My 5 month old puppy got her 1st hair cut today. Joe, the new owner, groomed her himself. Maisy loved him. It was a wonderful experience. This place is under new ownership and now has an adorable selection of toys. Highly recommend

Just took my dog here to get groomed for the first time and she looks GREAT! Im very picky about where I take my dogs to be groomed as I have two sensitive dogs who arent the most cooperative and I always want to make sure they are being treated well. When I picked her up she seemed very happy and unfazed which is a WIN. I will definitely be back! The place was very clean and Joey was really nice, you can tell he loves animals. If you havent found a groomer yet or are looking for a better deal in the neighborhood check this place out. Highly Recommend! Also they do have a bath option which is cheaper and kind of a steal if you want to keep your dog looking awesome 24/7.

We adopted Gracie last week, happy but neglected, well in need of a good cut. TRD managed to squeeze us in last minute to work around our hectic schedule. We literally got a Princess Diaries-level transformation. Eat your heart out, Mia.

My cat was groomed by Joey who was great. He was ready for my cat at scheduled time, and he called me 10mins earlier than estimated time that hed be done. He was really nice and thoughtful of my cat and how I wanted my cat to be groomed. Id be back again.

Joey is such a caring and expert groomer. I brought my small terrier mix that I rescued a week ago and Joey discovered that her nail tips had grown into her paws and he relieved her pain and transformed her I can tell she can’t wait to return. Thanks, Joey!

The best groomer my dog has been to! I just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to try out a new dog groomer. She came back looking amazing, and was in a great mood when I came to pick her up. You can tell they really love dogs there, will be bringing her back :)

It was a good experience. Stephanie and Lucia were so nice and I felt like I was leaving my best friend in good hands. When I went to pick him up he looked great and was happy. If you own a dog you know what I am saying he was calm and happy like he just didnt get groomed. Thank you both for taking care of my boy.

Joey was fantastic! He listened to all my requests, my Maltese looked gorgeous when she was done. He is super nice and you can tell he loves dogs. I am picky and this will be my new go-to place. AIso, the place is modern, clean, quiet...and Joey wore a mask the whole time.

Such kind friendly staff. I was able to get a last minute appointment for grooming my dog within the hour. They take beautiful posed pictures of the dogs afterwards with a cute background (you can see examples on their instagram). My dog looked beautiful!

Update: Sadly, we stopped using Royal Dogs over the last two years given the business is hardly ever open, scheduling is clunky, and Joey seems to have stepped away materially from what was a budding business.I cannot say enough about Joey and The Royal Dogs. We have a golden retriever and shih tzu, both of whom he does an amazing job with. He knows what he’s doing and he genuinely loves dogs (just look at his gorgeous afghan hound who hangs around the studio!). Our shih tzu in particular is terrified of being groomed but she always seems to come back home happy instead of napping for hours afterward from the stress. Awesome job, Joey!

Really excellent experience with this groomer. Our Australian Shepherd was taken care of well and he looked stunning after his grooming and washing. Would recommend. Will definitely be back.

An Upper East Side MUST! We have been taking our dog, Moose here for the past few months and we absolutely love Joey and his team. They treat Moose like their own dog—always giving him the royal treatment. Weve tried several groomers in the area, and this is by far the best one. If Moose loves it, your dog will, too!

I have been bringing my Afghan Hound (large dog/long hair) for monthly baths & grooming since 2020, and it is the best experience weve had! Lots of personal attention, and excellent grooming products for my dog.

Took my very squirmy puppy there for his first grooming and they were so amazing and really made sure he was comfortable and did a beautiful job! I cant wait until the city allows the day care/boarding to open (cant yet because of covid) because Ill definitely be using them!

We took our 2-year old Siberian long hair cat to be bathed and groomed here. Joey did an excellent job! He coordinated the time so there were no dogs at the shop when he got groomed. He took roughly two hours and showed he really cared about his work. We will definitely take our cat back here to be groomed by Joey!
