I’ve been bringing my dog Elle to Doggie Dearest for over a year and could not be happier. I initially had been bringing Elle elsewhere but noticed both how rude that groomer was to me and also how Elle would refuse to even turn onto the block of that groomer and would shake walking by. I can tell that Elle loves Evelyn even if she’s not thrilled about the grooming, I know she’s being treated kindly there and being exceptionally taken care of. Evelyn also does a wonderful job with the haircuts themselves and even texts me to remind me when Elle is due for another, collaboratively and proactively preventing any sort of matting in my poodle mix. I always feel glad to give Evelyn both my dog and my business and hope to continue for years to come!

Weve been here several times and our dog always looks so cute once finished! This is the 3rd groomer weve been to in NYC and they are by far the fastest. Our poor dog was at a groomer for 8 hours once (shes only a 25lb cocker spaniel) and it was important for us to find a place that focused their attention on one dog at a time, which is what they do at Doggie Dearest and I love that! Our dog was in and out in less than 2 hours. The owner has always been super friendly as well.The only reason we didnt come sooner is because the phone number listed online rings without answer. I would recommend texting to schedule an appt as shes very responsive via text!

I have a one year old Toy goldendoodle and this is the only place she has ever been groomed. I was referred to her by a friend who couldn’t say enough about how much she loved it. My puppy is like my child so I wouldn’t leave her anywhere unless I was certain she would be well looked after. Each time we return she is happy to see Evelyn. She stays approx 2 hours which I love because most groomers make the dogs stay all day. When I pick her up she looks gorgeous. She is groomed exactly how I asked. Everlyn is kind and also pleasant. She confirms appts and makes everything so easy. It’s clear she is an animal lover. I can’t recommend her enough.

There are so many rave reviews of Evelyn that I’ll just add one more thing: my aunt is an emergency room veterinarian and she sees lots of dogs that get strangled at the groomers, so she always tells people (including me!) to groom their dogs at home. But now that I’ve told her all about Evelyn and what good care she takes of my pup, my aunt has started asking me to bring HER dogs here too!!! That’s how good she is.

We recently took in an elderly dog, and brought her in for what I think was her first ever trip to a groomer. She has a VERY thick undercoat and I wasnt sure how shed react to being handled by strangers.Everyone at Doggie Dearest was so kind and gentle with her. I cant believe how transformed she was after just an hour. She came out looking and feeling (and smelling) like a brand new dog! We will definitely be back!!

I have brought my dog there for several grooms, all okay. I do not know Evelyns politics, but i strongly believe politics should be discussed by anyone anywhere. Ideally we all listen to each other when that happens, rather than saying that politics is taboo. .

So glad i found Doggie Dearest! Our dog Finn doesn’t need complicated grooming, but he does need more trimming than i can do at home. Evelyn and her team are caring and skilled, and she takes the time to discuss services clearly — Finn leaves her shop happy and looking great! The price is very reasonable, and Evelyn has super helpful tips about dog care and behavior. Highly recommended.
