Dina has been an absolute game changer with our pup! We did the two week board and train with our 8 month old borzoi and the results have been incredible. We asked Dina to focus on loose-leash walking because our girl was getting bigger and was becoming more aggressive on the walks with pulling and saying hi to everyone that would pet her. Dina provided Frannie with the structure and confidence that she needed to take our cues on walks. Borzois are notoriously hard to train and stubborn, but the results speak for themselves. Dina also worked on recall and structured play with Frannie, which were our secondary goals. We are so happy we found Dina and Mindful Pups!

Dina is amazing! My husband and I are first time dog owners in Manhattan and we were finding ourselves overwhelmed with the training process for our 5 month old puppy on our own. Dina came to our apartment and gave us a comprehensive training session, not only did she work with our puppy during the session, she showed us the skills and tools for us to feel armed with the knowledge to be successful on our own. Dina also thoroughly explained how our puppy thinks and feels, and how these tools help him learn, and understanding the why behind it made us feel confident in what we are working on! She was empathetic and met our puppy (and us!) where he is. Dina was wonderful and we are looking forward to our next session.

A friend (who is also a vet tech) gave me Dina’s number after observing my dog’s behavior at a recent event. My miniature dachshund is highly anxious and reactive around dogs that are bigger than him. He gets overwhelmed by stimulus and I needed help with his excessive barking at triggers. When I met Dina, I could immediately see the difference between her and other trainers and behaviorists I’ve used. It was as if Dina could communicate Biscuit’s exact needs to me so that I could best respond. The level of training that Mindful Pups offers is above and beyond- this is not just positive reinforcement type training. Their endless suggestions go beyond distracting him with tasty treats. They focus on correcting his issues (impulse control, confidence) so that he can be outside more comfortably. I recently ventured to BK for one of their group classes and again, it was better than anything or anyone I have tried in my neighborhood (UES). My dog Biscuit refused to leave the park when class was over. Kennedy was so amazing- it’s as if these ladies have a PHD in animal behavior. They’re super sweet and have a total realistic approach to dog training that is easy to implement into day to day life. I’m thinking Mindful Pups may need to open a second location in Manhattan soon!! 😉 There is no one like them uptown.

I couldn’t be happier with Dina and her incredible team! As a first-time dog parent, I was overwhelmed and unsure how to handle training, but they’ve made the process so much easier. Since starting, my puppy’s confidence has soared, and I’ve seen remarkable improvements in his behavior. I love how they focus on teaching basic manners and staying calm, which has really helped my pup feel more at ease.I also enrolled my pup in the Puppy Intensive program to help him feel more comfortable with his crate, as I couldn’t get him to go in on my own. After just the first week, he finally stopped resisting going into his crate! I was so relieved.The Puppy Foundations course was a game changer—it not only helps train the puppy but also equips owners with the knowledge of canine psychology and effective communication. I highly recommend attending their Pup Socialization sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays to get a feel for their methods; it’s a great way to start. My only wish is that they had more availability, but given how amazing they are, it’s no surprise they’re in such high demand. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my puppy’s care and training!

We had an awesome training consultation with Kennedy! She was super kind and attentive, and offered great advice for our dog Lilo that felt personalized and spot on. We really liked her approach, which mostly focused on fun activities and routines to build up our dog’s confidence. We’ll definitely be working with them again and probably taking advantage of their daycare studio too!(For context, we have a 8 month rescue that’s nervous around people/children, etc. and are trying to make her more social and less nervous. One day as I was walking my puppy, I passed a gentleman with his dog. They were engaged in training exercises and his dog was practicing incredible self-restraint. I was so impressed that I asked a friend in my neighborhood for a referral to the trainer she had used. For background, I sent our puppy to a two week board and train with another local trainer when she was 13 weeks, but we had A LOT more to work on.I contacted Dina from Mindful Pups and expressed my training needs and she suggested my dog enter her two week intensive puppy training program. On my first day, I dropped my puppy off and noticed that the “dog owner” I had passed on the street was one of the trainers at Mindful Pups.In two weeks, my family saw a huge behavioral difference in our puppy. Our walks are much more pleasant, her interactions with other dogs are far less stressful, and her ability to quickly disengage has grown significantly. She no longer picks things up on our walks and focuses on us instead of sniffing the ground constantly. She sleeps longer hours in her crate and walks herself in when she is ready for rest time.While dog training requires more than a two week session, I’ve seen incredible growth and we will continue to work with Mindful Pups to keep up with all that our dog has learned and build upon that.I HIGHLY recommend their services.

Kennedy, Dina and the whole team have been a huge help with our reactive puppy - helping give us the tools to make him more confident and independent, especially around other dogs and while on his leash. Mindful Pups have cared for my little Maltipoo, Ferris, for months now since I moved to NYC! I was used to UK daycare, where dogs are let to roam free and emphasized good play and routine. It took me so much research and effort to find Dina and Luca, but am delighted that I have! Ferris is so calm and regulated in their care and they have created a loving community for the dogs AND owners. I feel like they see the personalities of all the little dogs and really understand them well. I always feel like Ferris is so cared for and loved and recommend Mindful Pups to ALL my friends! We adopted a 4 month old puppy of strong herding breed lineage, and we needed a lot of support in understanding how to be good owners for him. I heard about mindful pups through word of mouth while walking my dog one night and I am so happy that I did. So far I’ve signed my pup up for a one-on-one session with Dina, and a single pup play class (90 minutes). We’ve had other one-on-one sessions with a different company which didn’t bring any benefit, however from the first 5 minutes with Dina I could tell this was different. She took the time to observe, showed things we can do at at home to better my dog’s behavior and gave clear explanations on “why” with the directions. The pup play date was also a great experience, the worker (who’s name I unfortunately can not remember!) was also very kind and able to explain how my pup did during the class and gave directions to help with his walking. Honestly the energy from everyone has been great. I look forward to future sessions at mindful pup!

Dina and the team at Mindful Pups are truly one of a kind! Dina goes above and beyond every single day for the pups and their humans. Our pup Monte has lots of energy and really no off switch. The structured days at Mindful Pups have been a life saver for him. He learns so much through their pack walks, play sessions, and nap time. I’m still shocked that Dina has gotten him to take a nap in a room full of dogs! Monte loves the swimming field trips and we love all the photos and video updates. There is no other place that gives your pup that much care and attention. We feel so lucky to be a part of such an amazing place… we’d be lost without them!!

After adopting my dog, I was worried about neutralization around dogs, interactions with people, and her overall anxiety, and in the matter of a few 1:1s and classes I came to know my pup and understand her needs in a whole way. She looks forward to her weekly walks and weekly daycare days packed with all of her new best pup friends and constant attention and training all while having fun! I sincerely cannot recommend MindfulPups enough!

Dina and Luca, and the rest of their team, are absolutely amazing. Can’t recommend them enough. The pack walk are enriching and great value and their daycare even more so. Their space is gorgeous, and my two-year-old dog comes home every day rested and also exhausted from all the play and walking. Dina is also great with private training, and one-on-one sessions. My dog is a sweetie, but doesn’t have the best habits around walking and “leaving it”, and we’ve made great advances in all areas. I would give these folks six stars if I could.

Weve had two one-on-one training sessions with Dina at our home and are scheduled to have more in the coming weeks. Dina is a dog whisperer. I think our dog would easily go home with her - he is attentive to her calls, learns quickly from here queues, and loves when she comes through the front door. Dina truly understands the psychology of the dog and their needs. I hope to continue working with her over the coming months and would highly recommend her to any dog owner that has a new pup and needs some early puppy training or older dogs who needs some habit correcting.

Our initial consult and session with Kennedy last weekend was super helpful. Our pup is about 1.5 years old and 110 lbs, so we are working on greetings for house guests and leash skills.She knows her craft and is very effective in communicating and demonstrating behavior we can follow along to help our pup learn and adjust his behavior. Being local to the neighborhood she had very practical and helpful tips for helping with leash walking and also shared her suggested daily routine for us and our pup.We are eager to continue our learning with Kennedy and Mindful pups and plan to join the upcoming weekend group classes as well as board and training over the summer.

Dina and Mindful Pups are truly exceptional. We were first time puppy parents with our bernedoodle, Lola. Naturally, we had a million questions. First, we went to Mindful Pups 4-week puppy skills course. Dina and the team were patient and professional with us. They helped us understand what Lola was going through, and how we can build a lasting connection with our new pup. After meeting Dina, its clear she loves her work and is a pro. We trusted Dina to take Lola for a 2-week board-and-train. She checked in with us daily to share Lolas development and photos of her activities. At the end of two weeks, Lola came back a new and improved puppy. She was substantially more calm, confident, responsive to commands, and made no fuss about going to her crate. Dina also did a home visit to see Lola in her permanent environment and chatted with us on how we can continue to be great puppy parents. From now on, whenever we travel and need to board Lola, Mindful Pups will be our first call.

MindfulPups is amazing! Dina started helping us even before our puppy arrived. She and Kennedy did puppy training with us at our home. Invited us to do puppy training group classes at her WONDERFUL facility. And Kennedy has also done additional one on one training sessions with us- both indoors at our apartment, and outdoors around our neighborhood.We even had to travel for a week, just after getting our puppy, Milo, and boarded our puppy with Dina and Mindfulpups. She sent us videos and updates of how wonderful Milo was doing with her! When we picked Milo up, he was happy, healthy, rested, and even better trained then when we had left!We, and our puppy Milo, love them so much. My rescue pup Max is quite reactive and perceives anything unfamiliar as a threat - as a first time puppy owner i was VERY overwhelmed. Let me start with this fact: Your puppy is like your child. You want them to have a community that loves and welcomes them; a village that supports and teaches them. Mindful Pups delivers this in spades. The whole staff is incredible, and Dina in particular is like the energetic auntie who knows your kids and loves them like her own. I swear our dog has an internal clock and he know the exact day/time he is headed to Mindful Pups.
