Daisy, my teacup Morkie, has been going to Gracia for about 13 years now. On e or twice I have had to take Daisy somewhere else and it’s always been a major let down. Daisy loves Gracia and I do to. And Gracia loves dogs! She is the reason I bring Daisy for grooming at UAH. And I don’t take Daisy anywhere else.

My dog recently had an injury. I took him once a week for around 6 visits to Dr. Zola and the animal technician Chrissy. My dog’s care was exemplary.He was evaluated carefully. The problem was accurately diagnosed. My dog was handled gently and professionally. Everything was explained to me thoroughly. I was particularly pleased with Dr. Zola’s approach to be patient and not rush with unnecessary procedures. He did the x-rays that were indicated. There were no unnecessary charges.Most importantly my dog’s fracture has been healing nicely and he is back to walking. The care was superb.

The staff goes way above and beyond the call of duty - calling promptly to give updates on stool samples and bloodwork, cooperating with the unusual situation of my being out of state in Florida (to care for my father who has cognitive decline) and having my roommates God-daughter bring in our cat. I have full confidence in Dr. Chan as our Veterinarian. It is a pleasure and a blessing to do business with University Animal Hospital. I cant say enough good things about their excellent service!

UAH vets and staff did amazing work helping us get our dog, Fiona, an animal health certificate for travel to the UK (and beyond). From our first conversation with the front desk staff, to Fiona’s health exam, and ultimately receiving her certified documentation, all elements of the process were thoroughly explained to us and the process itself went along like clockwork. We can’t thank the staff at UAH enough for all of their help (and we’re now heading off on our journey.)

If I could give Dr Zola and Lisa Braunstein 10 stars I would!! I contacted their office in a panic 2 days ago concerning my pet’s travel certificate to England because I was having so much trouble and even more stress with the entire process with the getting the travel certificate approved for travel in 3 days. Lisa spent the time to explain the process and gave me such support for my situation. I had follow-ups with her and she was so fantastic! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I would 100% recommend University Animal Hospital to anyone looking to travel with their pet, and start the process with them from the outset and not deal with pet travel agencies.

The best! It’s run so thoughtfully. The veterinarians are thorough, communicative, and honest. I know my dog is receiving the absolute best care. What sets UAH apart is their genuine belief in pet owners’ concerns - never making you feel silly for expressing worries about your pet’s health, a refreshing change from my biggest complaint with other practices. They really work in partnership with pet owners, and it makes a world of difference in the level of care. The front desk staff are warm, knowledgeable, and truly pleasant. There’s such a homey atmosphere here, I really wish I found this place sooner.

I had such a great experience with this vet. I was very nervous around Thanksgiving time to get my dog an international pet certificate signed by the USDA in time, but they signed it the same day and sent immediately thanks to Alyssa at this vet! They are extremely organized and knowledgeable about this process and it went so efficiently I am so grateful I was able to take my dog back to Europe with no issues. Ive been taking my pets to University Animal Hospital for over 25 years. They have always been attentive, caring and compassionate. I first started taking my Yellow Lab to UAM. The most serious issue was when she ingested poisoned meatballs while I was visiting a friend in Staten Island. They had been placed in the yard to keep neighboring cats away by my friends mother. The type of poison was used in the South to kill coyotes. Thanks to the help of Dr. Zola, she survived! Now, I have been taking my French Bulldog named Gizzy to UAM. She is now 14 years old. About a year ago, she developed an enlarged esophagus and could not hold down food which led to pneumonia. Dr. Chan treated her and he did an amazing job! Neither of us thought she would make it through the weekend, but miraculously she did! A few weeks ago, Gizzy contracted Pyometra which is a deadly bacterial infection in the uterus. I can now say she made a full recovery and is doing as good as can be expected for a 14 year old Frenchie! Dr. Chan has been nothing short of amazing in taking care of Gizzy!

Dr. Zola is amazing. Absolutely the best, most responsive, thoughtful, caring and intelligent vet I could hope for. He and the entire staff are outstanding. I would never take my animals anywhere else. My cats (and I) love his nurse, Krissy Sargeant OConnor and the women who work the front desk, Alyssa and Carolann. My dad has dogs who used to be patients but moved out of state and to this day, we still seek Dr. Zolas thoughts on their local diagnoses. I would NEVER take my animals to anyone else. My 5 year old dog was very sick over thanksgiving weekend and Dr. Zola met me at the office to see my dog. He was incredibly thorough and caring and made me feel much more comfortable that my dog was going to be okay. He checked back with me that evening and the following 2 days.Additionally, the office staff also called to check up on my dog , give results and see if I had any other questions or issues. This is the first time I have ever had a sick pet, my previous routine checkups have always been wonderful, but the care for this illness was superior, above and beyond what I could have hoped for and needed. Everyone should use this office for their veterinary care!

My dog is a part of my family. I have taken her to a vet once or twice a year since I got her in 2010. After going to UAH, it felt like it was the first time I had ever been to a vet! First, the front desk staff was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Then when I met Doctor Zola, I was blown away. He spent so much time with my dog! Going over her history, answering all my questions. Dr Zola noticed a condition that my dog had for some time, and not only did he treat it, he diagnosed WHY it was happening. He has such a knowledge and passion for animals, I am so happy I found him. And honestly, price wise, I did not pay anymore than I had previously paid at my vet in Queens, but I definitely got way more! Its also a one stop here, as they have grooming as well. And every dog that came out, looked so beautiful! I cant wait to get my baby groomed here. Its a beautiful office, great location, and 2 parking garages located on the same street. I could not be happier!

Dr Zola and Dr Bucalo are our favorites but everybody is really good and very professional. As always, the staff at UAH was fantastic and helpful when I brought my 3 year old dog in for a problem. I was not sure whether or not something was truly a problem, but they gave me their complete ,100 percent attention and evaluation. While the issue may have been nothing at all, I was worried and Dr Zola did everything to assure me that there was no significant problem with both a thorough physical exams and xrays.In addition, before I left they reminded me that my dog needed the most important flu shot as well as the appointment for a follow up neededsecond dose. This was my first non routine visit for my dog and they proved themselves once again to be above and beyond professional, kind and helpful. The only place I would ever take my dog!

Dr. Zola and Lisa have taken the best care of my two cats. Being a young cat owner I always fear that I will be taken advantage of since I am not well versed in the veterinarian education. Lisa and Dr. Zola have always been honest and educational when I have had questions or concerns about my two cats. They never try and over charge me for anything or recommend unnecessary treatments and as a result I have two very happy and healthy cats!

So many dogs are terrified of coming to the vet. Mine? Forgets all of her manners because she is so excited to see the team at UAH. The minute we make it on the block she is bristling with enthusiasm to get to and through the door. She then proceeds to try to zip around the desk to say hello to the front desk team. The front desk team always greets us warmly and are great to chat with if you have to wait.Dr. Zola spent considerable time with me when I brought her home at three months old going through all of her vaccinations, giving me advice on things to look out for with the breed (brachycephalic French Bulldogs and all the breathing issues!), making a plan for her to be spayed (so many different opinions out there!), and being just generally warm, funny and friendly.Her spay surgery went very well. They kept her overnight and gave me updates throughout the day. She barely has a scar.She sees Dr. Chan regularly now who has been fantastic at helping to resolve some allergy and dermatitis issues shes had. I appreciate how good they are about knowing when to have you visit the office vs giving you advice on the phone (my wallet appreciates that too!).Last but certainly not least . . . Gracia. My pup is in love with Gracia who provides grooming at UAH and really gives the dogs a true s-paw day. Her ears perk up if she hears Gracias voice while at UAH. Its really adorable and a testament to how warm and loving she is with your pet.I highly recommend the team at UAH to any pet parents -- they really make your pet feel like they are at home.

Ive been bringing my Maltipoo Joey to them for 5 years now( hes now almost 16). While they, like most other vets in NYC, are far from inexpensive my feeling is you get what you pay for. The entire staff from reception through the support staff,and of course the doctors, care about your experience. It is easy to schedule an appointment and the follow up is wonderful. I ALWAYS receive a call the next day to see how Joey is doing. Dr. Zola and the other doctors never rush me through the appointment. I wish my own doctor showed as much attention and passion as they do!

I was recommended to come to this clinic from where I purchased my pup and I have to say that Im gladly satisfied with the treatment and services that are provided. Ive been reading along the comments and especially taking note on the negativity. One that mainly caught my eye is on how expensive it was!! $$$!! You have to put it into consideration where this location is, the services they offer for your furry friend and the fact that it is your responsibility for whatever your pet needs. The staff that work there are highly educated and professional. I rather know the whole run down of my dogs life instead of the moment type deal. Dr. Zola is awesome, professional, funny and he really takes his time to educate you with all the information in the world.

Dr. Zola gives such a thorough and gentle examination, finding things in my dogs paws and cutting them out so gently! I didnt even know my poor dog was walking around with these matted hairballs in between his toes. I got an appointment right away with vet Dr. Diane and she spent two hours trying to help us figure out what the real issue was - and she did! Carol Anne, the receptionist is kind, and genuinely cares about all of these animals. The waiting room was spot less, the staff warm and friendly, and Dr. Diane helped me to identify the mystery behind my dogs illness. The dogs werent afraid - an anomaly, as usually they hate vets offices. Their tails wagged throughout - even though they didnt feel great - and they didnt try to escape! This practice is the real deal - knowledgeable, professional and TRULY in it for the animals!

My very old dog had developed a strange patina over her eye (just one) and it wasn’t glaucoma or cataracts. No one seemed to know what it was and it developed over 9 months. The medicine that was suggested had no effect. I was prepared to go to a dog eye hospital for a gasp inducing $500 fee when I was told that Dr Zola had a special interest in dog eye health and might be able to suss it out. He reviewed the other vet’s tests and opinions, found a small mass on the inside of the eyelid that had been missed altogether, and diagnosed it as an age related deterioration of the cornea that was not able to be treated medically. He did not suggest surgery at her age and I walked out (with Pet Assure) with a bill that was 1/4 of what I would have paid otherwise. He was very professional, the place was spotless, and he is a PennVet graduate. I recommend him without reservation. Such a friendly vet operation- A+

Nothing short of Fantastic! We brought our puppy Corny in to see Dr. Zola a few months ago after hearing positive things about University Animal Hospital from a few people in our building. It was well worth it. The doctor was helpful with our questions (we had many because this is our first puppy) and gave us a lot of information. My big advice? Take a small notepad with you. Dr. Zola will give you a lot of information. I started jotting down suggestions about two minutes into the exam. He talked about vaccines, heartworms, some good house-training tips. I havent had much experience with dogs or puppies so this was helpful. He clearly knows a lot about pet care. He helped us pick out a good food that has since been helping Corny with his tummy issues (puppies + diarrhea = no fun) and suggested some supplements that have been very effective for this issue as well.A month ago we brought Corny in for his Lyme vaccine and a spa-day with their groomer, Gracia. Wow, was she a ball of energy. She seemed to immediately bond with Corny. The first thing she did was sit down in the lobby and as shes petting Corny and talking to him she tells us that she lets the dog set the pace -- because hes a puppy and not used to grooming she wants him to get used to the experience and have a positive association with it. She said Im not a car wash. If you want him in an hour I cant promise that. Leave him with me for the day and let him play. I can go slow and keep him calm. If he wants a break he can play with the other dogs and Ill work on someone else for a bit then come back to him. She basically said her goal is to made Corny happy, not me -- which made me instantly love her. She was honest and basically said Your dog is my #1 priority -- not meeting any time goal etc. That made me feel very at ease.He was there from about 9:30 to 5:30. When I got there to pick him up Gracia brought him upstairs. Corny was clean and seemed extremely happy. Gracia showed me a picture on her phone of him playing with some of her other grooming dogs (she lets them play in the room when shes doing the grooming). She told me he made a friend then showed me a video of them playing. We ended up chatting for a few minutes about treats and his stomach problems, etc. She seemed to really care about Corny. When I went to pay the bill and she went to the back Corny followed her down the hall. I laughed so hard. He didnt want to go home. Im sure he had a good time becauseVisit 3. --- last week we came in to get his second Lyme vaccine and when we rounded the corner of 66th street Corny started pulling me toward the building. When we were there I asked if Corny could say Hi to Gracia and they called her downstairs and asked her to come up. She came running up to Corny and he jumped on her immediately. She asked me about his stomach issues and if he was doing better. She clearly really cares about the dogs. She joked that she was going to keep him and move to Florida. Then she started jumping around with Corny and playing with him in the lobby. Were definitely going to be bringing him here for future haircuts. The free day of day-care with the grooming is such a great bonus. I asked the girl at the front desk if shed ever heard of a dog pulling the owner TO the vet office and she smiled and proceeded to tell me that a lot of Gracias grooming dogs apparently do this. I found that to be a good sign.The prices were also very reasonable compared to the quotes I had gotten from other vets in the area when I called around a few months ago. I didnt call around too much for grooming at that point because I wasnt looking to get him groomed but I didnt think the total charge was outrageous. It seemed pretty fair for the area. I also figure a day of day-care for dogs in the city is pretty pricey so a day of free play-time for free when he gets groom makes it pretty worth it.The staff is very genuine. The nurses Ive dealt with have been very on point. Everyone came across very relaxed and kind. Overall a wonderful experience.

Best vet I’ve ever been to. Dr. Zola is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. The entire staff is so kind and helpful and really made me and my cat feel at home as first time visitors to the vet! Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I travel a lot with my dog and the paperwork can often be very daunting and stressful. Particularly depending on the country. Making certain that everything is done correctly and then making sure the check amount for the US Department of Agriculture is correct was always anxiety inducing. Couple that with something being incorrect and the misery of sending updated papers and hoping you get your documents back on time was enough for me to seek a different option.Ive been going to University Animal Hospital for the last year to take care of this electronically. It has made the travel experience so much more pleasant. This year alone weve visited three times and they are always very thorough regarding my documents and the health of my pet. Ive also always received the endorsed documents back with enough time to allow me to focus on other things and not worry.

Receptionists are warm, welcoming and accommodating. During my last visit, I received a call to come 30 minutes later than my appointment because the doctor was running late. Very considerate to curtail my wait time, certainly appreciated. Dr. Zola’s care of my puppy is always excellent and thorough. Thrilled that the doctor determined during his examination that the serious skin infection was cured after 4 weeks. Puppy is in perfect health. And the doctor is always warm and friendly to me and my dog. Love the efficiency of the email/text appointment reminders. I recommend The University Animal Hospital to anyone seeking solid veterinary care.

A friend suggested we take a shot at University and it has been a match made in heaven. They greet with a smile, stay on schedule, and keep impeccable notes so if either of the primary Docs see Max, they are on track right away. I cant say enough about their expertise, post-care check-ins and responsiveness. Thinking back, our last vet, franchised, was a cartoon, compared to Universitys professionals. Great service still exists!

Since writing our earlier review, we had two more Vet appointments. One was for standard checkup shots and was smooth and professional The other just past was a potential emergency- Sugar Plum is a delicate Persian and is prone to respiratory issues. They made an appointment right away and she responded immediately and stopped coughing and wheezing and we are thankful for the successful visit. Again I highly recommend them.We recently had a potential emergency with our new kitten Sugar Plum. Not only were they able to provide us with an immediate appointment for our first visit but was handled very professionally. The entire staff was responsive, helpful and of course we were relieved and happy all was well. We are happy to have found them and will be Sugars Vet home.They had been recommended to us and we will recommending them to other pet owners if asked.

I’m writing a long overdue review of Dr. Lynsey Brandwein. I had an opportunity to meet Dr. Brandwein during her tenure at Hickory Hospital in Philadelphia when my beloved cat was hospitalized. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Brandwein. She was extremely patient, knowledgeable, dedicated, and comforting. I was going through a very difficult time personally when my furry boy was at his worst, and Dr. Brandwein got us through it. I’m envious of pet parents who are able to access the care and compassion that Dr. Brandwein provides.
