Love this park as it is usually green through the year and has ample space to walk and sit. What I love about this park is that it’s never over crowded and yet it never feels empty either. The greenery is just stunning and given the size of the park you could totally escape the city noises for a bit and immerse yourself in some nature. There are a few areas to put down a mat and make a picnic or you could just use the picnic tables/benches in the park too. There is a public restroom and a kids play areas with swings, slides and also a water fountain where they can run around in the hot summer days.On Sundays there is a farmers market along with a donation drop off until around 3pm. The market is open throughout the year except during the colder winter months. The dog park is a good size and there are benches for the owners to sit down and hangout while the dogs are playing. There are a few beautifully sculpted metal sculptures. Squirrels and pigeons along with everyday birds can be see here through the year. There are a few good places to get coffee, drinks, pizza and groceries or even a proper meal to enjoy at the park a few yards from the park.

Great neighborhood park with playground, splash pad, grassy areas. Lots of kid birthdays on weekends.

  • Review 3 (2021-08-17 - Rating: 5)

I grew up in this park and have seen the many renovations and work over the years. Today, it is even better than ever, with a great community, well kept space, farmers market, and events. The fields are always welcoming and full of picnics, kids playing, and dogs with their humans enjoying the dog park. It’s one of the few green spaces in the area. Lots of beautiful old trees, flowers, and general beautiful landscaping. We love to lay on the grass and bird watch and have even heard of a resident skunk. The pavilion in the center of the park allows for some shelter, whether you are getting together with a group or need to get out of the rain. There is a palpable sense of community in this intimate neighborhood gem. Enjoy live music often played by local musicians, take and even enjoy coffee, food, baked goods, and ice cream all surrounding the park.

Great farmers market here on Sunday. There are lots of birds in the park that make birdwatching enjoyable, even in the late summer.

  • Review 5 (2024-10-02 - Rating: 5)

Went to Down to Earth Farmer’s Market on a pouring Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products and the kindness of people. I got free veggies & bread that were delicious. I’ll go back in a sunny Sunday for sure.

  • Review 6 (2020-08-01 - Rating: 5)

Really quiet and relaxing park. Very dog friendly with a medium-size dog run, and you can take your dog on the grassy areas. Great park for quiet picnics.

  • Review 7 (2022-06-10 - Rating: 4)

Nice bit o’ respite from Brooklyn’s rat race and status-olympics. Playground, picnic tables, arboret, this park covers several bases. The park’s denizens are a colorful lot.

  • Review 8 (2024-09-17 - Rating: 5)

Every day is a great day at this park. Love coming here with my dog, friends and even dates. Great atmosphere and well maintained.

  • Review 9 (2021-10-07 - Rating: 5)

Lovely local park! Adore the HUGE old trees and gorgeous bronze angel statue in honor of veterans. A perfect visit on a weekend. Stop at the nearby shops and cafés, then stroll through the park. Bring your friendly pup- they have a clean dog run here, too. Enjoy :)

  • Review 10 (2023-10-05 - Rating: 5)

My favorite park in Brooklyn! It is never too crowded, nothing weird has ever happened to me here, and there are plenty of benches and grassy spots for picnics. There is also a dog park! (There are no courts of any sort to play sports as it’s a smaller park.)

  • Review 11 (2022-02-16 - Rating: 5)

McGolrick Park is a family and pet friendly park. It is in a quiet part of Greenpoint. It is clean and I always feel safe in this park. It also has nice statues. I love the atmosphere and the views from this lovely neighborhood park.

  • Review 12 (2024-05-30 - Rating: 5)

This is one of the best parks in Brooklyn! Pretty huge for a neighborhood park, this place is the true center of Greenpoint life. Kids and families playing. Dogs romping about in the huge dog yard. Farmers market on weekends. Recently renovated. Generally clean, calm, nice and wholesome. Really pulls the whole community together

  • Review 13 (2021-10-12 - Rating: 5)

Fun for all! Farmers market was very 👍 new foods to try, organic vegetables, fruits ,mushrooms, pickles, breads, ice pops and more!!!something for everyone. Park is good for all kids, moms dads ,grandparents and friends!

  • Review 14 (2018-03-06 - Rating: 5)

Best park around! Great farmers market on Sundays. Great for a walk, run, jog, jaunt, stroll, roll, lay, lie, hop, skip or jump.

  • Review 15 (2025-01-08 - Rating: 5)

Look at what I found, Msgr. McGolrick. Or is it McGoldrick? McGorlick? Whatever you feel is right, except if you feel like an inebriated stumble through the park at 2AM. That feeling, it is not right.

  • Review 16 (2019-08-07 - Rating: 5)

This park is amazing. Particularly good in the summer. Great old trees. Great water features. Has a Sunday’s farmers market with limited but delicious options. Popsicle stand is always nice.

  • Review 17 (2018-09-22 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful landscape & trees. Felt an intimacy not available in many parks. Historical paviliion interesting with Sunday vendors a delight.

  • Review 18 (2024-08-26 - Rating: 5)

The only reason Id rate McGolrick lower is to keep everyone else from discovering this gem exists. Better kept than McCarren and without the overwhelming crowds, though enough to keep the place lively.

  • Review 19 (2020-10-04 - Rating: 4)

Love this park! Lots of kids but big open space so they are not too clustered. My son leaned how to ride a bike here. Nice playground.

  • Review 20 (2022-11-19 - Rating: 5)

Great sized park!! looking forward to when the renovations are complete in the spring

  • Review 21 (2022-03-06 - Rating: 5)

Very kid friendly but you can also find a quiet spot to read/picnic if you want as well. Lots of dogs around though so if you have an allergy/phobia it’s not the park for you

  • Review 22 (2023-01-31 - Rating: 5)

One of the most peaceful parks in Brooklyn, it has really good spots to take pictures, watch birds, or to take your dog for a walk

  • Review 23 (2024-07-04 - Rating: 5)

The park you graduate to when youre sick of mccarren. Great boutiques and casual restaurants and only a couple of them look like a vc/mba project. Sunday farmers market has leveled up. Superlative ice cream shop off the Driggs side. Enclosed little and big dog parks (they are...fine). Occasional thirty person bird watching group on the weekend (complete with screaming children and baying hounds...city birds are so jaded)

  • Review 24 (2024-11-11 - Rating: 5)

Farmers market on Sundays, two big playgrounds for small and big kids, very well shaded park

  • Review 25 (2021-07-10 - Rating: 5)

This is a really nice clean park.Very quiet family friendly. There’s a playground in a lot of space to walk it’s a beautiful neighborhood.

  • Review 26 (2021-06-06 - Rating: 5)

McGolrick park is a great park, having its own dog run, and even a farmers market every Sunday! Highly reccomended 🌳🌳

  • Review 27 (2022-05-17 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful farmers market every Sunday. I found especially great produce at the Orchard Hill booth.

  • Review 28 (2024-01-05 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful park to visit in Greenpoint. Nicely looked after and plenty of room for children to have a good time. There is a supermarket right around the corner as well. No public restrooms.

  • Review 29 (2021-06-02 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful park with rounded walks ways and tall trees. A great spot for a picnic under the shade. The maritime monument is fun to walk around. Usually quite with just locals enjoying nature. There is a dog pen and play grounds for kids. Must check out variety coffee for whatever caffinated needs!

  • Review 30 (2022-05-24 - Rating: 5)

Gorgeous, quiet, beautifully shaded park. Plenty of outdoor green space and grass to throw down picnic blankets and gather friends. Conveniently located between a number of groceries, so last minute items and beverages are a quick stroll away.

  • Review 31 (2024-03-02 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite parks of the neighborhood.. really enjoy walking my dog in this park so many dog owners people are always so friendly plus the Sunday farmers market is amazing ☕😁🦊👍🏼

  • Review 32 (2023-11-24 - Rating: 5)

Victorian era park with large tree-lined paths, benches, a portico, and flowers surrounded by apartment buildings and a few restaurants and cafes. This park is not designed for sports such as soccer or baseball like some other neighborhood parks -- its more for sitting and strolling, though it also offers a dog park, playground, and public bathroom, and there is a greenmarket every Sunday (year round except for a short winter break) and birdwatching sessions. If you visit, bring some seeds and nuts for the pigeons and squirrels!

  • Review 33 (2024-03-30 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful community space. Saturdays at 9, a free community bird watching club gathers to learn and watch birds in the park.

  • Review 34 (2022-01-13 - Rating: 5)

One of the most loveliest and tucked away parks in Brooklyn. great farmers market too!

  • Review 35 (2017-05-30 - Rating: 4)

Great park. The park is about four square block in size. The park has a decent dog walk, childrens playground and a nice farmers market on Saturday. Considering the resources that are allocated it (I imagine its on the low side), Id say that the park is taken care of quite well. I would have given the park five stars but held back due to the drunkards that conjugate and smoke adjacent to the playground.

  • Review 36 (2019-04-27 - Rating: 4)

Took a walk through the park this morning with my son, and visited the newly renovated playground which looks very nice. It is separated one side for toddlers and preschoolers and the other side for older children. Theres even a sprinkler on both sides, for when the weather gets warm, they can have the opportunity to cool off. I also noticed that they added more picnic tables.

  • Review 37 (2022-08-06 - Rating: 5)

McGolrick Park is a family and pet friendly park. Special area for pets.It is in a quiet part of Greenpoint. Couple picnic tables. Food store nearby if you want to make a picnic. It is clean and I safe in this park. Bathrooms are OK, work till late night. It also has nice statues. Playground and fountain for kids.I love the atmosphere and the views from this lovely neighborhood park.

Family friendly and dog friendly park. still a great park for the family.

  • Review 39 (2017-06-14 - Rating: 4)

Ive lived in the area all my life this was my park as a kid. Lots of area to walk run skate bike etc etc. They have a big playground for the kids with swings slides and a sprinkler in the summer. Lots of grass areas to suntan or have a picnic if thats your thing. The park is clean and well kept.

  • Review 40 (2023-11-08 - Rating: 5)

I went to the park with my fiance and now little dog a Maltese and went to the doggy area it was amazing how the dog play with all the other animals and the park was really clean it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed ourselves walking around the park and watching everybody with the animal there and people having little birthday parties and some areas either than that we had an amazing time

  • Review 41 (2019-06-23 - Rating: 5)

This park is one of my new favorites in New York. It’s well kept and neat but has a real natural vibe with scruffy grass and lots of trees, birds and squirrels. Great place for kids but lots of quiet nooks to relax in too. Dogwoods and hydrangeas blooming and this is love to me!

  • Review 42 (2022-07-14 - Rating: 5)

Considering what theyve done to McCarren park, I cant wait to see this park after construction.I hope they do something cool with the Pavilion.I also hope they replace the restrooms. They arent the original ones but they are 50 years old. Some of those very old trees should be replaced with new trees since a big wind storm has already done some serious damage.I hope noone was hurt with some of those limbs that came down on the last big storm.Theres a fantastic playground and nice sitting area. When I was a kid 70 years ago there was no playground.Only fields, paths, and benches.

  • Review 43 (2017-10-11 - Rating: 4)

Love the low key, family friendly atmosphere of this park. Large, beautiful trees and beautiful sculptures adorn the pathway. There is also a decent dog park - though there is no separation by dog size like in McCarren.Good for quiet time.

  • Review 44 (2018-05-28 - Rating: 5)

Great park, although it’s under construction at the moment. Great dog park for vaccinated and trained adult dogs, if you bring a puppy the regulars will tell you to leave until it’s trained. That’s not a bad thing, as a puppy owner, it’s a great thing. The benches are clean and the trails are kept clean by the parks department.

  • Review 45 (2019-02-23 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful park with beautiful old oak trees that change colors in the fall. It has a great dog park and a recently rebuilt childrens playground, one section for small kids and one for older kids. The are slides, swings and ladders to play on. There is a farmers market on the weekends and a beautiful center area with arches and a statue

  • Review 46 (2024-05-18 - Rating: 5)

This is one of the best parks in Brooklyn for dog meet ups, we enjoyed the kindness, friendliness, and the beautifulness of this park

  • Review 47 (2020-01-02 - Rating: 5)

Nice park since it has wood chips on the ground rather than gravel. Has a large, long side and a smaller side sectioned off for not friendly dogs. There’s a couple of picnic tables but no trash cans or bags distributed in the park.

  • Review 48 (2024-01-23 - Rating: 5)

This park is a hidden gem. Untrafficked by tourists, it’s the residential flannel wearing hot dad hangout spot. They’re done with their high end fashion days. They can’t be bothered. Just a flannel. A dog. Fast sunglasses. And a general air of “I can’t be bothered.” It’s a nice park.Oh and also beware of the roving child gangs. They’ll getcha.

    Top 10 Brooklyn neighborhood park

  • Review 50 (2024-02-03 - Rating: 5)

Love this park! Take my dog to the dog park often. Lots of space for running/ walking.

  • Review 51 (2023-05-10 - Rating: 4)

Very green oasis with a bathroom. Farmers market on Sundays includes compost drop off before noon. Under construction on north end. Mosquito-ey in summer (like Greenpoint in general). Used a lot for children but mainly in one area.

  • Review 52 (2022-06-12 - Rating: 5)

Nice to respite from Brooklyn’s . Great relaxing area . Playground , dog park , picnic tables, arboret, this park covers several things and the monument for Argonne angel.

  • Review 53 (2023-01-30 - Rating: 5)

The quietest of all parks in my opinion. Nice farmers market Wednesdays and Sundays I think. Oh and they filmed parts of boardwalk empire here just little fact.

  • Review 54 (2019-12-06 - Rating: 5)

One time I saw a person kicking leaves in the air for their dog to jump at and it made my whole fall.Great park. I never go specifically for the farmers market (this is not my neighborhood park, and there isnt anything so interesting as to warrant an inter-borough trip), but I like when the pickle stand is there.

  • Review 55 (2020-09-01 - Rating: 4)

Great local park, safe and clean. Small playground for the kids and lots of grass to have a picnic. Bathrooms are usually not super clean, but what can you really expect from a public restroom in a park?

  • Review 56 (2024-09-04 - Rating: 5)

I absolutely love this park and the angel statue in the middle of it. Only my thrird time there and I find it so peaceful, green, well maintained and decent enough (for a nyc public park) bathrooms. Looks like a nice dog run and good playground for kids with plenty of green for people’s blankets and chairs. Special spot ✨🙏✨

Pretty big park with nice renovated playground. One side for little kids and other for bigger ones. Play space for dogs. Patrolled by police. Space for the kids to run around and it is also good space to do summer little party.

  • Review 60 (2019-07-18 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful little park. Much nicer and quieter than its noisy neighbor McCarren. Fewer unleashed dogs. Farmers market on Sundays. Brand new playground with areas for all ages.

  • Review 61 (2018-12-02 - Rating: 5)

McGolrick was recently renovated. Is great for both younger and older kids, as there are two sides to The park is lush with beautiful oak trees and has gorgeous picnic areas. Plenty of room for ball kicking and game of kickball

  • Review 62 (2021-09-11 - Rating: 5)

Greeny, relaxing park, with a large playground for kids

  • Review 63 (2019-01-02 - Rating: 4)

They just installed a nice new playground, with lots of swings and jungle gym type equipment. There are bathrooms but pretty dirty like an average public bathroom. Beautiful Central monument, but no designated sports areas. There are also a few bums who hang out on the benches on the outskirts.

  • Review 64 (2019-09-29 - Rating: 5)

Best park in Brooklyn. Quiet, serene vibe, a great meeting spot to catch up with friends over coffee. Family friendly with a great play area and loads of room for picnics, parties and perambulating.

  • Review 65 (2020-09-16 - Rating: 4)

Hidden gem in Greenpoint. Most people think of McCarren Park when they think of Greenpoint and it certainly is a great park but hidden away just north of there is McGorlick Park, a small more secluded tree lined park. Just a great spot to be out doors and relax maybe do yoga, read a book or just sit under a tree. Dont expect skate parks and running tracks youll have to go to McCarren Park for that but if you want to avoid the crowds and noise those things bring then this is the park for you.

  • Review 66 (2016-09-14 - Rating: 4)

Its clean with the exception of Pigeon droppings on certain areas of the park. The equipments do show much wear and tear, need new coat of paint. Lots of trees in the middle of the park, so that is awesome, lots of shade.

  • Review 67 (2020-10-26 - Rating: 5)

Very family and kids friendly park, if ya wanna spend the day or a few hours there it is the spot. There is also a dog area, nice hood, deli, rest, supermarket, churches. Nice area, close to the BQE, Autozone, Mc Ds, Gas station on McGuiness Boulevard, oh yeah williamsburg, Bushwick, there are two other parks with skate rinks there also. These days with the internet one can search for places and P.O.Is.

A great lil park Oasis nestled in the quiet neighborhoods of greenpoint. They have movie nights too;)

  • Review 69 (2011-07-29 - Rating: 4)

This is a lovely little park. i painted the benches in here a year ago with an nyc charity group and my office. we were gruffed at by some of the old men that like to hang out in the park. lots of kids - but its nice to have some nature in your neighborhood! i really appreciate this park, but sometimes the kids are really loud, and the old men are grumpy!

  • Review 70 (2018-03-11 - Rating: 4)

Only been once, to utilize their dog run. Very nice, dog watering bowls readily available and the run is well maintained. Just a little too far from my Flatbush home. The city can do a better job distributing dog runs in Brooklyn. Were only the citys most populous borough.

  • Review 71 (2020-06-08 - Rating: 4)

Generally my opinion of the Msgr McGolrick Park is very good. I grew up across from the Park and have enjoyed it for almost 70 years. My exceptions to this would be the following. There is too many Adults that Sleep and Drink in the Park. Leaving behind temporary beding of all sorts. This also includes bodily waste and toilet paper. Look in the higher bushes to find the offenders. They also leave behind all their emptie containers, many of which are glass Whiskey bottles - most of which they break and leave VERY SHARP GLASS all over especially in the grassy areas where children and animals walk. My Dog has been cut more than once from this. Garbage pickup should be more often especially on weekends. People use the Park and think their parents work at the Park and will clean up after their poor cleanliness habits. Please pick up after yourself and your little party. Too many people sleeping in Benches that should be used for sitting - again too much drinking in the Park. Much of this is starting to cause a health hazzard, as you can see by the RAT HOLES by the Dog walk on the corner of Driggs and Russell. On another topic who is the parents, guardians or day care person that is allowing the child or children to continue to DIG ALL THE HOLES all around the Park. I have tripped a few times in the night time while walking my dog. Additionally, would people stop putting household Garbage in the Park for pickup. Who are you hiding from, use the garbage bins in your building. Stop the Children and their Adults from playing in and removing the rocks-boulders from the area where the rock feature is. There is a fence around it for a reason - YOUR SUPPOSED TO STAY OUT OF THAT AREA. I could go on, but tired of typing. Enough for now but start with these small changes. BB

Great weather yesterday and we brought the dogs to the park. Lots of friendly people .. and dogs... to interact with. The year round farm venders were on hand. I picked upsome really fresh kale, potatoes, spinach, carrots... blue ones too. Carlos was there selling his families Columbian coffee, nice organic cinnamon buns, two different cheeses, and a bottle of bourbon from upstate. All set for the end of winter chill.....

I have seen the park at its worst and that it was build back up to its full Beauty. if youre interested in seeing what it used to look like see a movie called going out of style with George Burns. Show a old mushroom slide that used to stand there in the park playground.

McGolrick park is the quintessential neighborhood park. Where McCaren and other local parks are overpopulated spaces of grass, McGolrick is six converging paths that lead to a center plaza. There’s not enough room for activities such as kickball but if you want to toss a frisbee or play catch in a picturesque, shaded environment, this is your park.

Native Greenpointer here! So dang old school as a kid we called this place Winthrop park. Cuz the oldtimers in our day refused to call McGlorick when the name change occurred. Anyways the place was great in the 70s and still cool now. Went back there recently and saw the new generation di great things with the place. Farmers market is a nice touch. Greenpoint aint the working class , Blue collar town it was when I was comin up but (if you can afford it) a great place to live.

  • Review 111 (2022-05-20 - Rating: 5)

I volunteer here quite often. Residents and visitora have to get way more serious about litter and trash removal.

  • Review 122 (2018-06-03 - Rating: 5)

Súper sketchoid location. Lots of odd noises eminating from within. Yelling sounds around 4AM, check. Should I cut thru the park? Totally up to you. If youre a fan of German horror flics, this is the park for you! Never a dull moment. You can eat a family sized halva and still be stuntin hard here. Hey is that a sheep? I cant really tell, you should try and pet it and get the 411. Why is she drooling?

  • Review 123 (2020-10-08 - Rating: 5)

Small and cozy green park in the middle of greenpoint. Benches, grass, kids and dogs area, supermarket and variety café nearby.

  • Review 148 (2021-01-20 - Rating: 5)

Nice park but needs regular tree pruning and lawn re-seeding. Fallen branches and tree limbs are left on the ground for weeks on end. Dog run needs wood chips. A little more TLC from NY Parks dept is definitely needed here! Also, more people need to pick up litter (besides me and the few parks employees they have).
