I started to go here because I adopted my dog through the Buffalo Animal Shelter and they offer a discount with them for adopting. My dog gets nervous around other dogs, and they are super accommodating with that. They allow me to do a call check in and then enter though the garage door when they are ready to take him back. They also cash me out inside the room too so that I dont have to stress my dog out more when we are there. My dog loves the staff and everyone there is so nice. I love going there cause sometimes as a pit bull and reactive dog parent, so many people will judge you and be rude but the staff there are so amazing and they make me feel like Im a good dog mama. I highly recommend them especially if you have a reactive dog. Thank you for taking care of Buddy Ray.

After getting a young kitten for the very first time, my mind was bombarded with questions and fear of the unknown. Thankfully, I was able to speak with the McClelland staff and schedule a new patient appointment with no problem. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted with a friendly welcome.All the staff members were attentive and courteous. Dr. Carrig provided a thorough exam on our kitten, while answering our questions and fully addressing our concerns. You can tell he is very knowledgeable, and passionate about his profession. We know we are in great care in his hands and look forward to many years of visiting McClelland! 10/10 for outstanding service!

I wish I could give them 100*stars!If you are looking for a Vet .. McClelland has exceeded my expectations! I do not know another 12 week puppy who jumps into the staffs arms when they come out to get her! Dr. Doyle and the entire staff love Coco and treat her so great! They have a flawless system due to covid and I really appreciate everything they do for the pups. Phenomenal vet and staff!

They always take great care of my girl. Whenever we come in, they all greet her warmly. The vet talks to her as if she could talk back and give answers. Its comical but reassuring to know he really cares about her well-being. And she has seizures, so whenever I call in a panic, they do the best they can to assist me and let me know what I need to do or have a Dr give me a call asap. Definitely recommend.

The doctors and staff are great and Ive never had an issue. Infrequently, there may be a longer wait that usual but its manageable. Love McClelland and love its history as well!

Were extremely grateful for Dr. Reynders professional services as our terrier (Bailey) completed her final stop in her lifes journey. Given Baileys heart condition, Bailey needed monthly prescription refill. Even during the middle of the pandemic, we didnt have any interruption of medication due to McClellands responsiveness to changing their operations to ensure safety of the owners and the staff. Otherwise, the clinic is a full-service practice with both preventive visits and the ability to perform small surgical procedures. Despite having a parking lot, its sometimes difficult to get a parking space.

Dr. Reynders always goes above and beyond for my dogs. She helped save my one dogs life and has always followed up on how hes doing if we have had emergencies. Harley loves her and I wouldnt take him any where else. All the staff and Doctors are great in general.

SUCH CARING STAFF!! I did not feel rushed whatsoever and the vet took his time answering all my tedious questions and had a great attitude. My baby girl is usually VERY anxious and aggressive at the vet but the technician and dr spent some time getting her to smell them & get used to the space before starting on her check up & vaccines. They even offered her a treat! (Which she refused but that was still sweet) I am honestly amazed at how gentle & caring everyone was with her & how they managed to get her to not act like a wild animal at the vet. I would highly recommend them to everyone

So incredibly grateful for Dr. Carrig. My senior pittie girl needed a splenectomy after a mass was detected on her spleen during an emergency visit late last week. I was so incredibly nervous and anxious, understandably since this is a major surgery and I was given a less than stellar prognosis prior, but Dr. Carrig came to speak to me the morning of the surgery and made me feel so at ease and answered all of my questions.The surgery was a success, and quite frankly, I’m not sure I would have felt as comfortable as I did leaving my sweet girl there if it wasn’t for him. Thank you, Dr. Carrig, and the McClelland team for taking such good care of my Leila and keeping me informed as soon as she woke up from anesthesia. As a first time pet owner, I couldn’t have asked for a better vet to handle such a stressful surgery.

McClelland has been absolutely amazing!! The staff are so friendly and Dr. Carrig has been a godsend during a very stressful time when our young greyhound was really unwell. Judi, one of the techs, has been beyond supportive and helpful. There have been many times when the doctor has made decisions in our dogs best interests that cost far less than other options I would have agreed to cover, should they have been recommended. Im so glad we transferred care to this excellent practice, they have my full and entire trust when it comes to our beloved pets!!

This vet was recommended by a family member. We brought our new kitten in for shots and to get spayed. The whole staff was wonderful!! The office and patient rooms were nice and clean. The staff took the time to get to know my little baby, as well as me! The doctor did a great job on the surgery as well. I had a few questions when we got home....a couple of times...and they answered ALL my questions and told me to call back any time. They made us feel like we were in very good hands. I recommend this office to everyone!!

I adopted my first dog a few months ago during the pandemic and have been very pleased with McClelland Small Animal Hospital. I first brought my dog in for vaccines and a check up. I was very pleased with the doctor, as well as their honesty with which vaccines my dog needs and which aren’t necessary. They have made pick up and drop off very convenient during Covid. Another bonus is that they do grooming services here so I also bring my dog in for that. I’ve been very pleased with the services and the prices are very reasonable for such a good and thorough job. My dog gets separation anxiety but she does well here. Very pleased overall with the professionalism, expertise, and environment here.

Weve only been going here a few weeks...but, this place is WAY better than our old vet office - OPVMC. I never thought Id ever say that. But, the staff are all amazing, they greet you friendly and you feel taken good care of. We have already become attached to their Tech, Kim...completely AMAZING!! AND...we get 20% OFF because we adopted from the city shelter very generous! Kind hearts, and you actually feel taken good care of .💞 A HUGE THANK YOU TO THEM.***EDIT*** 2/8/19...We have now been patients with our girl for several months and have formed a bond with Dr. Doyle .💖 She is the most caring, compassionate doctor Ive ever met ... I know she TRULY cares about my baby and us. Im sure the other vets there are wonderful, but Callie has bonded with Dr. Doyle, so we are now attached to her. 😁 NEVER hesitate to go here. Dr. Doyle was super compassionate and gentle concerning the eye issue I brought in my older best friend for initially, as well as the other issues that come with having an older dog. She listened to the concerns I had, and after an exam, put together a comprehensive care plan. She also went over every detail with me about why she recommended what she did. Onyx will definitely be back to visit his new buddy!Welcoming front desk staff and Saturday hours are also a bonus thats hard to find!

This is vet my gram takes her dog to. So i took her dog for her this time due to covid. They do not let you in. My grams pomeranian needed to get his shots updated, meds n was in desperate need of grooming to be done. They did a wonderful job for the price. Her dog has anxiety issues when it comes to grooming following a bad experience at a petsmart. She has taken all her pets to McClellan for years. If my gram says its a great place....its hard to disagree. Excellent place to take your animals to for all vet/grooming needs.

Every experience Ive had with this clinic has been excellent. Routine yearly checkups have been easy to book, and easy to readjust times. The employees answering the phone have always been pleasant (even when you annoyingly call back immediately to double check something small). One time last year my cat got sick for unknown causes. The vet was extremely accommodating, took my budget into account, and still went above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this clinic.

Great Veterinarians and caring team, this place has been in existence since 1880s serving small animals now ( it was a horse livery in the 1880s though.). My animal rescue has been taking their cats here for years, and they even board cats and dog. A truly great place with caring knowledgeable staff.

I brought my dog to this facility because it was the only one relatively close to my house that accepts a certificate from Friends of Animals. I was more than grateful when the vet called and personally asked if he could shed some relief on a completely unrelated issue my dog was having while the certificate covered the anesthetic and medication. He saved us over $800 and my dog is better than ever! I believe I will be switching permanently to this vet!

I cannot say enough positive things about this animal hospital. My cat needed to be brought in and they got me an appointment the day that I called. I wasnt able to go because of school so my boyfriend took her. They were extremely accommodating and the doctor was willing to talk to me at length about what was going on. He said they were very thorough and informative.We originally came here for a second opinion because I just felt like my former vet was missing something. I am completely satisfied with the service we received at McClelland and will be using them as my primary vet from now on. Also, they were very inexpensive which is a bonus!

They are awesome here. They work a lot with foster groups and help with low income families with pets. They also find homes for pets in need. I adore the staff, theyre kind and patient, they took their time and were gentle with my foster dog who was a bit nervous. I recommend this vet. They even helped me w a surgery for a cat years ago that was emergency need and I could not afford it. They helped defer the cost just so I could keep my pet. Hearts of gold here and a help to the community.

The staff was friendly and we could tell they cared about our fur babies. We were a bit apprehensive at first because they had to go in without us due to the COVID-19 situation. Though we saw our dog pull back and look at us. We saw the vet tech stop and reassure her before continuing. The Dr. came outside and talked to us about them. It was a couple of dollars more than we were quoted,but at least a hundred dollars less than the other vet we called. I recommend this as a good clinic,.. They do shots, exams,surgery,and grooming.

The good folks at McClelland saved my bunny’s life. She began exhibiting signs of GI stasis (life-threatening within hours) and I was lucky enough to get their number after calling seven different emergency vets in the area who couldn’t see her. I got her in that very afternoon and they were so caring toward her, as well as informative and helpful toward me. Sent us home with the meds we needed and the appropriate information. My sweet girl was feeling more like herself before the break of dawn, and I do believe it was thanks to the care over at McClelland’s. Clementine and I thank you!!!

About a year ago our dog developed a hot spot that was making him very uncomfortable. We called our regular vet and the only appointment they could offer us was 4 days out. Of course we didnt want our dog to be so uncomfortable for such a long period of time, so we called McClelland. Our dog wasnt even a client of theirs, but they understood the urgency and squeezed us in for an appointment later that day. Weve been going to McClelland ever since, and the staff has continued to be just as friendly and accommodating as they were that first day. We are especially thankful for Dr. Souza and the time he takes to thoroughly look over our dogs at every appointment. He not only treats our dogs well, but he is wonderful with us, too. We never leave there with any questions or concerns about the quality of treatment our dogs received.

There’s a Betty dance for sure! When my dog got home from being groomed she was wheezing and reverse sneezing a lot. Unusual for my dog, with no idea in mind of why this could be. That’s normal for the little dogs, but not when she’s fully resting, usually only when she’s overly excited or if she drinks water too fast. So, I called back and they were so sweet and said being her back in right now, we can see her to make sure she’s ok! Great! Amazing, in fact!! Unfortunately, after waiting to get back in to see the doctor: quickly we were met by a rather agitated (probably just tired) doctor who, in short, made me so uncomfortable to the point that I picked up my bag and my little darling and walked out because I could feel the tears coming. I left very upset - for no reason. We had never had anything but a good experience here 100% of the time(s) we’ve been there. There was no good reason to make someone upset for a simple check over. I was informed I was not allowed back by this particular doctor and to enjoy my last time there? for what reason, I’m not sure?As I left, one of the other veterinarians overheard all of this at the front desk and thankfully and magically she came running out after us and OFFERED to HELP! Wow! Blown away. That is 5 star all the way! Dr. Marylisa Reynders who volunteered her time and examined my dog (who is my everything)found she did have a little respiratory issue and prescribed her a tiny medication, which she not only cut in half for me (!!!!) she also waived the fee for it! I was blown away! What a wonderful woman, Dr. Marylisa Reynders, is!! Highly recommend her! Dr. Souza is also excellent, as well as the staff and Betty, the wonderful and very sweet groomer.*We hope to return despite this 1 incident. *

Had to put my dog down unfortunately but the staff was great with Leo. They were very compassionate, realistic about his prognosis and treatment, and offered a work discount for the services. I received my dogs ashes in a nice box with a locket and his paw print. They sent me a sympathy card in the mail as well. They made a very hard and overwhelming situation go smoothly.

My dog would not be alive without the amazing service of this Clinic. Its not often that you really love your veterinarian but I would never go to another vet except Dr Reynders. Shes really amazing and you would not realize it really until you go to veterinarian who doesnt take the time or the effort to try to help your animal and you compare them to the amazing service Dr Reynders gives you and you realize that its like having McDonalds versus having filet mignon. McClellands is the absolute go-to for bunnies!!!My 8-year-old Daisys back legs were failing her. My previous clinic had switched to a once-a-month rabbit tech so I had to find another.When I brought her in for Dr. Souza, intrinsically, he knew the problem was neurological - but due to a worming thing that most bunnies are born with. Instead of ordering exotic tests, we started her off on worming meds. And she came roaring back as tho she never had a problem. During that initial visit, he also cleaned her ears to help her balance. That created a noticeable improvement even before the meds kicked in.Another problem she had was beginning incontinence. Dr. Souza knew that estrogen would help. I decided not to use it because of the cancer aspect. I do have to get after her a lot, but then, so would any parent with a two-year old. Fortunately, I just confine her to the kitchen and back room with lotsa plastic under her rugs.Throughout it all, Amy (the lead vet-tech) provided a lot of crisis counseling for me. lolAbout a year later, she just stopped eating. Dr. Carrig saw her and we discussed how, not just what, she was eating. He had me eyeball her when she ate and it turned out that she couldnt pick her food up any more due to two surgically removed teeth and one that just fell out.So, from the counter banter with Katie, Rachel, Chelsey and Judi, I now cook up a bunny smoothie of pellets, pulverized hay and greens mixed with critical care. She eats it like a little maniac, alternating between that and regular pellets.Ben, another tech, usually takes us into the examination room and is genuinely interested in her presenting symptoms. But then, so are Eric and Phil whenever theyve escorted us!Betty Jean is such an inspiration, with her horses and kayaking. Shes held my Daisy like a newborn.Dr. Souza once told me that bunnies have the fragility of birds. Dont we all. Life and health is celebrated at McClelland Small Animal Hospital.

I do not know how its taken me 11 years to write a review and I also cant believe its been 11 years that weve been bringing our dog here. We got a rescue when he was 4 months old. We crate trained and he never had an accident. We leash trained and he was a good, happy pup until two unleashed dogs attacked him near our home. After that he became defensive and nervous. We took him to classes but we couldnt break him out of it. So, we fenced in our yard to let him run and exercise, but feel safe. Anyway, taking him to the vet was unsettling to say the least. We knew everyone was there to help, but our dog has nipped and has the highest anxiety. This animal hospital is SO unbelievably accommodating, have never made us feel wrong or insecure with our dog in their care, have always supported us, and all around provide the best most outstanding service to our pup. I would give this clinic 100/10 if I could. HIGHLY recommend!

My cat has chronic health conditions and Dr Kerwin is diligent, communicative, always calls me back, very very thorough and I feel safe and secure taking my pets here ... As we know they are our family !!! Ill never go anywhere else. McClelland is the best. Cloudy LOVES you guys,as does our sweet pitty Rumi.Also may I add our pit can be dog reactive, theyre good about letting us wait in the car and calling us in when its rumis turn. They are THE BEST ❤️ they work with a lot of rescues too. The kindest people 🙂❤️
