookhaven

    Amazing experience! We have had our two new cats for almost two months now. They gave us a very nice tour, were patient and kind, and low prices. For two cats just $40 to be chipped as well. We got a 7 month old and a two year old who are amazing. What an amazing place would extremely highly recommend. They call to check on how your doing with your animal, extremely caring, knowledgeable and competent staff. Thanks so much!!

    Today we brought home our newest member of the family Jasper ! We had a very pleasant experience yesterday and today. All staff was friendly and very informative. They are very thourough with the process which we liked a lot they truly love their animals and want them to go to the best home. All the animals cages were very clean and set up very nice. All the animals looked healthy. Thank you !!

    Ive adopted two cats from this animal shelter on separate occasions. Staff is very friendly and the place is pretty clean. I love that each time we adopted, they gave us all the paperwork for their medical history, procedures, and vaccinations. They also gave us a list of vets that I could take them too in case something happened a day or two after I adopted them. They were very informative and thorough about the cats care and needs.

    Were seen right away concerning a lost kitten my daughter found in her back yard. Black and white extremely friendly about 4 months old and a white spot on his back leg and a little pink on his nose. Found owner.

    Fantastic place ran by fantastic people.Animals here are well taken care of. They are not put down unless something is severely wrong. They try to find homes for all pets brought in. Thank you for being such kind and wonderful people

    Good Samaritan found lost dog and took her there. So grateful. I recommend everyone get their furry friends chipped. Staff was quick to call and I was reunited. Arf, another great organization, was on site spaying cats. Nice, compassionate people!!!!

    Great animal shelter I went years ago and adopted 2 kittens beautiful well taken care of and brought me a lot of happiness 😊 the brookhaven animal shelter is clean sanitary and all the staff are very passionate about the welfare of each dog cat you name it. I was amazed at the second kitten I adopted I had to go back the next day and get her medicine the vet was very concerned 🐈 adopt kittens are so much fun to care for.. And dogs to but Im a, cat guy.

    Just picked up a kitten for my wife. The staff was very helpful and made the process smooth and enjoyable. There are a lot of great animals that need a home. The initial cost is not that high either. Kitten out the door was $125; tagged, chipped and neutered.

    Awesome staff, awesome program, they help participate in the local TNR efforts (Trap Neuter Release for feral cats). They are pretty great about adoptions and taking care of their animals. They also are of great moral character, a lady came in wanting to put down her four year old healthy cat just because she was moving O.o. I believe they convinced her to surrender the cat. Crazy.

    They are dedicated geniune and fully support a safe and well sussed forever home. The care that they give a pet whilst boarding is full capacity and love . I can not speak more highly of a center than this from all staff members to the facility and medical team. The volunteers are kind and compassionate . Thumbs way up !!

    I adopted a beautiful Akita from this shelter. It is the cleanest shelter i have ever seen. The dogs are very well cared for. The shelter has no dog smell at all. My beautiful Kayla came housebroken and loves everyone. They must be doing something right. Their shelter had many unoccupied kennels which means they adopt dogs out alot. A shelter with empty kennels is a good one in my opinion. I reccomend adopting from this shelter.

    It’s not the best shelter for animals BUT everyone is really friendly and they save as many cats and dogs as they can. The volunteers do what they can to persuade people to adopt and get dogs/cats out of their cages.I gave a very generous donation since my adoption fee was waved. Please give back to the shelter if your adoption is free.I recently adopted a kitten that was dropped off in a box over night and was terrified. It’s very easy to adopt which is great and all but I feel like there should at least be a verbal questionnaire or something because some people aren’t capable of taking on more responsibility just by what they say. An example would be how a family were talking about how their 3 cats had to get put down be4 the age of 5 as well as publicly saying they let them outside. [which could be fine if you are responsible but shelters don’t want to hear that.]

    This is the only place that helped me with baby kittens left in my driveway to die they were only 1 week old. I called everyone registered online to rescue animals not one call back out of 25 local rescue and or animal hospitals . Very sad!! Brookhaven you and your staff was wonderful and friendly genuinely wanted to help.. love you guys.in my recommended file forever!! Thankyou again!!!!!!!

    Ive adopted two cats from here. They give them full medical exams, spaying and microchipping. The staff always looks overworked, but theyre always helpful, and they genuinely care for the animals.
