I’ve been to a few dog trainers in the past with my first dog who mostly taught how to teach your dog cues. This school is much more holistic, teaching you how to teach your dog regulation, impulse control, capturing behaviors, and building your relationship with your dog. Rather than just outlining the steps to teach a particular behavior, they explain the theory, principles, and behavioral science of positive reinforcement training. I’ve been extremely impressed and grateful to have found it.My puppy has attended the socials, day school, adolescent level 1, and a recall workshop and all of the trainers have been extremely knowledgeable, kind, and go above and beyond to be helpful. We especially appreciated how much individual attention and support we got from Suzanne in adolescent level 1. Liz taught our recall workshop and after only one of the three sessions, my puppy improved drastically in her recall. Melissa has been incredibly helpful in helping us choose which programs to attend and explaining the behavioral issues my puppy was displaying. Michelle has given us such detailed and helpful feedback after day school so I can continue building on the skills my puppy is learning there. Day School has been a miracle. My puppy’s leash skills and impulse control have improved so much more rapidly since she started attending. I felt like I was working on training her every minute of the day I wasn’t at work and it was still slow going, but since she started day school, I see marked improvements every week. Day School and the socials have also been an excellent outlet for her to play with other dogs safely (unlike at the dog park which can be unpredictable) and wear herself out which has been sanity saving for me.Every trainer we have met here has seemed like a true dog lover and excited to help us with our journey, I’m only sorry I can’t recall everyone’s name to mention them specifically in this review, but anyone who works here is obviously an excellent trainer. The administrative staff has also been so lovely and warm and made me feel they are invested in my puppy too! We got to meet Amanda once and I felt she personally cared about me and my puppy even though I’m sure she’s very busy as the owner of the school. It feels not just like a training school, but a community for me and my puppy. I plan to sign my puppy up for every course offered here and would recommend this school highly to anyone.

I have worked with Amanda Gagnon with my new rescue pitbull Macy. I have worked on 1-1 training and done the dayschools. This has been invaluable to me, as a first time dog owner, and with a high energy and challenging rescue. My trainer offered valuable training to ME the owner as well as Macy. She is patient, caring and incredibly knowledgeable. Our sessions are definitely equal parts human therapy and dog training - which is so important. In our first week of ownership she helped me organize a care plan for Macy when I had to go out of town - and she didn’t even know us that well! She has helped me find a reliable and caring regular dogwalker and helped me navigate a seemingly endless stream of health issues and complications. She also loves Macy and has helped her get to the point where she can play with other dogs (mostly!). The dayschools offer a supervised play opportunity, which was critical to me having a bully breed who likes to play rough. They have taught her how to moderate her play style and made me so much more comfortable taking her out and about. Also, she LOVES going to school and then promptly passes out for 3 hours on return. So it gives me an all day win.

My dog Baci has been going to Amanda Doggy school since she came home from her litter. I still remember her first puppy social I was so worried because she was unvaccinated but they took all the correct measures in ensuring the safety of the puppies. Every since then we have taken multiple classes; group classes and privates with Sam, weekly Adolescent Day school with Gwen and endless adventures at Playgroup. We would have been so lost without the team at AGD, they have help me train and reinforce good dog behavior. Everyone always complements how well behave my dog can be and is really because of the AGD team. I will continue to recommend AGD to anyone who needs help training a dog.

Two days ago my little sweet Maple graduated from the adolescent dog training class here and it was amazing! The class was taught by Denver and was very hands-on and practical. My Maple is a one-year old rescue dog and was very timid and scared of people and dogs. On the first day of class, Denver was so kind and considerate and adjusted things to help Maple get more confident with the other dogs. After each session I saw Maple get better and better and more comfortable with the other dogs in the class. At the end of this class Maple learned so much that I can’t even believe it. It was absolutely the best group class I have ever attended. I have an older dog who took a lot of puppy classes elsewhere but this was nothing to compare to them. I highly recommend this class! Thank you Denver and Amanda Gagnon Training!!

I can’t say enough good things about AGDT. My pup Chapman is a rescue and Gwen has been such a big help! I see so much improvement in his confidence and behavior. The whole team is awesome, many of my friends and neighbors take their dogs here. They also have fun socials events, Chapman was just at their Easter egg hunt!

Weve been bringing our dog, Rocky Potato, to Amanda Gagnon for about 8 months now. He absolutely LOVES going! The trainers are all so warm and friendly. We love that they use only positive reinforcement training. Rocky cant get enough of all the classes, from agility to leash skills. All the trainers have gotten to know Rocky and help work with us on training that works best for us. We also love getting his report card w/ photo from adolescent school and hang it on our fridge weekly

My puppy, Sora, and I have been going to AGDT since he was about 11-12 weeks old and weve tried out all different classes theyve had, including Puppy Socials, Puppy Day School, Leash Training. He even learned to walk on leash indoors for the first time with AGDTs leash training class (with Gwen Moyer)! We love working with Gwen and Matt!!!And now that hes an adolescent (8 months old), we started doing their Adolescent Social and Adolescent Day School. The trainers and staff have been absolutely amazing and wonderful. They have been very patient and responsive to my puppy and me and are always very eager to help. Sora LOVES this place and is always so excited to go to class. We definitely recommend this place!

We cant thank AGDT (and Gwen Moyer, particularly), for all their fabulous work and dedication to helping train and socialize puppies and puppy parents during the pandemic. We adopted a fearful pup at the beginning of the pandemic, and are so thankful for the puppy socials offered at AGDT, which got our girl off on the right paw! Our pup loved going there, so we kept up -- attending puppy day school, adolescent group training, and we did some one on one sessions with Gwen, as well. Today, our 18 month old girl is thriving and loving life, and it is without a doubt in part due to the work that was put in by Gwen and the AGDT team (training us as well as our pup). We grateful to have worked with them, particularly during a pandemic and in SUCH difficult circumstances. As a side note, Gwen is amazing at her job -- she has a fantastic ability to read dogs, understand what they need, and develop positive reinforcement practices to get solid results. She is also just a joy of a person to work with -- we always had so much fun during our sessions! We have since moved out of state, but we will always be grateful to the AGDT fam, and wish them lots of success as they grow and continue to work with doggos in NYC -- they deserve it!

My Golden Retriever, Moose, began attending AGDT when he was 6 months old. The entire staff is amazing. He frequently attended Michelle Popelkas classes and in less than 2 months his impulse control and recall has improved tremendously. He also learned social skills like how to share toys with other dogs, how to handicap himself when he plays with smaller dogs, and is now a pro at ā€œleave itā€. Michelle’s and the other trainers notes and homework written on Moose’s report cards guided me to practice what he was learning in school, at home.Moose loves and pays high attention to Michelle so we enrolled in her Private Certified Trainer Sessions which helped with his leash walking skills and recall outside in Central Park. Now Moose is able to run free in the park because I trust he will come back to me by using simple recall cues!I highly recommended attending classes at AGDT as well as Michelle’s private training sessions as I notice Mooses continuous improvements.

Amanda Gagnon Dog Training is an invaluable resource! I am thrilled to have consulted with different members their staff over the course of Lucky Bambinos four and a half years with us. The attached photo shows Lucky after a recent private session with awesome trainer, Michelle Formato. I always come away from our dog training sessions a better human :)Thank you, Amanda Gagnon Dog Training!

I can’t tell you how thankful I am that my Vet told me about AGDT. I have a pitbull puppy who is so lovely BUT had a bunch of issues to work through. I thought that I would never be able to get him to behave or listen to me. He was pulling heavily on the leash, lunged at other dogs (not aggressive but just excited), and kept jumping on my senior dog. There’s a lot more but let’s just say those were the top three. I started with the puppy school and his road to being the best dog started there. The trainers at AGDT are just the best of the best. They are very caring and careful with how they handle each dog. Every dog gets special attention and treatment. And you can feel how much they care for your dog and stay involved in the whole process.Flash forward…after months of attending the puppy school and adolescent socials my dog is almost the perfect dog!! He is still not a year yet but the improvement was tenfold! Thank you AGDT you have given me and my family a wonderful and well behaved pit bull to enjoy for life!! I have referred anyone that approaches me on dog training and socialization. Hands down highly recommended!!!!

Love, love, love, MICHELLE Rutner! My golden retriever puppy has learned so much and is now very gentle with other puppies and people. Jake doesn’t jump on people which is a big thing I’ve been working on.So much good things to say!

My dog Howie has been going to classes here since he was 10 weeks old. He started with Puppy Socials and then Puppy Kindergarten and is now in Puppy Level 2. Each class has been great! Weve had Sam as Kindergarten instructor and Level 2 instructor and hes been wonderful. Sam is patient with Howie and answers my questions about training issues patiently and with solutions. Their puppy socials I cant recommend enough for young puppies...it helped Howie immensely in being comfortable around other dogs and Melissa was generally the instructor at these for us on Saturdays and she was great too!

  • Review 14 (2022-07-07 - Rating: 5)

So happy we went with Amanda Gagnon training for our pup! The puppy socials were critical in safely socializing our dog as a puppy. Additionally we had a few private sessions with Gwen, one of the trainers, where we worked on leash training in Central Park. Gwen was great, engaging, and really took the time to focus on our specific needs. We have the best dog EVER thanks to Amanda Gagnon Dog Training.

I took an APDT hosted class on puppy classes with Amanda. Ive been running puppy classes for a few years now, but I still feel like I learned a ton! Thanks for a great class, Amanda! I have lots of new ideas to implement in my classes going forward!

  • Review 16 (2022-05-31 - Rating: 5)

Amanda and her trainers have been great with my dog, Josie. We’ve taken a few classes, done a personal training session, gone to adolescent day school and to playgroup and participated in the community Easter Egg hunt. Each trainer we worked with has been great at listening and they all really helped Josie with walking on leash, playing nice with other dogs and resource guarding. She wants to go there every time we are close by. I’m so glad they’re in our neighborhood!

  • Review 17 (2022-08-11 - Rating: 5)

My vet recommended Amanda Gagnon Dog Training for classes for my puppy & Im so happy she did. My goldendoodle spent a few weeks with a trainer before I got him, so he was pretty much housebroken & knew the basics, but I definitely didnt & was overwhelmed when I brought him home. Going to class with my dog has been empowering as a new dog owner & encouraging to see his progress week to week. Ive done both puppy kindergarten levels with Amanda, day school most often with Gwen, socialization on Saturdays, & private sessions with Gwen to deal with some separation issues. The way Gwen has spent the time with me to explain why you should do something a certain way, tell me how special my dog is, & give us reasonable goals with ways to level up has truly changed the way I live with my dog. Its a lot of work to train a puppy & the investment in training classes with professionals has been totally worth it to me. When it comes to running the business side, the admin team is super responsive & polite with questions & booking.Update: Past puppy life, my dog & I have continued to take fun classes with Gwen. For me, its bonding & a way to focus my dogs energy which remained very high until about 18 months. Weve done agility & nose work. Both classes have been fun & challenging for my high energy & eager to please pup. Gwen had great tips to practicing weaving & jumping without the agility prop course set up & people always get a kick out of the little circus tricks I often have my dog doing while waiting for a light to cross the street. Nose work was trickier, but if your dog is like mine & likes to sniff trash bags on your walks, its fun to try to focus that skill. I cannot wait to see what fun class comes next, the AGDT crew knows Ill be the first one to sign up.We also took the recall workshop with Denver which was AMAZING. Great tips for how to call, how to treat, what kinds of high value treats to use, & how to build up the skill. We practiced at the dog park between classes & in three weeks I went from knowing hell probably come when I call him to hell drop a toy & run away from play with other dogs to rush to me across the park when I call him 98% of the time. Off leash walking is now a comfortable reality for us.

The team at Amanda Gagnon Dog Training is truly incredible. After adopting my first puppy (4 months at adoption) AGDT was SO helpful with the transition into puppy parenting. The 5-week Puppy Kindergarten program was truly game-changing for us, along with the Puppy and Adolescent Socials. Our pup was very shy when we brought her home, and shes now 11 months and a COMPLETELY different, confident, social, loving girl. We owe so much to the AGDT team for her amazing progress! 12/10 recommend.

Gwen was instrumental in helping us understand our dog, Lola (Great Pyrenees). We rescued her at 10 months old and she had never been trained before and was not potty trained. Gwen gave us important tips and tricks on how to train Lola in a way that made sense to her. She individualizes training so it fits for you AND your dog. It’s definitely not a one size fits all situation. She truly cares deeply about your dog and their well-being, and it shows. I highly recommend getting your training through AGDT and Gwen for the absolute best experience for you and your dog.

Where to start? I got a new puppy three months ago and I could not have done it (or still be doing it) without the group of amazing and caring experts at Amanda Gagnon who clearly love, and care for, my puppy. I think I have tried every service they offer - virtual kindergarten, puppy playgroup, puppy day school, leash walking and now we are about to start adolescent day school and adolescent play group (I am signed up for every single class they offer through June). We did 1:1 virtual training with Gwen who is just terrific. Taylor couldnt love our dog more. Justine and Esther teach Sadie lots of great skills. Amanda is teaching our leash class and we have already improved. And the all around guru, Matt seems to keep the place churning (and my puppy is obsessed with him!). Honestly I couldnt recommend this place more and I hope they keep adding more services (e.g., teenage school, walking services, daycare). We will use them!

We completed puppy kindergarten with our 5-month-old. Sam is a great trainer and made the class very enjoyable. He helped us train the dog while training us to be better dog parents. Our puppy left every class in a great mood and he can now respond to some basic commands. Were very glad we took this class!

I can’t say enough good things about Trainer Gwen! When working through some difficult behavioral issues with my pup, Gwen was extremely helpful, patient, and positive even just through virtual/phone consultations. She always recommended the best training tools and force-free methods, making me feel more confident in managing my pup’s fear-based reactivity. I’ve worked with many trainers, but Gwen’s advice has been the most impactful and I would recommend Gwen and Amanda Gagnon Training to anyone looking for experts who truly care about your pup’s success and wellbeing. Thank you!

Our dogs experiences at AGDT have been great. Our 1.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog attended/s Adolescent Day School and playgroup there. The team is professional and responsive, and our dog, who was hesitant to go with strangers has always felt comfortable going there. She always comes back to us happy, tired (in a good way) and clearly well cared for.

We have been taking our pup Nala to AGDT for training. We have done both private sessions with Michelle P and puppy kindergarten. We are now signed up for puppy level two starting soon. Michelle has been great, is so knowledgeable, and is very responsive. She really helped us to build the foundation for our training and continues to be a great resource. I highly recommend Michelle and AGDT!

My beagle puppy was extremely shy and nervous around new people and other dogs. My puppys confidence grew so much by taking her to AGDTs puppy socialization and puppy kindergarten classes! The trainers helped encourage my puppy to play with new dogs and were very kind to her. My dog is now comfortable meeting new people, and she enjoys sniffing and interacting with new dogs too.I also took my puppy to the leash training workshop and pushy dog workshop to work on behavioral problems with Gwen Moyer. Gwen has been a wonderful trainer and is very understanding. I appreciated her judgment-free advice and practical tips to help train my dog. My dog is now less fearful of the world around her, and our bond has grown immensely from all of the training we do together. I highly recommend taking your dogs here!

My wife found AGDT when looking up puppy socials, and THANK DOG we did! We did 10 puppy socials here as well as both virtual and in-person group classes. Our dog is definitely one of the most well trained and well socialized dogs. We get compliments all the time for how well behaved he is and we attribute all of this to what we learned from the team at AGDT. He showed some minor resource guarding as a puppy, the trainers were so nice about it and taught us tools to work on this issue and we were able to resolve the issue before it even became a problem. He now happily shares his toys, treats, etc. - you would never even know he used to have a fear of sharing!Thank you so much AGDT team for showing us that training can be both fun and effective :)

Im not sure where my family would be without AGDT! We adopted our dog about nine months ago from a wonderful rescue organization and immediately started learning all we could about how best to provide for her. Amandas online courses and worksheets gave us countless tools and strategies in order to feel confident that we were giving Shay the best possible chance of having a happy and healthy life. Amanda has the perfect combination of canine expertise and human communication and empathy. She listens, understands, and then delivers practical and effective feedback that can be implemented immediately. We are immensely grateful and Shay is doing great! We all are, thanks to AGDT! :)

We love AGDT! We rescued a 10-week old puppy from Muddy Paws Rescue in February 2021. AGDT came highly recommended, offered a discount for Muddy Paws Rescue alums, AND was conveniently located just 2.5 blocks away from us in the UWS -- what a win! As new puppy parents, we were eager to socialize him in a safe way before he had received all of his puppy vaccinations, and the drop-off puppy socials were PERFECT. These socials allowed our pup to socialize, play, and learn for an hour at a time and we gained valuable feedback from the trainers about how he did, what we can work on, etc.Our pup attended drop-off puppy socials 1-2 times per week until he was about 4.5 months old; even after he had received all of his puppy shots, we continued to drop him off at the puppy socials to continue with socialization and learning in an ideal environment. With feedback from the trainers (he was rapidly growing and ready for play with older pups), we switched him to adolescent socials and its been a great fit! He knows when were headed to the 85 St facility and he is SO EXCITED to go in every time.In addition to the drop-off socials, we enrolled our pup in the Adolescent Dog Training (outdoors in Central Park!). The 5-week course was a great way to learn the basics and set a good foundation for us to build on.We are so grateful for the AGDT team and would highly recommend the classes and socials to anyone looking for quality training in the UWS area!

I loved working with Amanda Gagnon Dog Training! I have an anxious dog who struggles with people and with other dogs and AGDT helped me find ways to ease her anxiety and get more comfortable on walks, and did it in a way that made me feel confident I could manage the training when they weren’t there. I would (and do) highly recommend them to anyone with a dog who needs support.

  • Review 31 (2020-10-02 - Rating: 5)

When we first got our puppy, we were completely in over our heads. We didnt know how to train him, and were especially frustrated with not being able to take him outside before his vaccines. We met multiple people who directed us to Amanda Gagnons puppy socials, and started taking our pup 1-2x/week. The change in him was quite noticeable, and he is so social now! He loves all other dogs and humans too. We loved AGT so much that we continued on with their Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy II classes. Additionally, we took him to their puppy day school where they take them for 3 hours to teach them all sorts of fun things. My puppy absolutely worships one of the trainers in particular (Gwen) and I am convinced that she could call his name from a mile away and he would run to her. I cant recommend Amanda Gagnon Dog Training enough!

  • Review 32 (2021-07-16 - Rating: 5)

My vet recommended AGDT to me when I got a new puppy in March, and I could not be happier I listened to the doctors orders! The puppy training is top notch, the staff and trainers are professional, helpful, kind and super responsive. I have participated in the Puppy Training classes and virtual private training, and have learned so much. But for me, the young puppy drop-off socials and Puppy Day School were truly essential. Unvaccinated puppies in the city have little opportunity to play with other dogs or people not in their household (and this was even worse during COVID), but this is exactly when they need to be learning critical social skills! The puppy play classes offered by AGDT are rare - if not unique -socialization opportunities for unvaccinated puppies in a safe and hygienic setting. This is not day care; these classes are structured group activities led by professional trainers that teach and reinforce positive behaviors and build on the skills taught in the puppy training classes. I credit these classes, especially the Puppy Day School, for helping my pup become the fun-loving, friendly, and relaxed adolescent he is now. He is calm and confident around new people, dogs, children, sights and sounds. He doesnt lunge or bark when walking around the VERY stimulating city streets and parks. He is a joy for our family and gets positive reactions to his good behavior everywhere we go, and I always give the credit to AGDT! I cannot recommend the puppy offerings highly enough. We are now moving into the Adolescent Day School, and will report back with a new review in a few months.

We have absolutely loved the team at AGDT! They have loved on our Yorkie puppy from day 1 and treat him as if he’s their own. He adores everyone there and practically runs to the door with excitement! He’s done both puppy socials and puppy day school and loves them both. He was so hesitant at his first social but the trainers were patient with him. By his 2nd visit, he was eased in with another hesitant pup and from then on, it’s been party time! They are so patient and kind and are wonderful trainers. A real gem in the neighborhood for dog owners. Can’t say enough great things about them!

Amanda and her staff have transformed my puppy in the last five months. From the kindergarten socialization class, to leash training and various other fundamentals, as well as a few individual hours, I have been truly impressed by the difference in my dog. Their dedication to their profession and their love of dogs is evident every step of the way. You can feel that they sincerely care about your dog and the results are also amazing.

Last year we rescued a dog who was slightly anxious, with a lot of anxiety around being left. Our trainer Sam was wonderful. He was honest about the scope of the help Hunter needed (not a lot!) and provided all of the resources we needed a in few sessions with a couple of as needed check ins. It made me feel super confident in putting my trust and resources into Amanda and her team, it was obvious that there real priority wasnt the money but actually helping Hunter feel safe and secure and teaching us how to best help him learn to self sooth and adjust to novel situations. I highly recommend working with Amandas team!

Simply the best! Our Bernese Mountain Dog started classes with Amanda at six months old. She offers an array of classes to continue training and teaching your pup (and the owners too hah) we just kept coming back. Shes also just a warm, friendly and amazing person. She and her staff really embrace the Upper West Side community and with their new permanent space are able to do more fun events. Recently we went to a holiday paint and sip party where everyone was painting their pups. It was great to hang out with fellow UWS dog owners and their pups. Even after our dog has graduated out of most of the classes its still nice to be part of the alumni community, and if she sees us in the neighborhood shell always ask how our dog is doing. Anytime we meet a new puppy in the UWS we immediately tell them to call Amanda, and most of the time they say youre not the first to tell us about her. If you need a dog trainer I cant recommend her enough!

I cannot recommend AGDT highly enough. I did two private sessions with Gwen Moyer which addressed leash walking, recall, dog parks, and fear of riding in cars. Gwen is an expert on all these topics and more, and she is a skilled communicator with both people and dogs—my rescue pup Eli adores her! After each session, Gwen shared thorough and thoughtful notes about what we had covered and recommendations for continuing to build on his training. Eli also attended one session of adolescent day school, and he will definitely be going back for more. Thank you, Gwen and AGDT!

Yoshi absolutely ADORES play group. He tries to go there any chance he can. He loves all his friends, and whenever he sees his trainers (especially Michelle P) he runs over excitedly and demands pets :) The training has been amazing for him, hes definitely refining his leash skills, calming down in exciting situations, and remaining his delightful playful self. We cannot thank AG enough for encouraging his good habits and slowly tweaking the bad, and Yoshi cannot wait to go back every week!

Cannot express enough how much we love AGDT. We enrolled our puppy in Puppy Socials, Puppy Kindergarten, Puppy Day School and now we have graduated into Adolescent Day School. Not only has our puppy received wonderful training from the team but we have learned how to train our puppy as well. As first time dog owners, we were very nervous about our ability to train a puppy but the team at AGDT taught us so much and has helped us feel confident with our puppy. Our puppy really looks forward to his time at AGDT - he cannot get into the building fast enough and never wants to leave! Thank you AGDT!

Farfetched is the doggie playgroup from heaven! Our almost-2yo Staffy goes 3-4 days a week, and comes home happy and spent. I’m not sure how we would have survived her puppyhood without Sam and his team

I originally came to AGDT because I wanted to enroll my 5-year-old toy poodle in an agility course. I then realized she needed some leash reactivity work, so we scheduled a private session with trainer Gwen. Gwen gave me the best tools, was very open to communication throughout the process, and was EXTREMELY helpful. We eventually enrolled in our agility course with trainers Denver and Michelle and had the best time. During this course, I ended up fostering, then foster-failing a sweet, sharp-toothed husky mix who apparently has a love for my ankles, wrists, face, etc. The entire staff was so open to helping us work through our issues and genuinely care for and love my dogs. We eventually put my puppy in puppy day school and now adolescent day school. Each session gives me a detailed report on how my puppy is doing and some new things to work on.I love coming in to see the staffs smiling faces and extreme patience as they care for the pups. They always answer my (probably annoying) slew of training questions after a weekend away. Theyve also made training so fun for me! Ive actually turned it into a hobby because I now have a better understanding of WHY my dogs do what they do and how to PREVENT those actions from happening. Ive also never felt so bonded with my dogs.If you want the best training - come to AGDT. They make you and your animals feel like family.THANK YOU AGDT! I will continue to come over from UES so my dogs can learn from the best staff. Thank you for caring for our pups!

Bisou started training with Michelle at about 4 months old via Amanda Gagnon Puppy Kindergarten program and it was amazing! She met her first new puppy friends there and I received the support and education I needed to help Bisou grow into a well adjusted and confident puppy. We loved the trainings and Michelles approach so much, upon graduation we enrolled in adolescents day school for continued support + socialization for Bisou. Let me tell you Bisou is one happy pup thanks to Michelle and the Amanda Gagnon Dog Training School and looks forward to going to day school every week!

The team at Amanda Gagnon Dog Training is remarkable. From Natalee, who answered every question about their Puppy Series and got us into class at the last minute... to SAM who is the most amazing trainer Ive ever worked with– a master at his craft. His puppy whispering abilities and sense of ease with us owners truly sets him apart. Absolutely LOVED working with him and learned so much! Hes the best!

This review is extremely overdue. There are not enough wonderful things I could say about Amanda Gagnon and their trainers. I honestly think I would be lost without them. Weve taken puppy kindergarten, puppy day school, adolescent school and soon will be doing fun with agility. The trainers are professional, kind, personable, compassionate, caring and most importantly my 10 month old Poppy LOVES it there. She pulls me down the street when she knows where we are going. Which admittedly is not good leash behavior but she just loves it. The trainers take the time to answer your questions, give tips and tricks to help you through the every changing process that comes with training your pup. Their office staff is quick and responsive, always helpful. I recommend Amanda Gagnon to everyone I meet! Couldnt be happier that Poppy and I found them. Thank you!

Amanda and her staff are top notch. Knowledgeable, competent, caring and available. I found their training methods and ability to teach them highly effective. I adopted a dog that at 5 months old had been in 3 homes and never worked with. Amanda and staff were lifesavers. Thank you.

Gwen is such an asset at Amanda Gangon Dog Training! Our dog, Sydney, participated in Gwen’s puppy kindergarten class. She was so patient with the dogs and the owners and shared so many extremely helpful tips and tricks. Gwen is very knowledgeable in dog training/behavior and is always willing to help, whether that’s in class or answering a quick question via text.

ā€œThat woman is a Druid! She cast ā€œspeak with animals!ā€ and it worked,ā€ said our child after Gwen Moyer left.I would say that Gwen saved our vacation. Our dog Phoebe is very anxious and extremely defensive. In AGDT-speak, she is a ā€œreactiveā€ dog. So we put her through the ā€œAnger Managementā€ class and we’re amazed by what Amanda and Gwen were able to teach Phoebe, as well as my wife and me, about how to keep her calm and lessen her triggers.Phoebe doesn’t like other dogs and is scared of most people. She exhibits this by snarling, barking, and acting like the hound from hell. But after two and a half years of this dreadful pandemic, my wife and I wanted to take a vacation and leave Phoebe home. After two months of working with our super, Phoebe has accepted him into her circle. But time was running short, and she wouldn’t let him put her leash on.So I booked Gwen for a private hour. She came over to our apartment and got down on the floor with Phoebe, calmed her, and showed us all how to get her to be ok with a new person leashing and unleashing her. It was like magic.I cannot thank her enough for showing us how to help Phoebe be less of a menace. We feel we no longer need to choose between our dog and our lives.
