Nicholas is hands down the best groomer I’ve been to! I’ve visited multiple places trying to find the best experience for Remy as he tends to be an anxious boy. Remy immediately loved Nicholas and apparently sat very well for him! His cut is absolutely beautiful and is exactly what I wanted for him. Nicholas also took some “in progress” pictures and kept me updated on Remy which put my mind at ease. I will no longer be looking for a groomer as Nicholas has my business as long as I’m living in Rochester. -

Down Under Grooming does an excellent job of grooming my extra-large leonberger. We see Nick and he is also highly skilled in behavior work. Clients get the best of both worlds with him. The best grooming experience my dog has had. Nick made sure she was comfortable and that I was aware of everything he was doing while grooming Dazii. By far the best experience for both Dazii and myself. He even gave me some tips on how to better manage my dog at home. We definitely recommend his services. -

1st time our pup has ever been to the groomer. Nick handled his anxiety great and got him to calm down for his entire appointment. Nick was very informative and gave us a bunch of great tips. Already scheduled his other appointment! -

Nick was incredible with my timid cavapoo, Teddy. He has a wealth of knowledge and understanding when it comes to working with dogs of all temperaments. I was beyond happy with the service provided and would recommend Down Under to anyone looking for a groomer that truly cares for the animal during the entire process of grooming.The grooming facility is located in the basement of a residential house, but it was easily accessible from outside, well lit, and clean. Nick was very kind and professional; he greeted me and Teddy the moment we pulled up to make sure we found our way. -

Our dog would fight you to the death before letting you clip his nails and he had a very happy and relaxed experience here! Not even a whine, tail wagging and happy. So happy to have found someone to make this experience good for our dog! -

My fiancé and I reached out to Nick after seeing a recommendation for him on Reddit. We had been searching for a groomer for our corgi Beau following a prior traumatizing experience at his last groomer. Our pup is an anxious dog with a lot of personality and we were drawn to the one-on-one experience that allowed him to be groomed without the presence of other dogs. When we reached out to Nick we had an extensive conversation regarding Beau’s temperament and past experiences and he recommended we come to the business and let Beau get used to the environment and him as the groomer. He spent more than an hour with Beau that day letting him get comfortable prior to attempting to initiate any grooming services and took his time trimming his nails at a pace that didn’t overwhelm him. We came back the following week for a full bath/groom and Nick let us remain present for the entire grooming to ease Beau’s anxiety. He handled his big personality and quirks so well. You can tell he has a lot of knowledge regarding animals and their behaviors and above all that he truly loves dogs. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and finding him and trust that Beau is in good hands when he is there. Would definitely recommend! -

Was looking for a groomer and decided to look on Next Door Neighbor for some input. Read a recommendation re Nick at Down Under Grooming. As I was reading, one sentence popped out ...I was able to stay while Nick groomed my dog.Omgosh that was it! I called Down Under Grooming to confirm I could stay with my pooch while Nick was grooming him. The answer was a warm, Yes, and an appointment was made.As soon as we arrived, Nick placed a chair near the dog grooming table at an angle where my pooch could see me as he was getting groomed. Nick explained that he felt a dog would be more relaxed when they could see their owner while being groomed.During the grooming, Nick gave my pooch two breaks so pooch could run around, investigate his surroundings, and of course, I felt that was very intuitive and nice of Nick to do that. Apparently, Nick also trains dogs, which explains Nicks patient nature.Overall, it was a great experience for my pooch and myself. I also learned the following:A word of advice. Please keep up with your dogs grooming. When their fur gets too long or matted, it dulls the shearing tool. The grooming tools have to be professionally cleaned and sharpened approximately every four months and cost quite a bit to have all the tools in top working condition. Matted fur and long fur dull the tools so they can not be used safely until professionally sharpened.Thank you, Nick! Pooch was happy with his grooming experience and looks soooo much better. Im happy too, because I could stay, watch, and learn. Until the next time. -

Absolutely wonderful groomer! I brought my 8-week Great Pyrenees to Down Under grooming and my dog looks amazing! It was my dogs first grooming and the groomer was so gentle and kind to my puppy. -

Nick always does a great job with my sheperd mix. Even when she can sometimes be...less the ruly haha. He knows how to handle dogs that have issues with being groomed, and manages to do so in a relaxed and clean environment. -

Nick did a great job grooming our Mastiff/Rottweiler, “Sherman.” He gave Sherm the TLC he loves. His coat is now healthier with less shedding. 10/10 recommend Nick. Very nice guy with attentional to detail. We will bring Sherman back. -

One of the best grooming experiences I have had with my dogs. He took a great amount of time and care with my nervous doodle. Taking breaks when my dog needed it. He also spent a great deal of time educating me on the care and grooming of a doodle. Looking forward to working with him to get my dog to a place where grooming is not such a fearful event. -

Nick did a great job with my nervous 6 year old long haired dachshunds who had never been groomed before. I was able to stay to help keep them calm which was a great relief to me. They are enjoying their new short coats in muggy Miami!
