Elisabeth was very flexible and responsive , our puppy loved her and her training style was exactly what we were looking for. She was quick to help us get setup with a framework for our new rescue pup and any issues we had were resolved quickly with her direction and assistance. Thanks so much! -

Elisabeth is a very experienced and skilled dog trainer. We have an excitable dog and wanted to work on her walking and being in public, so she can travel with us. After a few one-on-one sessions, training tips and some practice, our dog is walking like a pro! Would highly recommend her services -

After three surgeries in one year, my dog Alex needed physical therapy to help rebuild the muscle that atrophied over time. Since he couldnt walk well, I also needed someone who would work with Alex at home. I found Elisabeth (DogRelationsNYC) online, and she was extremely caring and reliable. Alex was so excited every time she came over to work with him, and after a few short weeks, he showed incredible improvement. Hes back to his old self, and wouldnt have made nearly as much progress without Elisabeths help. I strongly recommend her! -

Elisabeth is truly incredible. We tried a few other classes and trainers before working with her and we were still having lots of trouble with our puppy (i.e. couldnt leave our dog home alone, poor recall, getting over-excited, nipping, etc.).Elisabeth really goes above and beyond. With only a few sessions, she was able to listen to the problems we were having, diagnose what was going on, and provide incredible recommendations that have totally changed the way we interact with our dog.Couldnt recommend her more!! -

I started working with Elisabeth right when I got my 10 week old puppy, and she’s been a total godsend. Her depth of knowledge, level of insight and lovely personality have made the process of training a new puppy so pleasant, and the results have been wonderful. I recommend everyone use Elisabeth as soon they can!I feel so grateful that my puppy has had the opportunity to be trained by her. I often get compliments from strangers about how well behaved my puppy is, and that is thanks to Elisabeth! In addition to being incredible with my puppy, she has been so patient, kind and helpful with me, answering all my questions no matter how small or trivial. It has really helped give me peace of mind and develop confidence as a first time dog owner. It’s been a wonderful experience. I can’t recommend her highly enough! -

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Elisabeth is a gem. When we decided to add a new pup to our family I was very nervous and overwhelmed by all the options for training, diet, grooming, etc. From the start, Elisabeth eased my nerves and provided me with the tools to really set up our pup for success. Our puppys transition from the breeder to our home felt seamless because of Elisabeths guidance. As a trainer, Elisabeth is the best. Not only does our pup LOVE her, her style of training is exactly what you would hope for. She is patient, kind, understanding and fun! Her energy and demeanor is something that cannot be replaced and is why she is so talented and successful. With Elisabeth, our puppy learns quickly and retains easily. Its so fun to watch her work! Our puppy consistently looks forward to Elisabeths visits and knows her by name. Beyond training- Elisabeth has become my go-to for all pet care questions and issues. She truly values and cares for her clients and is always there for questions or advice. I cannot recommend her services enough! -

Elisabeth is a genius with respect to training dogs. She has transformed our tiny 8 week old puppy, born on a farm into a calm, obedient and well mannered dog, while still maintaining his loving and playful personality. Her understanding of animal conditioning essentially puts her in the league of a dog scientist. We are very happy with his progress on house training, barking, eating, sleeping and respecting his parents. Elisabeth has been very reliable, responsive and punctual, as well! Five stars!! -

Elisabeth is the finest trainer of dogs and their owners we’ve encountered. In 1&1/2 hours she had Gigot, our wire doxy, walking beside her, healing then sitting as soon as she stopped, looking up at her in calm. She provided him her undivided attention during the entire process with grace and sensitivity, barely verbalizing. Then she had us practice what we had observed with gentle prompts and correction. If you can’t train the owner, you can’t train the dog. Thanks Elisabeth for also advising us regarding food and challenging interactive toys. -
Review 9 (2022-12-13 - Rating: 5)
Working with Elisabeth was a life changer. I recently developed a health condition that required a number of big lifestyle changes in order to accommodate everyday tasks, with a few of them requiring the emotional and physical support of my Australian Shepard. I knew that my particular dog was capable with training (personality and breed wise) of helping me in these tasks, but I needed structure and guidance. After careful review of a number of trainers in NYC for service dog certification, I chose to work with Elisabeth and I couldn’t be more grateful of the experience. In just the first session my dog took to the training, it was an absolute pleasure working with her. I thought it would be a much more stressful process. She also helped by pointing me in the right direction for all of the other requirements needed for bringing her into public spaces/on transportation as a service dog. I could not recommend working with her more for this, she’s the best of the best. -

It’s hard to say anything but “wow!” about Elisabeth. Working with her to train my psychiatric service dog hasn’t just taught (us both) commands, it set the tone for our entire relationship. My dog is not just able to sit, follow hand signals, etc. He’s thriving. He’s happy and so am I and it’s changed the way I understand learning. It’s an incredible gift to have this wonderful dog to work with my disability. She’s always available and happy to help. I recommend her to everyone; you can’t go wrong. -

I learned so much from working with Elisabeth on how my actions can trigger specific responses in my dog. Working with Elisabeth helped me and my dog to learn as a team. The result is a well-trained and joyful dog who understands my needs and commands and a relieved and happy owner. I highly recommend DogRelations whether you need to train your new dog or want to continue to enhance your dogs learning and skills. -

Elisabeth is extraordinary!! My partner and I are forever indebted to her for the deep care and thought she has shared with us and our delightful silken windhound puppies. We started referring to her as our dog trainer, but now I also think of her as our family counselor! We found Elisabeth after several months of becoming new dog parents. We did not seek Elisabeth out due to any major problems in our household, but we did know that WE had more to learn about how to raise our pups.We are lucky to have obedient and sweet loving dogs by nature (and/or by chance?!), but I had no idea how much of their personalities were waiting to be uncovered. Elisabeth taught us how to give and hold space for each dog to be their own in the family - which was not at all something I would have come to on my own. This process has brought our family so much warmth, love, and compassion. It has been a natural process after Elisabeth broke the ice for us. The dogs are gentle, expressive, and so fun!One of Elisabeth’s mottos on her site states:“Really, is there anything more rewarding than having clear and loving communication with your dog?”There is truly something magical about gaining trust and understanding with my dogs. Elisabeth facilitates this journey with concrete skills to work on and she makes herself available for any questions and concerns you may have along the way. Furthermore, Elisabeth is EXTREMELY knowledgeable of all things dog. She pointed us to high quality and intelligent dog food, diet options in general, harnesses!!!, bedding, and more! Elisabeth also shared her vet contact with us whom did a fantastic laparoscopic spay on our young lady. Our dogs adore Elisabeth and so do we. The room lights up when she arrives for a lesson. Although we hired Elisabeth to work with our dogs, I have come away from the process knowing more about myself as a person and dog owner. Thank you Elisabeth!!PS- Elisabeth also has a very special helper named Cathy who has been an incredible addition to our work with Dog Relations. We appreciate you both so much!!! -

Elisabeth is simply wonderful. We recently adopted a chihuahua/dachshund puppy named Wally and he needed a mix of basic leash training, recall, and some on-leash reactivity. He was also dealing with some very serious separation anxiety - so much so that we could barely leave our apartment without him for the first few weeks. Elisabeth gave us the tools, frameworks, and confidence to help Wally feel comfortable and excited to follow directions and stay calm in situations that he once found very tough to navigate. Hes doing SO well and were endlessly grateful for Elisabeth! If you and your pup need help communicating, dont hesitate to reach out to Elisabeth! -

Working with DogRelations and Elisabeth has been an absolute pleasure. Not only did our dog immediately respond to the training, but we were able to easily follow practice instructions to see results. Elisabeth is super professional and our puppy was so excited to meet with her! -

On day 2 of our puppy arriving, we called Elisabeth for a session. It saved everyone’s life! It is with great respect to human’s best friend, that we fully recommend Elisabeth for any training. Within in moments of arriving, we all felt calmer, relaxed & able to listen. We could better understand the needs of our dog & he could better listen/follow our asks. Not only is she “training” the dog, but us too. More importantly, Elisabeth is a mentor/advisor that helps direct & answer all questions regarding the addition of this new member, their safety & ours. Thank you Elisabeth Weiss! From a very joyful & grateful home. -
Review 16 (2018-05-07 - Rating: 5)
Elisabeth is amazing! We have a one year old dachshund named Roxy who started acting out with barking and nipping. She started begging more for food while we cooked and ate, and just generally could never relax during the day if we were home and not paying attention to her. Her barking went from occasional to worse, like she was a teenager acting out. We tried other trainers and had just so-so experiences. When I contacted Elisabeth, she immediately reassured me that we could work together to help Roxy gain confidence in her space between boredom, insecurity and anxiety. With one visit, Elisabeth taught us how to work with Roxy and start to understand her behavior. Roxy fell in love with her at once. She is also very quick to respond to emails. It is amazing how intuitive Elisabeth is, and I would imagine she could work with any dog with any behavior issue. I wish we would have known about Elisabeth SO much sooner, but am so happy we found her. -

My experience working with Elisabeth of DogRelations was superb. She was very kind and caring and was able to help solve the various behavior issues I had with my bulldog with surprising ease. Her advice was right on target and the results came fast. Her explanations were very clear. She is encouraging and it is obvious that she has everyones best interest in mind.If you are considering training for your dog: I can not imagine anyone doing a better job for you. -

No one ever wants to admit that dog training can be very dull for the dog and for us. Not so with Elisabeth! She turns training into a fascinating exercise! The dogs cant wait for her to walk into the room. Elisabeth sees the world from the dogs perspective and she will give you a whole new view of your canine friend. She views training as education. This is a significant distinction. Suddenly, with her help, you and your dog are speaking the same language, learning and playing on the same page. I make sure that Elisabeth meets every new dog who walks into my life. Shes helped me solve what appeared to be unsurmountable behavioral problems. Shes a brilliant and sensitive trainer. Get her in as early as possible! -
Review 19 (2016-08-08 - Rating: 5)
I came to Elisabeth with an older dog that had some behavior issues that were inadvertently reinforced by me and somehow defied the skills of various trainers over the years.Elisabeth is one of those unusual and special people whose personality, temperament, interests and talents all come together in her work in a profound way.She has an unlimited repertoire of creative techniques to keep my very smart dog engaged and loving to learn instead of searching for situations to react to. The behavior issues become non issues over time.I’ve learned so much thanks to Elisabeths generosity of time and support and willingness to share information. And her positive reinforcement approach is at the forefront of current behaviorist thinking.Working with Elisabeth and Dog Relations has far exceeded my expectations. I can’t imagine that she won’t be a part of our lives for a very long time. -

I hired Elisabeth to help train my new boston terrier puppy Benny. Benny needed to be de-sensitized to touch and needed ALOT of leash training and impulse control while out on walks. Benny loves to chase birds! In less than two weeks, Elisabeth had gotten Benny to calm down, walk on his leash with fewer distractions and respond to basic obedience commands. He has become a delicious, warm and loving puppy and I owe Elisabeth for her excellent work. -

I love my dog — love love LOVE my dog — but he was kind of a jerk when we first got him. I was getting nervous about whether his quirks were solvable. Elisabeth immediately bonded with him, and just a few sessions later, he was worlds better. He liked her, which was obviously great — but she really knew what she was doing, and he learned so quickly with her that it made me question my own knowledge of dogs. Shes great, and youll love her. -

We first met Elisabeth Weiss when Nikki and Bella first arrived home as small puppies. Elisabeth was instrumental in helping them settle into their new home and more importantly saving their mothers (Janet and Susan) from much stress and anxiety!Nikki and Bella are now happy and well adjusted 5 year olds. Elisabeth is still in our lives. The girls love their time with Elisabeth. They continue to learn lots of tricks and good behavior. Elisabeths visits help to undo the bad habits created by the doting mothers in the family. Elisabeth is very patient with us (Janet and Susan) even though our bad habits are harder to fix!We highly recommend Elisabeth for her kindness and caring for our two happy dogs as well as for her patient treatment of the over indulgent parents! -

Last week my dogs behavior and my reaction to it prompted me to call a professional trainer. What an amazing experience. Elisabeth came to our home and gently guided the three of us through the training process. She was tough and patient through Maxs barking, and showed us how we could be too. The training technique is subtle and I wasnt sure Id get it, but one day in and Max is looking to me and his daddy for cues and his anxiety level is way down. Couldnt have asked for a better experience and outcome. Now its up to us to keep up the training, but its really a joy. -

I cannot thank Elisabeth from DogRelations more...the change in our dogs has been miraculous! We have a 5 year old Papillon and recently adopted a 1 year old Papillon. Our older dog Henry always had serious behavioral concerns yet we somehow learned to live with them. With the addition of our new dog Mochi, Henrys problems somehow became magnified. To add insult to injury, Mochi was exhibiting fear aggression issues that needed to be addressed immediately.Elisabeth was recommended to us and we could not be any happier. Her patient and gentle approach with our dogs has helped transform them into much happier and adjusted pets. She partnered with us and gave us weekly exercises that we could practice with both dogs - we saw a change in them immediately. Her training methods are logical and results oriented. As a novice, we learned how to use a clicker, ignore undesirable behavior and reinforce the right behaviors.Henrys incessant barking is so much less. Mochi now allows strangers to pet her and has virtually stopped growling. We were so worried for so long and can now breathe a sigh of relief. In addition, Elisabeth is always available via text or phone or email should you need a quick fix. She encourages the owner to reach out and ask questions and provide updates on how our dogs are doing. Elisabeth always responds quickly and provides a solution. Our little imperfect Paps have a long way to go on the road to becoming model dogs. We feel so lucky to have found DogRelations and know we have a true partner in Elisabeth on this journey. We ADORE Elisabeth and so do Mochi & Henry!Holly & Eric Grannan -

Elisabeth is just the best. She has been working with my anxiety prone corgi, Newton, and has helped both him and me so that we can walk calmly on the street in the city without being triggered by every dog and delivery man. Newton simply adores her. -

Elisabeth came to our home for the standard 90 minute consultation. It was the perfect amount of time. We worked on basic puppy manors and learned the tools needed to teach our little guy many skills. Thanks! -

I am so so grateful for Elisabeth!! Within a short amount of time she helped me train my jumpy, playful puppy and taught him to behave enough to travel and sit in business meetings with me. My puppy adores her and gets so excited to see her. She’s so incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient. I absolutely recommend her services! -

Elisabeth is fantastic as what she does - not to mention super caring, considerate, and responsive! We just adopted our first puppy and had a whole list of questions that we wanted to cover in the first couple weeks. Elisabeth was patient to work through all our questions via phone call, texting, an online session, and an in-person session. Additionally, she gave us a review summary of all the items we went over. Further, she gave really insightful answers to our very specific questions, taught our pup some great manners and skills, and has been a really calming presence in our lives, knowing that we have her available to help. If you are looking for someone to help, Elisabeth is your person - we are really grateful for her and would give 6/5 stars if I could! -

Where do I begin? Elisabeth, owner of Dog Relations, is a treasure. When we adopted our sweet pup just before lockdown in February 2020 I knew she would be instrumental in training (our pup and us)! Then lockdown occurred, we moved out of NYC, and I panicked. Elisabeth to the rescue! She swiftly adapted and began offering us virtual training. Immediately I was impressed - every lesson was effective, productive and so helpful. She is knowledgeable, patient, positive and truly such a pleasure to work with. Three years later, and another pup added to our pack, Elisabeth is our go-to. She helped us (all virtually!) successfully train both pups with obedience, tricks and a plethora of so many fun skills! One of our pup’s can even do a handstand! Our dogs appreciate the stimulation and excitement of her lessons so we continue to prioritize training with her to stay fresh on all our skills :) She is a master and we are so thankful for her and all her help! -

Hiring DogRelations NYC has been the best thing weve done since we adopted our dog. Not only do we have a calmer puppy, but I think we have a much happier puppy. Before training her, we were leaving her behind in the apartment, which caused a lot of stress for her. Now, weve been able to bring her with us to lunch, without her going crazy when people and other dogs walk by. We will use this service again and recommend that everyone do the same. I would suggest doing the training earlier than 1 year, like we did. Still, the experience was an amazing turn around. Very pleased with the results. -

Working with Elisabeth is the best decision Ive made to help transition into life with a new puppy. She is incredibly helpful, responsive, and made an impact in my puppys behavior immediately. Elisabeth has been an incredible support as Ive managed being a brand new dog-mom--I dont know what I would do without her! Cannot recommend her enough for new puppy parents or any dog owners alike. -

We hired Elisabeth back in December 2020 to assist us with our puppy, Sadie, and have been working with her ever since. We had first learned of Elisabeth through our local pet supplies shop who highly recommended her and I reached out to speak with her before Sadie arrived. I knew immediately during our first conversation that I wanted to work with Elisabeth. She was knowledgeable, forthright and her positive reinforcement philosophy corresponded with what we were looking for in a trainer. We worked with Elisabeth initially over Zoom and despite the less than ideal circumstances, the training went well. Elisabeth was informative and responsive and, most importantly, it was so evident that she genuinely cared for the well-being of our dog. She has incredible intuition regarding the nature of dogs, how their minds work and what they are sensing/feeling.Following our initial meeting, we continued to work with Elisabeth on Sadies general training and particularly, walk training as we were still having some difficulty on that front. Elisabeth worked her magic and Sadie has been walking on leash with no issues since. Our family is so grateful to Elisabeth for everything she has done. It is a no-brainer to hire her. On top of her wealth of knowledge on dogs, she is also a kind and caring person and I cannot recommend her enough. -

We’re so thankful to have met Elisabeth and we’re incredibly appreciative for all of her tremendous insight with our puppy. We have a one-year-old morkie who was experiencing various behavioral issues. With Elisabeth’s training methods, we’ve noticed significant improvement in our puppy’s behavior in only a couple days after one training session. Elisabeth also promptly provides a comprehensive report, detailing training techniques. We’re eternally grateful for all of Elisabeth’s continuous support and help! -

Elisabeth got recommended to us through our friends and we are very happy we got to consult with her. Our fur grandma Ruby suffered more and more from behavioural issues like OCD, anxiety and slight signs of doggie Alzheimer. We felt insecure and overwhelmed and needed help to manage this phase of our rescue. Elisabeth met us through Zoom and helped us within 2 seatings to feel more at ease, to have a few tools for our daily life and look into food alternatives as well as ideas on the medical approach. She truly cares about dogs and has a sweet way to interact with very concerned dog owners. I highly recommend her services. -

Dear Elisabeth,David and I read your wonderful and enlightening letter. We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to care and relate your experience and wisdom to our problem. When you said “Fear Aggression” the biggest lightbulb went off. We always thought that Zeus was over protective of David, but I think you absolutely have nailed it. Now we have an entirely different perspective. We also are thankful for you excellent description of Schutzhund training and why that would not be a good option for Zeus. And most of all in one simple sentence, you have explained to us the importance of the positive reinforcement training. When you said that it is much better to do something because you want to do it, than worrying about some terrible thing happening if you don’t, again the sky actually parted for us. I never knew that was the reason for that kind of training. When we worked with the folks at Santa Fe Tails previously, no one ever said that. We just thought it was a newer, more modern way to train dogs. And we worried that they gave far too many treats. And finally your wonderful explanation of deferential behavior gives us such hope for Zeus’s future. I could not bear the thought of living a life of constant fear about him and for him and you actually have lifted a terrible and ominous weight off of the situation. Our only challenge now, is can these folks train us to understand and work in this way with Zeus?Could I ask you to recommend a book or DVD that would be appropriate for us to learn to work with Zeus in this manner?I am ever grateful to Freddie and Myrna for discussing our problem with you and I am ever grateful to you for your amazing expertise and for being so generous in sharing this with us.Warm regards,Roberta Remy and David Shields -

My 11 year old lab Alexs arthritis was catching up with him. It became very difficult for him to move around and sometimes he would fall. After a terrible fall down a set of stairs Elisabeth guided me to a great neurologist and after Alexs surgery started an in home physical rehabilitation program. Alex walked again, enjoyed his walks through the neighborhood, learned to ring poochie bells and loved it. The care Elisabeth gave her contributed a lot to his quality of life.
