10/10 experience. Yana very communicative with me while my dog was in the board-and-train program, constantly sharing updates with me. As well, she was very attentive with my dog during the program and even went above and beyond to give me the tools I needed to continue to work on his training. Would highly recommend.

Yana is so wonderful! Yana quickly accommodated our high-energy 1 year old husky for training and boarding while we were on vacation. After only one week, he demonstrated significant improvements on his walks. We are so glad to see our pup so calm, happy, and relaxed, and we will definitely continue to implement the training methods that Yana showed us.

Yana is a gem! I reached out last minute with a request to board my dog. This was my first time boarding my 5-year old beagle who has separation anxiety. We did an overnight test run and things went well!She boarded my dog for 5 days and provided me with daily pictures and email updates. My dog loves her and Im so happy I found her. Please dont think twice about booking with her! You wont regret it!

Yana was amazing from the start when I first reached out for a consultation. She responded quickly and always communicated very clearly her thoughts, questions, and what we should expect. She took on my roommates husky for boarding on short notice with consideration for their last minute travel plans. And when they returned, she showed us some amazing results for even a short 1 week stay. The things we learned in our time talking with her are also now staples of how we behave with and around the dog and we would be happy to return for Yanas services any time we need her help again.

Yana has been incredibly helpful in getting our 8 week old puppy and our whole family off on the right foot. We were able to get our puppy to sleep through the night without barking or whining within two days. Daisy the puppy listens to and follows the sit command as well as commands to “wait”. Impulse control has improved greatly with just three sessions with Yana. Yana has eased our new puppy anxieties with insightful information and ideas for how to properly train and care for the needs of our little pup. We are so appreciative of Yana’s help and will continue to work with Smylish Dogs as we prepare our puppy for each new milestone. I highly recommend Smylish Dogs. Thank you!

Yana is amazing! In two sessions my dog went from being terrified and barking at scooters and skateboards to calmly running alongside them! I never thought I’d see the day that he had so much confidence in the park. I’m excited to see his confidence continue to grow with additional sessions so he no longer is so fearful.

Yana helped us when we brought home our 8 week old golden retriever. She was not only patient, loving and informative…. She truly took the time to love and care for our dog moose and taught my boyfriend and I more than we could have asked for as first time dog parents. She is wonderful, kind and such a sweet human. It’s no wonder she is so good with animals. We can’t thank Yana enough and I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area!!!!

I cant recommend Yana highly enough. We were getting overwhelmed because our dog has a very powerful lunge and is reactive toward other dogs on the leash - Yana was able to was quickly get to the root of why our dog was acting the way she was, and give my partner and I the tools to maintain communication and control with our dog while we walk. She gave corrections to both our dog and to us in how we were walking her. Its incredible: Three days ago, our dog would go wild barking and lunging even glimpsing another dog across the street. Today, she calmly passed two yappy little Yorkies on the sidewalk with only a little verbal correction. Walks have been so much less stressful for both us and our dog! I also really appreciated that Yana gave us skills to work on and goals to work towards. Shes amazing at what she does, definitely get in touch with her if you are in need of help with your dog!

By way of context, we are now raising our 5th NYC puppy or 9th NYC dog/cat/guinea pig/hedge hog over the last 25 years on so. In addition, our last 4 dogs were trained by some of the best - those that trained animals for film/TV; those that wrote books, etc.Given our experience with Yana over the last month, she is of the same class and caliber of all our other trainers. You can trust her with your animal of any age.I just hope that Yana does not soon move to Manhattans UWS/UES where she can command a significant premium to the prices she is charging those in the Bushwick/Bed Stuy/etc corridor that DeKalb Ave cuts through.

Yana, from Smylish Dogs has been a terrific help to us. Our little pug puppy, Linda,, was a bit late getting outside due to health issues and therefore had developed some difficult behaviors. Linda was a reluctant walker...continously stopping and refusing to move. Yana knows her dogs: she came up with just the right the solutions, utilizing both positive reinforcement and adjustments to equipment and now Linda is a happy walker. Also, Linda has been a picky easter and Yana had some helpful things to say about that also. All in all, Yana is someone I highly recommend and is a gifted dog trainer.

Yana has such a natural ease and experienced hand with my new pit-bull puppy Canella that it has instantly improved my relationship with my new puppy. Canella now sits on command and knows leave it and has begun to stop nipping as well as beginning to understand the basics of where to go potty. I had a friend over who was incredibly impressed with how well Canellas training was going at such a young age. I love the entirely positive reinforcement methods that Yana has begun teaching me as it has made Canella and I so much happier together, which was clearly noticeable after my first session with Yana. I intend on continuing all puppy training that Yana has to offer as well as calling her whenever I have a long day at work or am going out of town as she does such a terrific and loving job of taking care of Canella... Thank you sooo much Yana!

Absolutely the BEST behaviorist. So knowledgable, patient, through and kind to my dog. Would recommend Yana to anyone, and have done so. My dog took to her so quickly. Dogs know true dog people, and Yana is a true dog person.
