Really attentive vet who took the time to explain observations during his exam and walk us through her vaccines and suggested supplements / further checkups. The staff were also really friendly and treated our dog with loving care. Also importantly they explained options/recommendations and were very transparent about pricing and options so we could make our own decision rather than being surprised at a bill (which happened at our last vet - Riverside vet clinic, do not recommend). We were really happy with our first visit and will be back soon for her booster shots! Thank you!

They were helpful and answered all of my questions. My dog had all of his teeth removed and they truly showed compassion towards him and me. They walked me through everything and were clear about the cost. It was a pricey procedure but it was actually a little less that what was estimated and again, nothing took me by surprise. I recommend this practice.As an update: My dog had to go to the ER (Animal Medical Center). I scheduled another appointment and they have been nothing but supportive, clear and informative. I feel so lucky to find such a caring veterinarian practice that follows up and cares!

This hospital did so well with my puppy and they knew it was his first time going to the vet and they knew how to take care of him. They made sure that he was safe throughout the visit and made sure that he had fun even while getting his vaccine. The team of nurses and doctors and their staff are took great care of my dog. They accommodated a procedure after my dog’s surgery at a different hospital and were organized and scheduled an appointment in line with my availability and the discharge papers.

My pet suffered an injury to her ear, and two days later, it was still bleeding & needed surgery that day! I was seen within two hours; her ear was sewn up, and she had pain medication and oral antibiotics for 14 days ... her follow-up to remove the stitches went seamlessly ... they are very accommodating professionals and nice.

It’s already a nervous experience to send my baby Dune in for rabies shot at the time like this. It was her very first time at the vet and she had to be by herself. But, when I came to pick her up, she had big smile on her face and that made her mama really relieved. The staffs are friendly, understanding and efficiently explained to me the procedures. They are communicative with any extra things I need to know. They reached out to me afterwards about her test result and check up on her healthy for any allergies. All in all, of course I don’t want to see them often but when I do, I know Dune is in good hand.

We’re going through the process of moving her to Japan with us. since Japan is a rabies free country there is lots of shots and paperwork that must be done perfectly for Japan to accept her.I recommend these vets to take care of your pet if you’re moving internationally. Weve been going to Heart of Harlem Vet Clinic for over 5 years. We have a French Bulldog / Boston Terrier mix and Dr. Sola and the staff at HoH have taken great care of her! They are kind, thorough and make sure to give pricing before any procedures are done. They also take a wide range of pet insurances. The only reason Im giving this place 4 stars is because during the Pandemic, the office was a bit disorganized. My dog got sick in October of 2020 and so I dropped her off multiple times to be seen and checked out. Often wed have to wait 6 hours between drop off and pick up and when we got her back the doctor would have only partially looked her over (because we werent there to reinforce the multiple things she was being seen for). So for instance, shed be sent home with an anti-diarrheal medication but the doctor would have forgotten to look at her ears (which were inflamed/infected). I totally understand and actually applaud Dr. Sola and his team for implementing strong COVID precautions to keep everyone safe. However, I do believe a few things fell between the cracks. That being said, if you are a pet owner in Harlem, this is a wonderful Vet clinic and Id highly recommend them.

I cant thank Dr. Sola and his staff, especially Kaitlin and Taesha enough. After my Senior pup started showing some serious signs of illness. I rushed her to an emergency animal Hospital in lower Manhattan around 3am in the morning. My Winter was diagnosed with a closed pyrometra (a uterus full of pus). If it ruptured it would have killed her..She needed immediate surgery. The cost was extremely high at the Emergency Hospital. I had a 3 hour wait until our vet open. Once 9am arrived before I could call, Kaitlin called me. We discussed the price. I arrived, Taesha answered all of my questions and Dr. Sola worked his magic. They saved my Winter s life. I will be forever grateful. There is no words to express how impressed I was with their service. I Always loved taking my dogs here for routine check ups, their service is very good but had no idea they dealt with emergencies. Great work Guys I thank you from the bottom of my ❤️

Top notch!!!I rescued Larson (my adorable retired medical research Beagle) in November 2018. Having lived the first 11 months of his life in a laboratory, I am determined to make him forget his unfortunate start in this world and give him the best life possible. I tried several daycare and dog walking services but was sadly disappointed by most of them. I met a fellow dog mom at the St. Nicholas dog run who highly recommended HOH. I stopped in to check it out and was immediately impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. I had to bring Larson in for an evaluation and appreciated the due diligence they take to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all of the dogs. He is a very sweet boy, so he passed with flying colors.The entire staff at HOH is wonderful - Dr. Sola, the receptionists, licensed veterinary nurses, assistants, groomers and all of the pet care team members. Communication is key and the staff was completely transparent in letting me know if anything unusual happened during the day and I would receive daily updates via text or email with pictures and videos (one of my favorite photos was taken at HoH).Another great thing about HOH is that it is a one-stop-shop for all of your pet care needs: daycare, boarding, dental, grooming and medical services. I tried them all and was always pleased with the knowledge and skills of the staff. I wholeheartedly trusted everyone and knew that Larson was receiving the great care, along with so much love. He established several doggy friendships and would come home exhausted from playing (see photo).I recently moved out of Harlem and the hardest part was leaving HOH behind, although they have assured me that we will always be family. We came to appointment on time but were then asked to wait for more than an hour in a very cold treatment room. No one showed up to even check or update on why the doc is taking so long. Usually this doesn’t happen here . Overall the place is very nice and never had a bad experience or care.

My pet Travis had an ear infection, they gave me precise instructions on what I needed to do. The prices were reasonable and affordable in my opinion. The staffs are friendly and helped me when I had questions and concerns. Dr. Sola and staff are truly amazing and had so much patiences with my dog (he hates when anyone touch his ears & doesn’t like to be touch by people he doesn’t know). They made sure everything in the room was clean before they took us inside. And the service is pretty fast we were done in an hour for both visits! Will definitely come again if anything happens!

They’re amazing. You can really tell the people here actually care about animals and it’s not just about money. I first went to Heart of Harlem when my senior dog, who had kidney disease, needed to be hospitalized because he was end-stage. It was a very difficult and emotional time for me, and everyone was so kind and understanding. When I adopted a new dog, I took him to Heart of Harlem and Dr. Sola remembered my older dog and we hugged. I want to give a shout out to Kelani, Venessa and Karina, who were all extremely helpful when I wanted to take my new dog with me on a trip . I tend to be a little neurotic and ask a lot of questions but they were completely patient when answering me. I will continue to come to themfor many years to come, and I wholeheartedly recommend them. They really do try to work with you.P.S. Always remember to be kind to frontline staff who work at vet offices. I know we sometimes come to them when we are scared and in a dire situation, but remember that they really are trying to help us and do their job.

Dr. Sola and Kevin were very caring and kind. Everything was explained clearly and costs were preemptively given. Kevin helped out with all of my questions and concerns and was such an angel. Their professional and friendly care exceeded my expectations and experiences at other vet offices in the area. My dog went in for a routine checkup and nail clip and they found a broken tooth that had apparently been there for a while. Dr. Sola explained the recommended treatment and gave me an estimate of costs. Lovely human beings who really care about animals and their wellbeing. I’m happy to be a new client and my dog, Nox, made some new friends. Highly recommend.Edit: Julissa is awesome as well! My doggo is very important and the staff here don’t make me feel the need to make that clear; They treat them as such on principle. They’re a bit pricey compared to other clinics but you get what you pay for. As i mentioned, my dog had a broken tooth that his previous vet missed for years but Dr. Sola found within minutes of his wellness exam. They also gave me a discount on my estimate for a dental extraction which included an in-depth, itemized invoice. I wish I had found this place sooner.xoxo thank you!

When I called to get an appointment for my new adopted cat, they said they were very busy but I was able to get in the next week which honestly wasn’t bad compared to other vets I contacted in the city. They were very honest and up front about the cost of service at every step. They sent detailed emails about the drop-off procedure and how they are making sure to maintain safety standards during the pandemic. I appreciated the convenience of being able to drop off my cat before work and pick her up on my lunch break. While they were treating my cat, they noticed she needed a vaccine and called me to verify I was okay with the cost before proceeding. Unfortunately, my cat had a reaction to her treatment but they were so kind about it and let me bring her back in that same night for an allergy shot at no additional cost. They also checked in a day later to make sure she was feeling better. It seems like really do care for their patients and I appreciate their honesty and kindness.

My cat suddenly became very ill and after calling several clinics on an emergent basis, my husband happened to be driving by this clinic and we took a shot. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. Although it was very late in the afternoon, rhe staff was extremely compassionate and welcomed my cat as a new patient. She was seen, thoroughly tested, treated, and referred to a specialist. After her treatment, she bounced back within a matter of hours. Although the testing has diagnosed a terminal illness, the care the staff has given and continues to give will always be appreciated. I highly recommend this Veterinary clinic.

Brought my cat here for the first time, I was more than impressed! The staff in the office were all so friendly. The check-in process and wait time were both quick. The decor of the office was very appealing. Dr. Sola was excellent, he was so friendly and great with my cat. The exam was thorough and he provided some great information and resources specifically for my cats needs. They recommended a diet food but didn’t push the sale as they do at most places. I felt the price was very reasonable for the visit. I will definitely recommend this vet clinic to friends. You will feel confident you took your pet to a knowledgeable and trustworthy veterinarian when you leave.

I don’t know if our experience with Heart of Harlem could have been better. My dog was throwing up unexpectedly and I called first thing in the morning and they got him in the same day! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I felt really safe leaving my dog there even though I couldn’t stay in due to covid 19. I love that the vet called to review the visit and then sent the pricing estimates ahead of time so I knew what I was getting into before he gave my dog any actual treatment. They also had a nurse text check in the next day! (Our pup is feeling all better by the way) We will definitely be making Heart of Harlem our new regular vet.

I truly loved my experience at heart of harlem. I am a first time pet owner, I have a kitten, and was extremely nervous about taking him to the vet. He’s very attached to me and I was a bit nervous dropping him off but the staff made sure not to only put me at ease but my cat Niko as well. When I got there, I told them how nervous I was and how Niko was nervous too. The receptionists asked if they can help and started to pet him and entertain him until the tech came out to get him, once the tech came they also played with him and made him feel really safe. Once I left, I even called to check in on him and they sent me a photo so I knew my boy was okay. Heart of Harlem cared for Niko like he was their pet and it means a lot to me. I was also happy with how thoroughly they explained the vaccine process, they took their time to educate me so I can make informed decisions. Thanks guys

During COVID the appointments are drop off only which is good to keep everyone safe but I miss being able to talk to the vet directly with all my questions as a new dog owner but they have been good responding by email or phone to minor issues. Several times they gave us recommendations to treat issues at home (like diarrhea) before/instead of making an appointment which we appreciate and shows they are not only for the money but considering the best for the pet. While I cant say my puppy is thrilled to go to the clinic she seems fairly ok going there and always seems properly taken care of. We are happy with them.

Highly recommend! Had to get a travel certificate for my pup and some other paperwork. They even emailed me a form that the airline needed the day of flight, which I really appreciated it. My dog usually is nervous at the vet but was calm and excited to meet the staff even after her examination. Their hours are great as they are open early and close later.

Dr. Sola and the team at Heart ofHarlem are some of the most caring, attentive and knowledgeable animal care specialists I have ever known. They took excellent care of our Corgi, Nikolai for the past five years up until the end of his life a couple of days ago at 15 and half years old. Always transparent with pricing, understanding and patient with us as owners, we have been oh so grateful for them for the care they gave our friend. When we reached the end of our time with our pup, they provided empathy, kindness and love to both him and us as we made the difficult decision to send him on his journey over the rainbow bridge. My husband, Alek and I will be forever grateful to this wonderful place for providing our family member with a dignified end to his wonderful life.

Ive been going to this vet for the last 6 months. Even though its far from my house I go out of my way because the staff is unlike any other Ive been to.In the last week my dog unfortunately ate poison and I was very close to losing him. I never thought Id see him again. Things were not looking good and I was beyond myself. Everyone was very comforting and attentive to me in moment of despair. No false promises or claims just that they would do the best they could do. During the whole ordeal they were friendly and understanding gave me constant updates of how my dog was doing and I was able to rest knowing he was in the best hands he could be in. I was a nervous wreck considering my dog was in terrible shape and Id have to leave him at the vet for a few days. They recognized how hard it was for me to leave him and in turn let me visit him the following day and kept me in the loop answered all my calls and never lost patience with me. A few days later my dog was given back to me recovered and almost back to his regular energetic self. Even if he hadnt been I would still write this review. The whole team genuinely cares for animals and their owners it shows and makes ALL the difference.I have and will continue to recommend this Dr Luis Sola and his amazing team to everyone that owns a pet.

Overall, this is a wonderful practice with caring and attentive staff. They took wonderful care of my kitten and swiftly diagnosed his digestive issues.Just a few concerns:Gave me a wait estimate of 2 hours, called me after 3 saying they’d call back in 15 minutes, then i had to follow up twice in an additional hour and then in two. It would’ve been nice to have more transparent communication. Further, the doctor kept referring to my male cat as she. It just made me feel a little less secure that she was paying attention.

I took my cat for a nail trim here, and I had a fabulous experience. The office is very clean and calming, and their front office staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I was worried about bringing my cat to a new vet because he freaks out at every appointment I take him to (i.e. attacks groomers and vets), but the vet and vet assistants were so patient and sweet with him. This is the third place Ive taken my cat to to get his nails cut, and this is the first time that they were actually successful in cutting all of his nails without having him be too stressed out. I will definitely continue using this office in the future, and am recommending this place to all of my friends with pets. You will be so happy with this office if you go and will actually feel like you can trust them with your pet(s).

I recently started going to Heart Of Harlem this year. This place in incredible! Staff is always kind and never have attitudes. Ive been there more than once and never encountered an angry or frustrated staff. The office is extremely clean and spotless. When entering you feel confident that your pet is in good hands. Dr. Sola works wonders!! My dog had a really bad allergy infection, Dr. Solas ran test (None that wasnt needed) he found the problem, prescribed medicine and two weeks later i had a healthy puppy!! They also contact you the day after to see how your pet is feeling, which I find really nice. I recommend anyone who has a pet to go to the Heart Of Harlem!

Not only are the receptionists lovely and work with you to find a good time for appointments, but the facility is really beautifully set up and made both us and our cats feel right at home. The nurses and vets are friendly and knowledgeable, and make sure that you are seen at your appointment time. Definitely the best vet office in the city - 10/10 recommend!

I didnt even know if a vet would be open during the COVID 19 lockdown and so I was thrilled to find that Heart of Harlem was. My first impression was their website which gave a detailed explanation of how they were operating during the lockdown and I appreciated knowing exactly what to expect. They responded to my email query immediately and I was able to get an appointment even sooner than I expected. Even behind their protective masks, the staff was both professional, courteous and kind to both me and my pet. And every protocol laid out on the website was followed during the appointment. The next day after I brought him home they called to see how he was doing. And I was relieved to hear from the vet a few days later that my pets tests came back negative. Taking a sick pet to the vet is a very anxiety producing experience in the best of times. Everyone at Heart of Harlem is a true gem. We took our 10yr old pit bull in to get checked for an infection which ended up needing emergency surgery and they took such amazing care of her. They kept us informed about her every step of the way, were incredibly helpful, attentive, patient, they answered all our questions, walked us through all scenarios— the nurses and dr were so thorough in answering our questions. After the surgery the sent us updates on her with pictures. They took what could have been the most stressful and horrifying situation, especially during Covid, and helped us through it with such grace and patience. I loved the experience! I appreciated the whole experience. My pup is pretty sick - UTI and Pancreatitis. I came here for a second opinion. I had brought my newly adopted dog to them when we first got her in March. Last week, while taking our morning walk, our dog got injured on a fallen tree guard. I called right away and they fit us in a very busy day, stitched her up and helped us every step of the way. I had lots of questions and concerns. The outlook was grim and while I was delivered some bad news, the vet tech held me tight while I cried my eyes out. They stayed open a few hours past closing while trying to stay positive for little Leo. Not once was I rushed out the door or made to feel like an inconvenience. I was too emotional and worn-out to let them know just how much I appreciated that.Leonidas (I named him later that same night because he is a warrior!) made it and still loves it there! After explaining the situation to the reception staff on the phone, they were immediately able to identify what steps needed to be taken in order to get everything done for us. Customer service is top notch. During this time of COVID and social distancing, the front of office staff were quick, efficient, and caring. You walk in, talk with a Vet Tech, and hand off your furbaby. You receive an estimated length of time to complete the examination and you leave the office. I was given a 2 hour estimate and it was exactly right. The vet called me, spoke about the examination and outcomes, and invited you back in. The vet tech followed up with the orders and prescriptions and an estimate. When I arrived back, the vet tech went over the orders and Medicines then the front of office staff checked me out, including filing the pet insurance claim. It was a very streamlined experience while still providing personal care. After my Vet (Dr. Obenesser) who I love retired, I was worried about finding the same care and compassion. Heart of Harlem is my new vet and I couldnt be happier! One word of caution. If you have mobility issues or have difficulties maneuvering stairs, HOH is not an accessible building. It is up a flight of stairs to reach the offices.

My first time going to Heart of Harlem and the staff was very courteous and prepared due to the circumstances to the Covid 19 pandemic was still able to treat my pet in a professional and safe way. I wish I had known about Hearts of Harlem sooner for taking pet of my pet.Thank you team and staff!!

This is the first Vet I’ve ever visited. The place is very clean. I find the staff very professional. The Dr. Sola take precautionary measure with treating your pet. I respect honesty! Yes, treatment is pretty expensive; however if one intends on having pets healthcare cost, remember that! I’m happy that we found a vet close by for RoRo.

Dr. Sola is a dedicated and caring vet, he has treated my dog Bella on multiple occasions. I really appreciate that he takes such good care of Bella, she is a very shy dog and Dr. Sola made her feel at ease right away. He has always made a clear diagnosis and offered a budget friendly treatment, as well as offering ways to monitor and prevent anymore illness. I dont know what Bella and I would do with out him! My experience with Dr. Sola has been exceptional! We brought our dog Camila when she was a puppy and needed much care to be brought to good health. She was a stray puppy. After Dr. Solas care, all of Camilas health issues were resolved. She has now grown into a happy, healthy dog. We have much to be grateful for. Dr. Sola is knowledgable, friendly, thorough and affordable! I definitely recommend him to everyone!

I like the heart of Harlem vet clinic. The staff makes you feel welcome and are very professional. The clinic emails you updates regarding your pet. They charge for exam and consultation they are a little expensive, but overall the services are excellent

Heart of Harlem Veterinarian is the best experience I had. I usually panic when going to vets office because in the past all alternatives for Mingo (Cat) where to put him to sleep.
