    My little kitten had an emergency, and I didnt have enough money to cover the full cost of the required surgery. However, the staff at the clinic were amazing and very kind. They opened a door for me, and I am truly grateful for their understanding and support. Although things didnt work out as I had planned, I am very happy to know that the kitten has found a forever home where she will be well taken care of. Thank you so much for everything! I will definitely bring my other cats here in the future.

    Staff were so knowledgeable and friendly! From my first phone call to get scheduled, to the second i walked in the door, got in the exam room and walked out it was such a friendly and comfortable experience. I’m a first time pet owner and get nervous about my fur babies but this vet put me at ease and explained everything done for me. Cannot recomend this office enough!!

    The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Dr Hider seemed competent and warm and was terrific with my 2 dogs, one a large rambunctious puppy .I had no issues since we were just establishing ourselves with the practice so can’t judge how they would handle them but there was an emergency while I was there and everyone seemed calm and ready to help.The appointment was on time. The office was clean,so much so that the vet sat on the floor to take care of my dogs.

    We took our sick cat to Buff Small Animal hospital for the first time. We called first thing on a Monday morning and they were able to get us in that same day . My dog has been a patient at Buff Small Animal Hospital for 8 years and we have always been pleased with care we received . This visit was a bit different because our little cat (Fatty) was ill. Dr Hider was amazing. So patient and listened to all our concerns. Went over and beyond to help our sick kitty. I am pleased to say the treatment seems to be working and our little Fatty is showing improvement. Everyone in the office is kind and caring and truly goes out of their way to help and answer all questions. It is a bit of a drive for us but I would never go anywhere else . They also offer great pet insurance programs that I always recommend to everyone because it always ends up paying for itself and saves you $$ . I have had pets for 40 plus years and have been to many different veterinarians but none has ever come close to the level of compassionate care we receive at Buffalo Small Animal Hospital!

    I took my Smokey(Cat) not knowing that I needed an appointment because he had been scratched by another animal. They were wonderful! I honestly thought they were going to turn us away but instead they took him and gave him the best care ever. Even in his condition he felt comfortable and at ease. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

    I had to bring in one of my cats for a flea treatment and shots. This is my first time here in about 15 years and then I had a dog. Very pleased with the staff and the new digs. I will be bringing in my other cat next week so Ill have more to express then.

    I didnt even get an appointment or enter the building of this animal hospital, but I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation with them. When I was nervous about my dogs limping I gave them a call to inquire about pricing, but the sweet woman on the phone eased my worries and gave me suggestions on what I could do at home and to seek an appointment if I was still worried about it. Her tone and ability to reason with me and give me advice at no expense other than just pure kindness shows me that I could trust this hospital. The prices she stated seemed fair too! This place will be hearing from me for any future appointments!! (My dog is okay too! She was right to wait for a bit giving his symptoms, he just sprained it)

    Been coming here for years. My young lil tuxedo cat, Boots, comes in for routine shots & exams. They were super with her especially on her 1st visit when I’d adopted her as a stray. She needed a more thorough exam : blood work & more to make sure she was in good health. They were all so supportive about my “new addition” to the Family. She checked out great & continues to thrive.Over the years, they were excellent with my older cat, Sunnie ( the big fluffy mainecoon), too. He became diabetic in his senior years, & was on insulin, under their care. All the vets were excellent & took the time needed to explain his blood work to me, our next course of action & all the rest. The office staff has always been kind & friendly. So important, especially when a pet parent is concerned about their fur baby’s health. Rebecca, the office manager, is a gem ! So caring & helpful. She was especially compassionate when the time came for me to bring Sunnie in to be put down when he was almost 15. I’ll never forget it. They were all wonderful & made a huge difference for the better. New location is convenient and very nice. Thank you, Buffalo Small Animal Hospital ! Grateful for you! Liz

    I brought my 5m old kitten simba here for a emergency visit for a broken leg and the staff was so caring and friendly and withe prices are so great we wound up getting him fixed and everything all in the same visit. I highly recommend this place there amazing!!

    If I could give 10 ✨ stars I would. Staff was amazing From the moment we pulled up in the parking lot. My pity, Hope was very nervous and scared. One of the Staff came out and helped bring her in the office. Beautiful,so sweet and kind to me and Hope. The doctor was great too! Amazing ! she gave Hope treats and made her feel comfortable. She also give me a lot of information on how to better care for Hope. I thank you very much and appreciate all the staff . You guys really rock !!!

    The service here was unreal. The Cat Lady was so helpful and so knowledgable and everyone was so nice. They were very understanding and really listened to what I had to say. This was little Milos first trip there and I feel like he is now part of the family there. I took him for just a Health and Wellness Check up and I think it was so incredibly helpful. This will definitely always be my vet for the life of my kitty kitty

    By the grace of the gods over head someone ended up cancelling their appointment the day we had to rush our little girl in (we have never been customers) and every one we called couldnt help these guys did!! They addressed the issue and got her in for emergency surgery THE NEXT DAY!!! they saved my dogs life by having that cancellation and taking us in right away! They really treated her like she was theirs we always felt that we had great care for her throughout the whole time!!! So graceful for these guys!!!

    I love the techs and the vets at this place. they take excellent care of my 4 year old dog and when I had to put my puppy down, they were so caring, compassionate and understanding. Dr. Mike was so awesome during that whole awful experience. Im so glad he was there with me. Absolutely the best place for my animals!Still love it here! My dog has such bad anxiety going to the vet and they are so patient with him. A few months ago, they suggested a supplement to help with his anxiety and he did so much better at his recent visit. I cant tell you how much I appreciate them.

    My big baby and my kitties do very well coming here. The staff is incredibly kind and skilled. The front office is amazing, the techs are amazing, and the vets are amazing. The PawPlans are also a huge financial support with having 4 animals. All of the visits and routine procedures would start to add up with it. Very lucky to have found this place.

    I called because my dog was ill and I had the appointment the same day. Upon our arrival the receptionist was excellent and polite which was wonderful. We also were greeted in the lounge lobby by the tech assistant with a smile and she was very concerned about our fur baby and she really cared.After speaking to the tech the doctor greeted us with a smile and was very pleasant to all of us as well. The doctor addressed our concerns very well. We thank the entire staff for showing love towards our fur baby Miss Hunnie. I would give 10Stars if I could.The lobby and room were so clean and it smelled so good. I would definitely recommend this clinic because they care about our fur babies.Also our fur baby is doing well today and we thank you from our heart. It should be noted that they didn’t break us financially and that was a PLUS.

    I had a great first visit at the new location and was pleasantly surprised by the upgrade! Very large exam rooms and a comfortable waiting area. All the staff were wonderful from the second I arrived. Rebecca was great, as always, at helping me get my new kitten started with his PAW plan!

    They are the most affordable in Buffalo and have treated my kitty Eleanor since she was a kitten; she is 7 now. They always give her lots of love and the staff is so gentle and kind to her as if it was their own pet, and we had a great experience yesterday. Everyone is friendly and they answer all your questions and concerns as needed, and they dont shame you. My only upset is that my appointment was at 4:20 and I didnt get pulled back until 4:55, but it was busy. Maybe short staffed, but Eleanor was given great treatment and we werent rushed around at all, so that made up for the wait. I really love this vet office!!

    Came in for a quick blood draw, script pick-up & a nail trim(not Rosie’s favorite thing) and was quickly escorted to a room- she’s reactive to other pets. Friendly technician did a quick intake and within 30 minutes we were done and happy! The kindest, knowledgeable & patient staff around!

    My husband and I had an appt. Scheduled for my German Shepherd he had a bad ear infection. When we got in the car to take him to the vet and our car wasnt working. My husband called to let them know and they told him he would have to put a down payment. We have been with them for years and we ended up paying over $5,000 because my dog needed a lot. I dont think we will be going there again.

    Amazing vet! Caring, compassionate, friendly and really takes the time to understand and get to the root of concerns. I take my 6 year old dog and my 6 month old dog who has made multiple visits a for a pork allergy and mischievous behavior. Pricing has been reasonable. I highly recommend them!

    Friendly knowledgeable staff. Clean facility. I’ve gone before with my dog and since I had such great experiences I brought my new lykoi kitten. They were very accommodating, I initially had an appointment for both my kittens for next week but they were able to see my female early as she needed her stitches removed from when the breeder had her spayed for me. Everyone stopped to stop see her and say how beautiful she was. My kitten wasn’t too happy about the shot she needed but they handled her like pro’s.

    My dog bear had a surgery to get neutered. I purchased a doggie health insurance plan for only 60 dollars a month. It covered the whole procedure. Only had to pay for anesthesia. The staff were absolutely phenomenal. So upbeat and caring. Made me and my girlfriend extremely comfortable leaving him in there hands. He is making his recovery as we speak and is his normal crazy self. Thank you Buffalo Small Animal Hospital I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else.

    I just love Buffalo Small Animal Hospital’s, new offices! They are incredibly spacious and bright. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I love the paw plan where my dog gets a dental cleaning every year. No issues this year at all! I like staying on top of her dental health as An important part of her overall health. Thank you!

    I absolutely couldnt recommend this vet clinic enough. Dr. Dave is an incredibly caring vet & all the women at the front desk are so kind and helpful. My sweet Kitty had to have an oral surgery with them and the care they provided her was top notch. Unfortunately we had to put down our girl last week, she had cancer that we never knew about until it was too late. After getting the report from the emergency vet clinic I took my cat to, Dr. Dave gave me a personal phone call to offer his condolences. It was a gesture I will not soon forget.     My first time walking in the front staff greeted me very attentively. Upon getting into the exam room, the staff was really friendly. I had a long wait between seeing the assistant and vet, but it was okay as vet explained that he was with a family who was struggling with the decision that they may need to put their dog to sleep. The vet spent plenty if time talking with me, answering questions, and explaining needs for kittens. My second visit was much faster, and continued to be a great experience. Everyone is friendly and really knowledgeable. Plus you cant beat the convenience of their paw plan that lets me plan monthly payments for my pets needs

    Dr. Koelmel is incredible. She is responsive, thorough, kind and compassionate. The entire staff that I have interacted with over the past year couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. This vet clinic has undergone a remarkable transition for the better. I wouldn’t have recommended them five years ago but I do now without reservation.

    I’ve taken pets to Buffalo Small Animal Hospital for 40 years. During the last several years, especially because of Covid, my experience with the vets wasn’t as satisfying. But I was thrilled to meet Dr. Kanaby. She gave the most thorough exam to my new pet and spent a great deal of time talking to me. I was happy to experience expert treatment from caring professionals!

    My first visit was months ago when i had to make the hard decision to send my mastiff over the rainbow. They were super great about and sent his ashes home with a Beautiful paw print. I just brought my new English Bulldog there & they were just as good! She received her 12wk shots and a micro chip. They gave me free samples for heartworm & fleas & tics! They will now be my go to veterinarian for all my pet needs! I absolutely recommend them!

    I took my two cats Ryan and Vita here for almost 20 years (1999 - 2016). I was always very impressed and happy with the care and attention we received. When my cat Ryan got sick and passed last year, the staff was incredibly kind and supportive and it meant the world to me. I highly recommend them. If I hadnt moved to another city, I would still be a customer. Keep up the great work!

    My mother has been bringing her animals to this location since before I was even a though, and I have always brought them since I’ve been on my own with my own animals. They are always attentive, the vets take the time to answer any questions and have Greta personalities! Dr.Dave so absolutely amazing and doesn’t try to “upsell” you on any unnecessary to. I would recommend anyone to this vet!!! Just brought them and with Covid being a risk they did a fantastic job to help address the concerns that many have during this hard time.

    They helped us make the best possible informed decision regarding our cat. Ultimately the best choice was euthanasia. They were very understanding, they gave us affordable options for giving us time to gain comfort and closure with the decision. We were allowed to stay with him during and after the procedure, on the appointed day. I was even late due to being fuzz brained and dealing with work related issues, but they took us anyway.     As a first time pet owner, I had some concernes about adopting a senior cat with medical issues. The staff at Buffalo Small Animal Hospital have eased all of my fears. They listened to my concerns and spent the time to educate me so id know what to do if she got sick. The curbside service was fantastic - at one point during our appointment, my phone lost service while speaking with the vet. She then came out to the car - maintaining a safe distance and wearing a mask- to continue our convo about my cats health. The whole staff was so kind. I not only feel much more confident as a pet owner, but also confident that if my kitty does get sick, she will be in the right hands!!!

    What an amazing group of people! We are adopting a small Pomeranian from here and have had a great experience. The tech Kelly( also the foster mamma) has been very helpful with any questions we have had.     I give them 100 stars over and over and over!! Theyre the best Veterinarian hospital in WNY hands down! I cant stress that enough!! Dr. Koelmel is an exceptional Vet. She went above and beyond and saved my little 16 yr old Boomers life. I absolutely love her! The staff is so pleasant, professional and very caring. They offer Paw Plan (Health Insurance). Their prices are very affordable. They have plenty of free parking and convenient hours. Its a win win for everyone!! I recommend Buffalo Small Animal Hospital to anyone who wants great care for their fur family pets.

    Take my rescued and previously abused APBT here for shots and shes on the overprotective/fear aggressive side(not her fault)...great staff and when you have an appointment scheduled youre actually seen at the appointment time! No waiting around for 30mins which is GREAT because shes quite the handful. Shes been coming there since she was a puppy, she was given to me at 8mos and is now 8yrs and loved.UPDATE: 3-4-21 just scheduled an appt for a very sick cat Ive taken in from my TNR colony. The receptionist was very patient and answered any questions I had about Paw Plans coverage for him since Im keeping him, now. She also provided phone numbers and addresses for emergency clinics just in case. Also, not sure why owner responded calling me Shane in their response lolUPDATE:3-15-21 Had to make the decision today to end Hemis suffering. The staff was able to schedule a next morning appt but allowed me to bring him in last minute and let me take my time. They were incredibly understanding and compassionate. RIP HEMI😢❤🐾🌈

    Rebecca is the nicest person in the front end at this office she is companionate and caring.....Not sure who Ashely is but she was rude called for a emergency situation that was going on with my companion dog and she just kept telling me “take her to a hospital because we are booking until December”. I asked Ashely if I can speak to a vet she said they are not in I said can I speak with Rebecca she said she’s not in so I called back explain to Rebecca what was going on she was able to get my sweet little girl in right away. Thank you Rebecca for being so caring and compassionate and all the doctors at Buffalo small Animal Hospital on Elmwood.. Oh and I can’t forget about Ashley the groomer she is also amazing❤️🐶

    I am really happy with Elmwood Small Animal Hospital. Ashleigh is my Kiki’s groomer. I’m always happy with the care she take of my anxious little girl pup and how professional she is. I’m happy with Kiki’s hair, she comes home looking so clean and adorable, sporting cute little hair Barretts and neck bandana. Kiki and I are very satisfied costumers .

    We adopted a puppy from the Buffalo Animal Shelter and she was spayed at the Buffalo Small Animal Hospital. We chose to have them be our regular vet for our dog. We saw both Dr. Wagner and Dr. Sardina. They were both extremely nice and knowledgeable. The vet techs were also great and showed us how to do some simple things such as trimming her nails. My husband and I were first time dog owners and first time puppy trainers and we appreciated all of their help and tips along the way. We would absolutely recommend Buffalo Small Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a great vet.

    I have used Buffalo Small Animal Hospital for two years, since I moved to Buffalo, and I have always experienced extreme care and professionalism from the team, including Dr. Koelmel. She has gone above-and-beyond for my pets especially when my cat had terminal cancer. She texted me every day to check on the status of Frank, and when he passed away, she genuinely was there to care for him and me. Ive taken my two dogs and three cats there for annual appointments and several emergencies, and each time it was exceptional.

    I have been coming here for years primarily for grooming but occasionally for an emergency visit when my primary vet is too busy or out of town and it is a matter that requires urgency. Judy at the front desk is always extremely accommodating and will slip me into the schedule!The Grooming is TOP NOTCH! Dawn is always excited to see my dog and my dog loves to see everyone there. I dont know what they do to him while he is there but he is always extremely excited when we get there! Dawn is very knowledgeable and always capable of answering my questions about my dogs coat. I have never had a dog that sheds so proper coat maintenance is something rather new to me. I asked about shaving him in the summer to help him stay cool, she then informed me about how shedding works and how his coat actually helps him cool off! She also likes to dress him up for holidays by adding a bow or a festive cover to his collar.Whenever I have dealt with veterinary staff they have always been friendly and informative. They care about the animals and have taken time to make sure that my dog is comfortable enough to perform what ever exam is necessary. My dog likes to hurt himself a lot. somehow he is always cutting himself on a stick or running into something! so when I have gone there scared to death that he wont be ok they have reassured me that everything is ok! and dogs will be dogs.

    I have been going to this vet since I moved to Buffalo in the early 1980s. It was the only vet in Buffalo that hired women vets. My service has always been top notch. The care for each animal has always been caring and they listen to what you have to say. When my very old dog could no longer walk they helped me through the transition to put him to sleep. Right now they have brought my 17 year old outside cat back from the brink. He needed thyroid tables twice a day. He has his bounce back and he has gained weight and he is enjoying life again.
