When we first adopted Lenny, he wasnt very well socialized with other dogs and prone to leash aggression. Gabriel came to us highly recommended and we have been totally astounded at this help. He taught Lenny how not to pull on the leash and has introduced him to a great pack. His socialization skills have greatly improved and Lenny even helps out with new shy dogs! I cant thank Gabriel enough. He and his team dont just walk the dogs - they really care for them and get to know them. When we moved to a new apartment, the first thing Jake said is Lenny is going to love this place... Always thinking of the dogs first! I love the emailed messages and map after each afternoon walk. They are the highlight of my work day!

We were first time dog parents and so had a lot to learn about handling a dog and Gabriel was super patient with us and our dog. We learned a lot about walking and controlling our dog and making life easier and more fun for all of us. We have a great dog whom we love tons and we are very grateful to Gabriel for teaching us how to enjoy him more and make him happier as well. The dog walking service is wonderful--our dog always walks with friends, which he enjoys and as a bonus, the pictures of all the doggies enjoying their walks are super cute!

Gabriel and the rest of the folks at City Dog Strut are amazing. Theyve been walking our dog for over a year. Hes not the easiest dog to deal with and theyve been tremendous in helping him with his behavior. There was a dog down the hall that he didnt get along with at all and on their first day they had them playing together. Gabriel is really easy to reach and super flexible when it comes to changing our dogs schedule. Id highly recommend City Dog Strut for training and walks.

City Dog Strut was recommended to us by our previous dog walker who felt that his behavioral issues were more than they could handle, and Im forever grateful for the recommendation. I cant say enough great things about Gabriel and his team! Our dog, Winston, can be a real challenge out on the streets. He is extremely reactive towards bikes and has never successfully mastered the art of walking politely on a leash despite attempts at private training, group classes, and lots of money spent on different harnesses and leashes. Gabriel is an exceptionally insightful and patient trainer and has worked with us to help Winston overcome some of his outdoor anxieties. We still have work to do, but the techniques Gabriel has shared have definitely made a difference, and he has been incredibly encouraging and patient along the way. Ive also had the opportunity to see Winston with his regular walker, Felipe, and have been amazed at the calming presence he has with our dog. Cannot recommend highly enough.

When I first met Gabriel in November 2015 my 10-year old dog Larry pretty much refused to walk more than half a block, at most. He has always been lazy and stubborn but his arthritis has made it more difficult for him to move around, and the fact that he wasnt exercising made everything worse. It was obvious from the first meeting that Gabriel was very experienced and understood how to work with my dog. Almost immediately Gabriel and Jake got Larry walking around the block daily. Within two weeks Larry had lost a significant amount of weight that the neighbors and vet were both impressed/surprised by. Since then Larry went from having to stop several times on that walk to rest to doing it nonstop. I feel like I got my old dog back. Hes lost about 8 lbs which has made it easier for him to move and for the first time in over a year were able to go on real walks. Gabriel also gave me tips on how to walk with Larry on my own which was helpful. I cannot say enough good things about his service. Larry now walks with Dany who is great and I love that I get an email every time the walk begins and ends, with a note.

Gabriel visited us before we brought our new pup home and has been our guide in dog ownership and our dog walker for the last 2 1/2 years. We tried other trainers who were simply treat dispensers. Gabriel helped us understand our dog and what she thinks. He has never missed a day or failed to answer a call when we didnt know what to do or how to handle our canine baby, who is, btw, maturing into a very, very good dog. Gabriel is indispensable. Highly recommended.

We stumbled upon Gabriel in Fort Greene Park working with another couple and their dog. My wife and I had recently adopted a 6 month old rescue with some serious separation anxiety issues, and we asked Gabriel if he could help.Gabriel is one of the nicest guys you will meet. Hes really understanding of your situation and tries to listen to you. He not only showed us how to help manage and work with our little furbaby, but would explain the reasoning and logic behind it. We did a lot of work, not only in home, but also walking along the street. He even arranged for us to have our dog meet with other dogs he worked with in order to help our puppy learn how to properly greet other dogs.I dont want to say hes like the famous dog trainer on TV, but he has such a way with dogs, one can hardly keep from drawing the similarities. His pricing is reasonable for the value you get with his one one one training. I highly recommend using him for any of your training needs.

We couldnt be happier about the services that City Dog Strut provides for our dog Charley. Everyone who has met our dog knows that shes a handful. Shes very sweet, but so strong and FULL of energy. City Dog Strut walks her three days a week with other dogs and Charley gets a chance to unleash her power and socialize. Additionally Gabriel works with the walker to make sure that Charley also gets instruction and works on a few of her behavioral issues. Working with City Dog Strut has been a very easy and convenient. We get updates about the walks in an email and lots of lead time and communication about scheduling and holidays.

My family has been working with City Dog Strut for over 2 years. Whenever we (humans) fall back into bad habits or get lazy we can always count on Gabriel to give us the appropriate guidance and direction to get us back on track. Gabriel quickly established a trust based relationship with Jax (2.5 year old French Bulldog) which allowed our normally anxious dog to be calm and relaxed. His approach and method to dog training is truly remarkable. No matter how big or small the task Gabriel has been willing to take on the challenge. Thanks to CDS Jax is a well behaved pup because of the foundation established at a young age. Weve been able to build on that foundation and we couldnt be happier with the results and progress over the years. Highly recommended!!

Arya, my bull terrier, is a bit of a racist. Perhaps racist isnt the right term, but certain breeds of dogs she wants to kill and eat for breakfast (Sorry french bulldogs, pugs, puggles, boston terriers, etc)Literally after less than 15 minutes, Gabriel had Aryas leash in one hand a French Bulldogs leash in the other, and both were walking calmly without a care in the world. The first few minutes were a little scary as my dog repeatedly lunged, but Gabriel had the situation under control... and minutes later the they were walking as if nothing was ever wrong... AMAZINGHave you watched Dog Whisperer? Well Gabriel is that good. He understands dogs, but more importantly in the short session I had with him, I learned what I needed to look for and how to properly correct my dogs behavior.I would give 6 stars if I could

We were at our wits end with our two pit-mixes before we found Gabe. Previous trainers showed us dog training exercises, but that did nothing to address the intense anxiety of our 3-yo male or the aggression of our older female. Gabe opened our eyes to pack dynamics, dog psychology, body language, and dominance through calm, assertive energy. Its like working with a horse trainer, the way he communicates with the dogs and gets into their mental space.Best of all, Gabe is in it to win it. Hes always on time, returns emails, and stays in the lesson until everyone, including the humans, have absorbed as much as they can for the day.We are so happy to have found Gabe, and we look forward to working with him again in the future.

Gabriel is a wonderful dog trainer, he helped our dog with severe separation anxiety. It took only a few sessions and Gabriel really wanted to solve the issue as affordably and caringly as possible.

Gabe spent a very long session with me and my 10 year old son.Β  I learned more in that session then I could have thought possible.Β  Since that session Ive been working with my 4 year old mix (that I recused only 6 months ago) and he has progressed nicely and is definitely becoming more and more relaxed, trusting and non territorial in our apartment.Β Gabe is simply a fantastic person and wonderful behaviorist. Β  He is definitely worth the money investment in his time.

Ive used City Dog Strut for both training and walking and have been extremely happy with both services. Gabriel is a wonderful dog trainer - he focuses on conditioning the dogs behavior (in our case our 2-8 month puppy) and teaches his techniques to his clients, following up with a very useful email summary. City Dog Strut walked our puppy in Prospect Park and allowed us to track their progress online, including being informed when they picked the puppy up and dropped her back home. Would (and have) recommend City Dog Strut without reservation.

We LOVE City Dog Strut! Not only is Gabriel an incredibly nice guy to work with, he is terrific with dogs. He clearly loves them, and he is a natural trainer. We learned so much from him. CDS also has a very handy online system for scheduling and payments. It was so nice to get emails at work that let me know when our dog had been walked. Very professional. We even left our Havanese with him when we went on vacation, and we never worried for a moment because we knew our dog was in such good hands. Highly recommend!

We loved walking with City Dog Strut! Our 1 yr old mini dachshund had the best time walking with the other dogs and became very friendly with them. Gabriel is incredibly flexible and easy to work with and the walkers on the team are well trained. We received an email with notes after each walk, and sometimes got pictures of the pups on their walks. Unfortunately we moved out of the neighborhood and had to stop using City Dog, and weve noticed a decline in our dogs behavior now that weve used other walkers. If Gabriel expanded to our neighborhood we would join the pack again as fast as possible!Website is easy to use and billing/payment is simple and fast. Would definitely recommend!
