Thankfully a friend tipped us off to Snowballs, and we (and Lucy too!) could not be happier. Everyone there is gentle and compassionate with our girl, who was a little nervous at first, and while I still dont think shes entirely comfortable with the whole experience, Lucy does very well under their care. The Snowballs team is accommodating, friendly, and experienced, and Lucy comes out looking great. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

We dont have a pet to take here, but the guys who work here always let our kids stare in the window at the dogs and theyre super friendly and you can just tell they actually care about the animals and the work they do! A few years ago they helped us rescue a baby pigeon too, its really a great place that clearly love animals and a great asset to the neighborhood!

I love Snowball! I’ve been bringing my Maltese, Tiggy, to them for about 6 years. They always do a beautiful job, keep on schedule, and are super nice people. Even as Tiggy has gotten older and more crotchety (she’s 15), they have been so patient and gentle with her. They also have competitive prices. I highly recommend them!

They went out of their way to make friends with my dog before bringing her inside. Listened to what we wanted and did exactly what we asked. Kept us informed and did a great job. Best cut she’s ever had and they’re great to work with!

Amazing staff - so friendly and calm! I brought my cat in to get her nails trimmed and Id never seen her so comfortable getting her paws touched. They handled her with such care and confidence and we were in and out in 10 minutes. I will definitely be taking her back here the next time her nails get long - I am so impressed!

Snowball’s Pet Grooming Salon is the only place to have your pet’s grooming needs taken care of on the UWS! I would come to Snowball’s with Princess even if I lived on the East Side of town or Downtown💙 The owner and his staff are passionate about their work and treat the pets like their own!

Absolutely amazing for clipping cats nails, which is hard to find! My cat is usually panicked during the process and still very shaken when she gets home, but she was very calm. They used a cat blinder to cover her eyes (none of the fear from seeing dogs) and kept the room very quiet. They whole process was done in just a few minutes and their price was reasonable. They do recommend calling ahead to schedule a time so they can facilitate the process smoothly.

I have to hand it to the outstanding staff at Snowballs! I brought my two small dogs, who hate having baths and are very loud about it, to Snowballs for the first time this week. Everyone was exceptionally kind, you can tell they truly love dogs. On top of that, my dogs had probably the best grooming they’ve ever had, they left looking and smelling fantastic. The price was very reasonable. I’ll definitely be returning and I highly recommend them.

I’ve been going to Snowball’s for years, I love this place! They’re so sweet and always do a great job with my dogs bath and blow dry. My only complaint is you should make an appointment in advance because they get way too booked up for last minute appointments 😅

Ive brought my maltese poodle rescue Dakota to Snowballs since I adopted him 3 years ago. They are absolutely superb - warm and caring toward us both and always perform magnificent grooming on him. So much so that each time I walk him home afterward people stop me to ask where I take him for grooming. I am concerned that this review will bring even more people in to use their services making it more difficult for me to schedule his regular appointment. Still, they are such lovely people as well as excellent at what they do I want to make sure they stay in business in a changing economy and real estate atmosphere in New York City..

They are victim’s of their own success. They are so popular, I don’t think it’s possible to use them if you’re new, but beg them if you need to. They are the best in the neighborhood by a long shot.

It was the first time having my dog in NYC. I switched to this place after seeing my dog panting (due to the heat) from the other groomer. He took his time to understand the haircut I want for my dog, and even show me how short/long the cut will turned out to be. Very respectful. You can see them grooming your dog from the window. One down side is that they are booked three weeks an advance (but you will see why this is after taking your dog here), so I always make sure I book it for the next appointment whenever I go pick up my dog.UPDATE #1: I came back to NYC after the pandemic, and I ended up moving to the UES. I took my dog to the nearby groomers, and I regretted so much for that. One didnt even come close to what I want for my dog (hair was way too long and I couldnt even tell if my dog got a haircut or not) and the other one dragged my dog into the bath in front of me (seriously?). So I waited for the appointment at Snowball, and I cant be more satisfied. They all worked so hard to recreate the look I told them about, and they are always so gentle with my dog. I even randomly ran into someone in this neighborhood, and she only had good thing to talk about the Snowball. highly highly recommend!

I loved how they were able to make time for me and my baby on such a short notice and took care of us almost immediately after we got there. I was able to see how they groomed my dog, there was one person holding him and caressing him while another trimmed his hair. L definitely be back!
