Had the best time with the kitties. They are everywhere and they love treats.Getting there was super easy as well as the process to check in. Half an hour is enough time to go around give them some pets and maybe find one to play with for a bit if you are not planning on taking any home (tho I can assure you itās super hard not to). They also have š°Wonderful experience! -

Very cute spot and a lovely place to spend some time with their cats and kittens. Cats are up for adoption and there is an approval process. I would recommend reserving your tickets ahead of time if you can because it seems theyāre strict on the entry and exit times. You have 30 minute sessions.I wouldnāt call it a cafe since they donāt really make drinks but you can buy bottled water or coffee. Love the atmosphere and their cats are so sweet and playful. -

This place has so many friendly cats. Some are spicy but theyāre still really cute. Thereās also other animals like bunnies and guinea pigs. There is even a turtle tank too. Itās a good spot for cat lovers (or any animal lovers really). Worth visiting atleast once -

Oh my goodness, I had so much fun here. Our household lost our beloved cat to cancer a few weeks ago and I was the only one ready to go⦠and I was nervous at first. But it was good for me in the end to see cats of various ages doing their meowy things, petting a few of them and giving them treats. Iāll definitely become a regular. -

I took my daughter to this place, because sheās obsessed with cat. When we arrived, I didnāt know that we have to have a reservation, better have one! Cause itās always full in the weekend. But, the staff were very nice and helpful they really made us felt welcome.Itās so relaxing, and my daughter just loving it, so excited!! Sheās the one took all the pictures, made sure no cat left behind. She wanted to adopt all these cuties. Get some treats, theyāll love it and following you. We already have cat at home. But, yes.. we definitely will come again. -

OMG...I am a Cat lady who currently does not have cats. I am also a person who suffers from depression and anxiety, I made a choice today to try and get some natural serotonin and the Cafe did not disappoint. I booked my reservation online (3 dollars less then walk in price). When you enter youre checked in, explained the rules and then given a little card with your end time and the few rules you were told. Theres a screen door with a worker who allows you in and ensures no kitties escape. There was a lovely mix of Cats, some sleeping, some playing and some just walking around. There was a decent amount of people in the Cafe but it did not feel crowded. Theres some light tunes playing and plenty of places to sit and interact with Cats. There were some really beautiful cats i got to meet. I will definitely be back. -

I thought it was gonna be like idk 6 cats. Man there were cats on every seat, every counter, every corner, every window. TOOOOOOO adorable. I had a great experience, make sure you buy treats with your reservation so you can really have a party! Haha. If yall see my boy Buick tell him I said wassupšāā¬ļø hehe. -

We visited yesterday to check out the cats, my husband and my daughter are cat loversWe made reservations online, we came a little early and it was raining and i asked someone from the door what time we can enter for a 12pm reservation.Someone came out and spoke to us, Idk who she is but she said that they were accepting walk ins and to make a line, so i said we actually have reservation, then she replied to keep that 12pm reservation. In my head if someone had reservation, should that someone be the priority vs the walk in? Anyway⦠my family and i just moved along and waited until its our time. Didnt want to ruin our family weekend. So we purchased drinks and treats ahead, they have cold and hot drinks to choose from, I recommend just buying the treats for the catsMy daughter enjoyed being there, 30 mins wasnt enough time for her, the space was just right they have several couches and benches for you to sit and they also have bar stools. If you are a cat lover, you will definitely enjoy to be here -

Amazing experience with all the different cats thats there along with other animals like turrets and rabbits, price is fair with $15 for 30 minutes but definitely wish it was a bit longer for $15, the workers there are also super nice and helpful with guides and rules, overall definitely worth a visit if you have the time with how fun and relaxing it is. -

Loved this place so much. Super cute and everyone is so nice. The place is pretty spacious. They have turtles rats guinea pigs rabbits and a chinchilla. I donāt think they are for adoption but you def can look at them. The cat are all funny in their own way. The red collar cats are the spicy ones. Hahaha. You get 30 min for 12$. Not bad at all. That is all I basically needed for my mental health. I already have a cat and work as a vet tech. This was a different experience because the cats are healthy and calm. -

Review 17 (2024-11-27 - Rating: 4)
The Cat Cafe is great - I have visited many times and recently adopted a cat from there. She is amazing and loving her new home. The adoption process was relatively quick and easy while scheduling a pick up date was a little bit frustrating. When going through the adoption process, I was provided with all of her medical records and told multiple times that she is completely healthy. During the pick up, a young woman handed us a plastic bag of dewormer syringes stating that she is totally fine, this was just preventative. As someone who has had cats before, I was confused as to why I would administer preventative medication. The cat cafe was NOT transparent in letting us know that our cat may have worms and that this medication was necessary. It wouldve been great if anyone at the establishment had let us know of this possibility and stressed that she in fact was not 100% healthy as we were told a handful of times. -

Great organization from the staff. Socialization rules were clearly communicated before beginning our appointment which made it so that cats and customers were most comfortable. The staff was super attentive and knowledgeable about the adopt and foster programs. Great little organization! Love that itās local. -

A fun date spot, I always recommend this place for friends in the Dumbo area! There are a lot of cats that have many things to hide in and play with. The catsā collars are colour-coded so you know which ones donāt like being pet / which ones are cuddly. All of the cats are adoptable which makes it a great way to meet your future cat š„¹ I look forward to visiting again -

The best almost hour I have spent in a long time. So many friendly cats -- many ages and colors. I was particularly glad I bought little treat bags. The cats really enjoyed them and were very attentive and clever about asking and getting their treats. We are in the process of (hopefully) adopting 2 of their cats. -
Review 21 (2024-02-21 - Rating: 5)
Lots of friendly and amazing cats! There were more cats than expected and 30 minutes goes by very quickly. I spotted some younger children stressing out the cats, ie. a cat tried to bite the kid because they kept on trying to pet the cat when it didnt want to be pet. Could keep the staff members a bit more spread out to make sure that guests are treating the cats well! -

Review 23 (2024-12-10 - Rating: 5)
A fun and cozy place to play with cats of different personalities - adoption-wise, its almost impossible NOT to find a cat of your liking. At the time I visited, they also were fostering some rabbits and guinea pigs. They also have stand-up comedy evenings every month, where you can watch the performance while the cats do their own show. -

The Brooklyn cat CafƩ is one of the most amazing cat adoption facilities I have ever been Associated with - The two kittens I adopted were so well socialized and acclimated beautifully to being rehomed with me. The staff has been incredible. One of the kittens had a cough and the Brooklyn cat CafƩ Were in touch with their vets and gave me the medicine to help my kitten get healthy. They remain in touch with me, even for some simple like asking questions about plants and other things. I have nothing but the most amazing praise for Naomi and her staff. They have brought tremendous joy to me and my family. -

The moment we came in were friendly, happy, beautiful cats all greeting us. It was like we died and went to heaven. If we could have stayed the whole day it would have flown by. This company has an amazing and important vision, helping cats in need, and every penny u spend here is towards their mission!!! The cats will thank you! The staff is warm and love talking about each and every critter there. We will be back soon!Paul and EV -

If you like kitties, the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is your happy place. But its more than a feline petting zoo. Every visit helps support the great out-of-view work the Cafe performs in rescuing cats, giving them excellent medical care when needed, and placing them in forever homes. Its a full-service cat center, and as a cat lover Im so happy to support them and so grateful theyre there! -

First time going to a cat cafe and I couldnt have been more happy! Staff were great and very knowledgeable. My boyfriend and I went right at opening with our reservation. I didnt know we could pick them up, so I cheated myself on that š.You can just tell they care so much about the cats, turtles in the back along with the rats, which were so cute. I love what they offer and they have reasonable pricing for entry, treats and adoption fee if you choose to adopt. Will definitely go back soon. Thank you again to the staff! -

There were so many cats here, and they were all very well taken care of. They had lots of space. It was very calm, quiet, and the setting was very cozy.Youre supposed to make an appointment ahead of time, but you can also try heading in and make an appointment on the spot.It is $10/per person for 30 mins and we were able to enjoy an array ofĀ snacks and bottled drinks. Its not so much a cafe as the name of the store says, but more like an open cage cat rescue with a comfy and homey settingOverall, my experience left me feeling motivated and refreshed. The cats I interacted with were so attentive and enjoyed playing with the toys I offered!**Do pay attention to the color of the collars as they will indicate how you should approach them -

I loved it here! I came with my partner to get him to touch a random cat (he doesnāt usually like touching pets) and the staff were so nice! They were all quiet and sweet, informative, but very funny. One of the cats bit me (which isnāt anyoneās fault, the nice staff said sheās known for being a cranky territorial lady) and I was sad because I thought she was cute and she was one of my dream cat breeds. She did let me pet her for a while before deciding she wanted to bite, though. My favorite pet in the store was Tom Holland, Trixie (I think thatās her name, she was a really small black cat that liked to hide under the chair and play with the stick toy) and the very nice orange cat that tried to walk out the door with us and sat in a chair at the front 80% of the time. Every single cat had a different silly name. I will be coming back once I get more allergy meds!! -

Review 33 (2024-12-01 - Rating: 4)
First time cat cafe-er here. No expectations going in, but was pleasantly surprised. The kitten experience was cute and lovely. The cafe itself was warm and inviting, and oh so cuddly. Would highly recommend for any cat lover or enthusiast. I only deducted a star because the attendant in the front foyer was rude upon our exit. My son held the door for 2 seconds too long, and although no cats were trying to get out or even in the vicinity, he had a full on meltdown and practically yelled at my son. If I didnāt have an Uber waiting outside, I would have asked to speak to a manager. His behavior was unwarranted and unprofessional. But other than that, it was a wonderful experience! -
Review 34 (2024-04-21 - Rating: 5)
I have a roommate and cannot have my own cat right now, so this was a lovely and needed replacement. The collar system is helpful to understand the friendly cats and the cats to be cautious around, I met one red collar cat who swiped at me š even after approaching calmly. so just be sure to check if things like that startle you. Will definitely be returning and donating. Thank you to the volunteers! this is such a lovely concept. -
Review 35 (2022-11-22 - Rating: 5)
We had a great time here! Tickets are timed, and they give you a sticker with your check-out time. If you go over your 30 minutes, you have to pay for the extra time when you check out. Definitely get the optional treats (which sponsor a cats vaccinations), as it will get you more attention from the kitties. The cats have colored collars to specify which ones do not invite attention, but most are friendly and loving. They also have turtles, rats, Guinea pigs, and a rabbit. Toys are provided to play with the cats and kittens if desired. Its not a large place and felt crowded at times, but overall we had a great time and my daughter is already asking to go back. -

Im from the UK and stumbled across the cat cafe by accident. They very kindly allowed me entry to fuss all their cats. Well worth a visit, especially if you want to adopt, as you get chance to meet your forever friend before committing to anything. I advise a visit during the week rather than at a weekend. There will be less people visiting and so the kittens and cats will be a bit more playful and active. I went on a Sunday afternoon and they looked a bit tired!.Well done to the brooklyn cat cafe and your volunteers. Great job. -

Great establishment for cat lovers - what a great cause! We had a wonderful time my 7 year old son wanted to adopt all of them! We wouldāve adopted Cornea Cat but it so difficult to import animals to The Bahamas! Everyone who it looking to adopt their next family addition should visit Brooklyn Cat Cafe the kitties are beautiful so is the staff! -

Excellent organization ! The volunteers inform you about the cats in the beginning. They are very clear about their policies. Each 30min is $12. They are kind enough to let customers stay over their alotted times and you can pay before leaving for the additional time (they tell you at the entrance). Helping cats get adopted in a unique way -
Review 43 (2024-11-12 - Rating: 5)
I had previously visited at their first floor and recently checked out the second floor expansion for their reading to the cats event with the more shy cats and both were amazing experiences. This is by far the biggest cat cafe in NYC with more playful cats. First floor seems always busy with human and cats while second floor tend to be on the quieter side with limited capacity. If you are looking for a more like chilling at a friendās apartment with cats vibe I highly recommend the 2nd floor. -
Review 44 (2021-08-29 - Rating: 5)
The cats are so cute!! They are so friendly and so cuddly and just fun to play with. They have so many cats to adopt. I definitely suggest at least an hour here! The place really takes good care of the cats. This is run by a non-profit with tons of volunteers who believes in the mission of the place! Definitely worth checking out when in the area! -

When I went they no longer served any food/beverages. However they let you bring closed container drinks. They sold shirts/magnets/hoodies and pins.If you make a donation of $5 you get a cup of treats to feed the cats. To my surprise there were turtles and rabbits.Very relax place, not too many rules. For weekends do book ahead they do sell out..$10 for 30 minutes. Buy your tickets online and sign your waiver. No need to be there 15 minutes early. The check in is easy, you open the door, tell your name. they give you a sticker and tell you some rules and who to check out with.the place is decent, about 3 areas. The front is a large window with many cat beds. Near it there was a mom and her kittens in an enclosure.the back area had a lot of the fishing toys.At 3pm most cats were napping so try to go earlier!I have been to 7 cat cafes across the US, this is one of the larger ones ( space wise). -
Review 46 (2021-12-16 - Rating: 5)
Itās a place where you can reserve a time to visit and play with rescued cats, and apply to adopt if you want. Thereās no food, despite being called a cafĆ©: itās really all about the cats.Very cute cats, lots of fun. I think itās worth paying a bit extra for treats. And the staff seems to care a lot: theyāre around to respectfully intervene if some cat (or human guest) isnāt behaving. They were also nice enough to offer us the full length of time we paid for even though we were 20 minutes late for our reservation. -
Review 47 (2024-10-09 - Rating: 5)
So many cute babies (cats)! I brought my nieces here as a treat because they are obsessed with my cat, and they were over the moon (so was I). Fun for the kiddos but also a lot of fun for the adults. I hope to take one home with me in the near future, my cat could use a sibling :) -
Review 48 (2023-07-17 - Rating: 5)
This place is lovely. The volunteers/employees are so kind and helpful. You can see they care about the cats. There are quite a few cats and kittens. You cant pet the kittens, but they are so fun to watch. Its kid friendly too! -
Review 49 (2022-02-05 - Rating: 5)
The cutest and most adorable cats/kittens ever! My husband and I are cat cafe veterans and this has the most cats of any cat cafe weāve ever been to (except maybe Japan). We like that this place let us feed the cats which was unique (the one in LES doesnāt). The cats were so friendly and I sincerely wish we could have taken some home with us but weāre still training our 10 month old puppy. Parking was also great - so it was easy to get to for us. Weāll definitely visit again when weāre in town! -
Review 50 (2024-10-29 - Rating: 5)
This place is probably my version of heaven. They have so many kittens that are VERY playful and love cuddling; the ones in the back especially love being pet (their fur is also incredibly soft.) The cats all have different colored collars that show you if theyāre more aggressive (red) and will need to take time getting used to you before a petting, or if theyāre generally safe to pet and comfortable around people (blue) which is something I appreciate. -
Review 51 (2023-05-26 - Rating: 5)
Bonus, our 4 month old cat got spayed today. B.C.C. reps did a great job from explaining initial surgery procedure to after care instructions, during pick up. Great price(low-cost), great incision, great location. Really appreciate this place. š -
Review 52 (2023-09-01 - Rating: 5)
Love this place! Iāve been here a few times with my daughter (sheās now 7, but first visit was when she was 4), and itās very kid-friendly. I was happy to see that they expanded! We tried out the ākitten partyā in addition to the 30 mins with the regular cats. Everything is exactly as described on the website. The kitten party is really cute! It was just the 2 of us, and we sat and played with kittens for 30 mins before heading back down to play with the big cats.I have to admit that I felt like $100 was a bit much to spend for an hour total, but at least it goes to a good cause. We canāt have cats (we have birds!), but my daughter is a huge cat fan, so itās great to be able to visit and interact with kitties. I would love for my daughter to volunteer here, but sadly you have to be over 18 (makes sense, but my daughter is unusually responsible. She actually reminded me about collar colors as I was petting a red-collared cat who ended up swiping me with his paw š).Please note that this is NOT an actual cafe! Again, everything is explained clearly on the website. The staff are WONDERFUL and kind. Iāve asked about various cats and they are all well-informed. They explain everything at the door as well, and now require you to wear shoe covers, which is for the protection of the cats.I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time, since they (thankfully) only let a certain number of people in at a time. Overall, lovely place with lovely people. -
Review 53 (2024-07-14 - Rating: 5)
It is a rare opportunity when you get to be amongst several animals, in this instance cats, as they go about their day. The cats meander around, looking for engaging humans to hang with, in between their seemingly perpetual nap times. I saw younger cats annoying other cats just for the heck of it and also many cats loving to play and be petted. The environment is well supervised inside a former bar and restaurant. The superb staff offers insights into each cat such as their energy level, their temperament, their age, and what sort of previous stimulation theyāve had in the day. All the cats may be adopted after a thorough vetting application and personal interview. The Cat Cafe commits itself to finding the correct fit between each cat and their human. The modest $15 charged for a 30 minute visit is well worth your time to get your ācat fixā and you may just develop a lifelong relationship with a fellow feline. -

This is not actually a cafe but there are definitely cats! You pay for 30 minute time slots where you can just wander around inside with the cats. They were of course being cats so most of them were hiding or sleeping out of reach but there were still a bunch in petting range. You can buy a bag of treats for $5 which helped lure the more shy fellows closer. If you go expecting a room just full of cats being cats and not necessarily wanting much to do with you, you will not be disappointed. Exactly what I needed today! Seems like they are doing good adoption work too :) -

Review 59 (2024-06-17 - Rating: 5)
What a great time with the cats! There were many cats roaming casually, some cats were resting in cat beds or on furniture. Several were being playful. The litter boxes were nicely disguised. Food was available in several places. The facility is very clean and the staff were very kind, but firm in their expectations of visitors. The guidelines and policies are clear. I had a great time snuggling with a couple of the kittens. I did not partake in the cafe part of the business because I was too busy enjoying and gushing over the cats. I look forward to visiting again! -
Review 60 (2024-09-04 - Rating: 4)
Staff was very nice and explained thoroughly with a selection of cute cats! Its $15 (for walk in) per 30 minutes, which is kind of a lot imo...1 hour would make more sense. Its also not really a cafe? There was sparkling water, merch and treats to buy for extra. I just wish the inside layout was better, the back room is nice because theres more space. I came on a Friday afternoon, there were quite a few people and its kind of hard walking in a narrow row trying to find cats to pet. But I saw they have over 500 adoptions, yay! -

BBAWC is a wonderful organization doing good things in Brooklyn. I was a fan of theirs years before the Cafe opened. The CafĆ© is a great addition to the neighborhood. The Cafe is divided into different areas. There are rooms for kittens, FIV and FeLV cats. The regular adult cats are in the cafĆ© area. I did a half hour with the kittens and whats not to love? Little bundles of energy everywhere. š I also did a half hour at the cafĆ© and mingled with the resident cats, played with a couple of them and offered treats. Its a wonderful spot to spend an hour and do some good while youre there. I think families with older kids would find it fun. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. Will be back again. -

All Volunteers are incredible, they identify the cats by collar so you know if they can be feed during your visit or not. The space is very well kept and when you get to the cafe they explain everything you can or you cannot do. Iād really love them to have a espresso machine I really wanted to have an iced coffee while my daughter enjoyed the felines. Youāre charge right before after leaving and you can get a treat bag for five dollars. -

So the first time I attempted to go to the Brooklyn Cat Cafe, it was a full house and I was advised to make a reservation since the wait would be for an hour. It wasnt that difficult to make a reservation but they do require you to pay on the spot, which is totally fine!As you step in, youll see an array of snacks you can take in and bottled drinks. Its not so much as a cafe as the name of store says, but more like an open cage cat rescue with a comfy and homey setting. The space was large and there were tons of cats everywhere- ranging from young newborns (who are displayed away from visitors and with a parent) to elderly cats. The staff warned us about some cats with a red collar, indicating they do not appreciate being touched anywhere below the neck but my friends encountered many that were so sweet and friendly! One of them actually fell asleep in my friends lap! There was so many active cats (mostly the young ones) and also so many who were so sweet, friendly and calm. You could choose between playing with them or sitting down while petting them.I do have to say that EVERYONE should take consideration and pay closely attention to every little behavior from all the cats. Many of them can be over stimulated, causing them to snap at you or another cat. This is very cmon behavior within cats so dont be alarmed! Just leave the cat alone if they snap at you, or if they snap at another fellow feline, direct their attention elsewhere.Overall, my experience left me feeling motivated and refreshed. The cats I interacted with were so attentive and enjoyed paying with the toys I offered! So much so that there were 5 cats that I was playing with all at once! The only concern I do have to state is that there isnt very much ventilation, so you can smell the stench of clumping cat litter that it becomes suffocating. -

Its my first time to visit cat cafe. There are few questions confuse me before the visit.First, are there cats? yes, a lot of cats.Second, is there coffee? no...Third, can you play with cats? absolutely. actually, you can feed them also. dont forget to bring quarter. you can buy some snack for cats, but limited as one quarter per person.Well, this is the place you must visit. workers are very friendly. cats are calm, most of them. just enjoy to pet them. you can adopt one if you like. there are applications online. -

I actually did go there for the kitties but was surprised to find they also had rabbits, guinea pigs, a pair of turtles and most surprisingly rats! As a rat owner myself and a fan of those other animals too, it was great to see. Most people were crowding around the cute cats (and rightfully so!), so I had more time to interact with the rats. Hamilton, the brown rat is especially friendly and you can hold him, have him sit on your shoulder or snuggle in the bonding scarf. I literally witnessed a child go from saying ew to wanting a pet rat within two mins of holding him. Its also interesting how they are using rats to socialize kittens that are FIV positive. So for rat fans pining for a rat cafe, this is the place to go for as long as they have rats. For cat fans, this is absolutely a great place to go. -

Awesome. The manager (I assume she was the manager) talked down to us a bit, as if we couldnt understand basic rules. But, once we got inside, it was alright. The cats were nice. I really like their mission. There seemed to be plenty of toys for the cats to play with and plenty of places for them to climb on and rest at. -

The BCC is one of the nicest and best organized cat cafƩs Ive been to. The space is enormous and beautifully decorated in upcoming, family-oriented, Brooklyn Heights. They are a non-profit and dedicated to placing the animals in good homes. Unlike many cafes, they have a philosophy that believes young children should learn how to behave around animals and handle cats, so they are very kid friendly. Make sure your child understands not all cats want to play, be picked up, or definitely not squeezed! Because of health ordinances they do not actually serve food or drinks. Everyone is super friendly, informative, and most of all the animals are well cared for. They also have the largest bunny Ive ever seen! -

Such cute and friendly cats, none were aggressive! Donāt spend money on drinks and snacks, instead spend it on cat treats. Because you only get casual stuff you can get else where and itās not really an eating environment, itās much more enjoyable feeding the cats. -

Lovely place to wind down and pet the kitties. From the name I expected a different environment, its more of an interactive shelter where you can adopt cats if youre really interested. Plenty of toys, beds, and hiding places for cats, dont be surprised if you looked up and saw a cat watching you or sleeping. Admission is cheap, they charge per half hour the minimum, friendly staff. -

The Brooklyn Cat Cafe is absolutely great. Keep in mind that itās not an actual cafe, instead just a cozy place to hang out with cats. You sign up on their website for 30 minute times for $10 each, sign a waiver, and youāre set. Visited this exciting place last month and would for sure go back! Cats of all ages so happy and ready for love. The 30 minutes was perfect timing for the experience. While we were there a family was looking to adopt which was really nice to see. Staff was nice and made the process easy. They are very strict on the exact time you go in (if you book at 2pm you wonāt go a minute in before 2) and if you should be out by 2:30pm you better be out by 2:29pm. Could have been a bit more laid back in that aspect as checking in due to the employee could take a few minutes away from your visit. That is my only suggestion. Other than that if you are an animal love this is worth it! -

The staff were exceptionally helpful, answering all questions with patience and sharing insights about each catās personality and needs. Review 102 (2023-08-10 - Rating: 5)
We love the Brooklyn Cat Cafe! We visited twice recently and had a great time interacting with several of the kitties there. The main cafe area is spacious and comfortable with many places for cats to play, hide, and sleep. Admissions are limited to avoid overcrowding and reservations (while not strictly required) and strongly advised. Staff is pleasant and there are CATS! EVERYWHERE!1!What more could you ask for? š¹While some cat cafes cater to feeding and entertaining humans, with roaming felines more as ambulatory decor, the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is on a mission. With few exceptions, the cats youll meet at the cafe are available for adoption. The adoption application is thorough without being tedious, these folks just want cats in good homes. We wanted to help in a more impactful way too, so we also signed up to their foster network and are currently watching our first crew of kittens.Whether you just want to pet some kitties for an hour or are looking for a lifelong companion (or two! Kittens are only adopted in pairs) the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a great place to support. -

I adopted my 2 kittens here and it was a seamless and lovely experienceAdd onI now foster for the cafe and it is an amzing way to give back to the community. Not sure how anyone could leave a negative review about an organization built on charity and volunteers š„¹ its about helping snimals not about lack of beverages or service -

I absolutely love and recommend Brooklyn cat Cafe, with everything in me.They were so kind and caring, and I had to bring all three of my cats that I adopted. One day after another, because that was the only appointment they had available. And the very last day of course, my daughter let the cat out of the cage in the car and it crammed itself under my backseat, and they had two of their lovely volunteers/workers come help me get the cat out from under the back seat. This is just kind of off subject but I just want everybody to know that they are the absolute sweetest people, and they truly care about the cats and animals whether youre getting your cat fixed, or shots.Or if youre getting a cat from adoption here, the animals are in good hands and I guarantee the ones youre going to get from them are going to be the best.PS. My cats are all healed up a week later from their shots, chips, and surgeries.Top tier vets and workers! šššThank you guys š„ -

Mary was really patient speaking with me about how to foster cats. She answered all the questions I had regarding being a foster cat parent for the first time. They have an old lady cat name Noot (I am probably spelling it wrong) that I came to love at first sight and maybe you will see her if you decide to visit. Shes tiny and adorable!! I wasnt sure what to expect from going to this class but I sure got more reassured and confident for fostering one. -
Review 112 (2017-04-17 - Rating: 5)
The cats here are so fun to play with. There are plenty of toys and nice comfortable chairs to sit on. Like the other reviewers have said, the focus is more on the cats and less on the cafe; there arent really many drinks to buy. However, this doesnt really matter since the cats are what you came for anyway right? -
Review 113 (2023-07-03 - Rating: 5)
It was easy to schedule a reservation on their website and the waiver was quick and easy to do as well. Check-in was fast and simple and the staff was friendly. It was nice to be able to interact with the cats and I like that they had toys to stimulate the more active ones and color-coded which ones preferred more space and which ones had allergies. Pleasant cafe to visit with a friend who likes cats - and the cats are adoptable!10/10 would recommend and plan to visit again. -

This is an amazing place run by totally dedicated and caring individuals! They adopt out over 700+ cats a year and rescue so many friendlies who have been dumped. They operate a low cost spay/neuter clinic which is available to ALL NY residents! They also TNR hundreds of feral cats who are then returned to the areas they came from (they do NOT want to be around humans) and socialize the ones who are young enough to turn. They now perform low cost dentals for ferals and friendly rescues as well. They are an absolutely invaluable asset to NYC. -

The second we went inside, my daughter was immediately adopted by Salvage, who claimed her as his own for the remainder of the visit. She didnt mind and was very happy with all the attention. š„°I will say this, though: Ive been training with kiddo to be around different pets/animals all her life, so she already knew how to act and behave with the cats, both friendly and spicy alike (i.e. let them come to you first, dont scream/be loud, do not make sudden movements, to treat them with care, etc). If your kids are not well-versed or dont have pets of their own, this would not be a good experience for them or the cat hosts, so maybe bring them when theyre older. -

Review 149 (2023-03-26 - Rating: 5)
The Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a safe, clean, well run sanctuary for kitties waiting for adoption. The rainy Saturday afternoon I came was booked solid and while it felt a little crowded, it was a manageable level of busy for kitties to feel safe, take a nap, and scamper about. I think there were 15 kitties about, sitting on the bar, hanging out in the rafters, taking naps on cozy beds, and strutting around. Some cats are very friendly, some are shy and hide a bit. Remember that youre there to help the cats get socialized and like humans, dont expect them to crawl in your lap and chill. There are vases around with rainbow string wands, jingle balls, and you can buy cat treats to sweeten up the fuzzy friends. They staff and volunteers rotate the cats during the day so no cat gets overwhelmed, which I appreciated. There was a mama with five week old kittens in the front, in a plexiglass case to fawn over (but no touching). They also had a very chill rabbit, guinea pig, a family of rats, and a turtle/fish tank. There is a private room if youre looking to bond with a particular cat youre hoping to adopt. You can buy drinks here, but not food. There is no age limit for kids, but I highly recommend you have a good long talk with them about what being a nice human looks like. Restroom was clean. The Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a 501(c)3 non-profit so all proceeds go toward cat care. If youre the volunteering sort, they have opportunities to give your time and affection too.Highly recommend reservations online in advance. Slots are 30 minutes. If you want more than one slot, you have to check out multiple times, which is not UX friendly, but I guess it also helps them with turnover. -

Where do I even begin?! I am obsessed. The hour of playtime is most definitely worth it and the cats are all so cute, I wanted to adopt them all. The cats are well respected and the employees made sure that all guests respected them too. The cats are clearly well taken care of!!! 10/10 recommend -

I love that place so much! For my first 3 years in NYC, I would come here every once in a while to get my feline fix. The volunteer staff were always so welcoming, the place is very clean and well kept and the cats are happy and healthy. I just adopted from them my baby boy Fritz and the whole adoption process was very thorough but smooth. They really take amazing care of the cats and do holy work. I cant stress enough how much appreciation I have to that establishment! Keep up the amazing work yall. -

I adopted my two cats from the cat cafe in 2018 and had a stellar experience. Recently my sister adopted two cats from the cafe-one of whom needed some specialized medical attention while I was caring for the cat while my sister was away. The cat cafe provided incredible support to me in helping care for my sisters cats during this acute medical crisis and assisted me in providing the needed treatment with compassion and kindness when they absolutely had no obligation to do so. They go above and beyond. -

I visited the Brooklyn Cat Cafe today and absolutely loved it. I met a lot of the cats I have come to know on their Instagram and loved playing with them. I originally booked a half hour but decided to book more time once I got settled in and met some of the cats. I went pretty much right at opening and that seemed like a good time to meet some of the shyer cats. -

Very nice place. Friendly staff and got all of the time that we paid for. Kitten party only had 2 kittens but its honestly more than enough. Any more kittens and there would not be enough attention you can individually provide to them. Overall very happy with the place. Would come back again. -

Took us a long time to mature to adopting a pet, we have two kids (5 and 8). I have had a previous bad experience with an ASPCA shelter we got our last cat from so I was very happy to find a cool alternative. We booked a session at the cafe (I think it was $10 per person for 30min you can extend if you want on site) more to see how kids will interact around cats. We did no go in planing on adopting sooner rather weāre thinking of it for later. The universe had other plans and we fell in love with a 6 month old kitty. Our visit was on Saturday and by Friday following week we had two cats moving in. Application is very in depth and it does ask for 3 references and expect them to be contacted, took about 5-6 days to go through. The cafe was very nice and cozy, you can tell the cats were comfy and happy there. You can feed them treats, and they have toys available to play with them. Overall the adoption process was awesome, I felt supported they contact you with a sponsor whom you can email if you have any questions. Same goes with any medical questions regarding the cats, ours had an extended cold and they helped us deal with it offering their vet services. You do a trail with the cat/cats and if it doesnāt work for some odd reason you have the option to find a better fit etc. I liked that a lot too.Kittens up to a certain age are only released in pairs, as they just do better that way socially and learning wise. I think total for the two kitties we got was $350-$400, it is a donation that goes towards paying for the services the cats received here. They are neutered/spayed, get their shots, regular vet care and most of all dewormed and flee free! It sounds like a lot but is not if you ask me.Thanks cat cafe for our beautiful furever kitties! -

Great experience...made a walk in appointment to spend 30 minutes with my girlfriend, and her 2 children. We were accommodated as we were unaware we needed to make an appointment online. We had traveled from Delaware to visit this Cat Cafe, since my girlfriends daughter loves cats. This is not an actual cafe. No food or drinks allowed. The cats are the main attraction, and you can purchase food for the cats. If youre in to cats then this is the place for you. Youll love it. Im not a cat person, but interacting with the cats inspired me to be more welcoming.
