The staff were all very friendly and knew the cats personalties, health, and backgrounds pretty well. I was impressed with how nice the place looked and the space they gave all of them. There are so many sweet and loving cats there! The dogs they were walking outside were very nice as well. They would walk up and get pets from everyone. They helped me pick out Forklift and he did not take long to make this his new home and I am very happy with how today went! He has explored, purred, played, and is now sleeping happily on my bed.For those wanting to adopt, this is a great place to find them!

Have been looking for a lionsmane bunny for years. I stumbled upon Nugget last Monday. What an amazing experience the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable and the new facilities were amazing! Everyone had a smile. Nugget is flourishing, and I recommend adoption. Our first dog, Reggie, was a lab/sheppard mix he was the most amazing, kind, special gift we have ever had. All my pets from the SPCA have been the best. Thank you. And if Nuggets family sees this, know he is loved, and you did an amazing job! Please remember these are family members, not gifts.... this bun is free roam and on a farm. Give them the best life ever as you are their world! ❤️ Also, I got a free vet visit within the 1st 10 days... exotics like Nugget are 50 to 60 depending on the vet👍❤️

Went to the Erie county SPCA just to look around. Had several conversations with different staff members and ended up adopting a sweet dog. The staff behaviorist talked to us about him and shared all the information they had on him. And to top it off they were running a promotion so it cost less than it normally would. If you are in the market for a pet I strongly recommend starting at the SPCA, you might just save a life!!!

I had a great experience adopting here. It was a simple process, and they’re great about keeping their website up to date which is nice. Poe (previously Angus) is doing very well, loves hanging out with his new sister, and is a very happy, cuddly boy. So happy to have him.

I was out of $ & needed some cat food & litter for the lil fur family I’ve acquired. I sought out pet food assistance information online & I learned about their pet food pantry & i sent an email explaining my situation. They responded with a welcoming invitation to choose a convenient time to pickup a donation basket for my pets. The process was extremely simple & fast. I thank them kindly for the supplies they provided me.

Came to see if our daughter connected with any of the cats available for adoption and found her new best friend, Mr. Binx. All of the volunteers were extremely helpful, and after meeting us and hearing about the cat we already have, they recommended a couple to meet that they thought would be a good match for our family... And Mr. Binx is absolutely a perfect match for us. Thank you!

I adopted my pitt bull here 6 years ago. Best decision ever. But I keep reporting this poor pitt with not enough leash to sit down makes me sad. Educating the owner hasnt worked. I dont understand why its chained up so tight when it has a large fenced in yard. Its disgusting seeing ppl not care for there pets. And theres a few pics of my pretty little pitty.

Had a stray roaming neighborhood for about 8 months. Posted pics on social media to see if she was someone lost animal. Tried to take her in, lasted 3 days when she ran out door but still hung around all the time. Took her to spca to see if she was chipped n fixed, she got updated shots. Now she is up for adoption. She will make someone very happy.

I adopted these two sisters about 6 months ago. They are now a year old. It was a painless adoption and an overall great experience. It took some time there to make sure they were going to a good home but that’s understandable. The employees were great and I’m very happy to have Meko and Taki!

My boyfriend and I adopted this lil guy, Gnocchi, 1 week ago! I was skeptical at first because Gnocchi was so shy when we went in a private room with him and didn’t want to be touched. But my boyfriend saw something special in him so we decided to bring him home!! Ever since, he’s been such a snuggle bug and full of personality and really loves to play. We are so grateful to the SPCA for making the adoption process so smooth for us and are so happy to have brought home such a loving kitty!

We had some trouble finding a good match for us looking online for a rescue so we decided to take a drive to our local SPCA on Harlem. Little did we know that we would leave with our perfect new family member!!! Scarlett who is now Scarla(our 3yo renamed her) was just so right for us!!! We cannot thank the very helpful staff enough for making this a very easy and stress-free experience!!! We hope anyone reading this review comes and has as good of luck as we did in finding a forever companion/family member. Thank you SPCA of Erie county!!!

I cant recommend this place any more highly! The staff is so very friendly, the facility immaculate, and the animals obviously given the utmost care. We were able to see several cats, one on one, in a private room and this made all the difference in seeing temperament and how they really are. We did have one choose us and went home that day with a wonderful new addition to our home!Thank you, everyone at the SPCA!

Found this poor baby in my backyard, and they took him in immediately for medical care. I called 3 other Rescues in my area and never even received a call back. It was a 65 mile round trip from my house, but after the wonderful care and attentiveness the staff provided, I will make the drive again without hesitation.

We have recently been visiting the SPCA to adopt a cat. Our experience was very pleasant and everyone we encountered was just wonderful. I had been staying away from the SPCA but during COVID they were the only facility to accommodate our family. I am pleased they have a nice staff to accompany their wonderful facility.

The Lipsey Clinic is amazing. My cat was dying and I am disabled I needed a place to work with me on payments. Not only was the staff and the vet SUPER AMAZING AND SO CARING after he passed away there they put a card in with his ashes with everybody signing it. I cannot screamLoud enough how amazing Lipsey Clinic was to my poor sick cat Gizmo. They also take care of my cats Primrose and Patuna. AMAZING CLINIC! The are seriously the best vets I have ever been to

  • Review 39 (2023-07-31 - Rating: 5)

I love my cat, the workers were informative and helpful. And its cheaper than the paper! Give these animals a loving home if you can.

  • Review 40 (2023-09-08 - Rating: 5)

The people are very helpful. The cages are clean and the animals are well cared for. The program such as dog entourage day is a really good thing as it lets you take a dog out for the day. It not only helps with getting the dog out of the facility but also socializes them and lets you see if the dog is a good fit for you. It lets people who cant own a dog get a chance to spend time with one. The gift shop has a lot of nice items to purchase. The cat section is nice too. The events and educational programs are very important that provide learning and fun activities for the family . Glad that there is a safe haven for all the animals to go to.

This place saved my heart and my animals. I went to the Lipsy Clinic and they took care of all nine cats. They were great people who took care of us. They were very sensitive to us and loving and I just cant praise the place enough. I would love to say I think that the payment plan is a wonderful thing and I wish more places would do it because it would save people a lot of grief and heartache. I love you guys in the clinic and I love the place. God bless you all, for all that you do.

I spoke to a vet tech for a half hour today and she was amazing! My cats have fleas, and I have been treating them incorrectly. After speaking with this tech, I feel confident in the treatment plan we created. She spent so much time with me on the phone, and was so understanding and helpful. I am so glad I take my cats to Lipsey.

  • Review 48 (2024-03-18 - Rating: 5)

This is a very late review but cant go unsaid, this place is a life saver. Last year, we had a stray we bonded very well with. Our neighbor called her Skully (because the marking on her back looked like a skull) and it just stuck. We would give her flea medicine, dewormer, food and water everyday. We always hung out with her on our porch and she became the reason so many more street kittys became friendly with us too! When she came along she was super skinny but we got her back to health with lots of love quickly. One day, she didnt show up, which was no like her at all. She always visited, everyday. We were very worried. Three days later we assumed someone hit her and left her for dead. We would call her name from our porch many times hoping shed come but she never did. Later that day, my boyfriend was going through the little garden in front of our house and he found her! But it wasnt looking good... She couldnt move and it appeared she couldnt walk. We got her food and water and put it next to her as we let her eat and rest. Then we decided to see what was wrong... She was clearly in a lot of pain. We quickly realized something was extremely wrong with her back legs. It seemed like she couldnt feel them or moved them at all. We decided to get her into an extra large tote and bring her in for the night (we already had a very grumpy cat) and put her in the bathroom. We got up the next morning and started making calls. We didnt have money to get her into a vet. We called three places before someone directed us to this place. We explained she was hit by a car (she had tire marks on her back end) and we needed help and no other rescues were willing to help. They immediately told us to bring her in and she would be processed and given care. They told us we could re adopt her for $40 once she was ready to go home. We did. She had a broken pelvis in multiple places. We adopted her as soon as they called us. We were so happy they helped us, no questions asked no hesitation. She became the best mama to the kitten I adopted too. She is the sweetest and probably wouldnt be around without this place and all the wonderful people who work there. We are forever thankful and highly recommend this spot if youre ever stuck in an unfortunate situation with a furry friend! She made a full recovery. She walks funny still, with her back legs pointed in but it funny and shes happy as ever. Love our little Skully.

Even though I have not been there they are absolutely amazing. My dog got sick and Lindsey has been intouch with me for two days now trying to get me help. I can not afford the vet bill upfront but she got me in contact with someone that will work with us. I was loosing Faith. I was feeling no one cared about the animals anymore it was just all about the money, until I reached out to Lindsey. Im glad I finally found some that cares more about the animals than the money. I can never thank you enough

Adopted 2 cats Ferrera and Roche (now Lucille Ball and Cleopatra) a few days ago. These poor girls were thrown from a car and their story melted my heart. Spca made the process easy and the cats were well cared for and healthy. Adopted from the Pets smart in Williamsville, employees were very helpful and patient.

We adopted two of these guys from the Erie County SPCA. Noodles (torti) and George (black) both came from a hoarding situation with 50 some odd other cats last summer. They were both skin and bones, and missing a ton of hair. The SPCA thanked us so many times, and made us really feel like we did an amazing thing adopting these two. They made sure that any and all of our questions were answered, everyone was super nice, extremely personable, and they all care about the creatures there. If youre looking for your new fur baby, I highly recommend you go here. Adopt, dont shop ❤️

A couple months ago I brought home my first parakeet, Imogen. Since then I’ve realized my love of birds and about a month afterwards I brought home three more. They all came scared and skinny, since the SPCA had just rescued them from an abusive home. Now they are the loudest and loveliest birds, who love to sing and land on my head and shoulders when they’re out of the cage! They are genuinely the best things that have happened to me and I’m so glad I’ve been able to give them a good forever home. They are lovely and happy birds and I’m so happy I got the chance to rescue them. Just a thank you to the amazing people at the SPCA for helping me find my birds. They all love each other so much and when they aren’t playing and singing they’re napping and preening each other, or gossiping and talking to each other. Thank you for helping me find them. I can’t wait to rescue more in the future.UPDATE: If you’re seeing this, Gina, I sent you the photos through email! Feel free to contact me through email or the number I provided for more pictures

I brought my dog to another emergency vet Buffalo veterinary clinic they where awesome but wanted 3200$ for a emergency surgery I could not afford that Dr Kristina Doyle went in the back and contacted Lipsey clinic for me and asked them to please help me. I brought my mastiff here immediately because she had pyometra and I thought she was going to die it was 5 days before Christmas... So I brought her here to Lispey clinic they where absolutely amazing they where caring loving over the phone and in person so I dropped Coco off and they litterally saved my dogs life. I believed the surgeons name was Allison Kean. They took my dog immediately no questions asked and cared for my dog. When I went to pick her up there was a lady that looked so busy and like she has been working non stop she asked me if I had been helped yet which I was turned out she was the Dr that saved my dogs life.... They spayed coco and saved her life the staff was absolutely beautiful they gave me a awesome payment plan. Everyone at this place was absolutely amazing and everyone there was angels. This was the best Christmas present I could have ever asked for they gave me medicine for my dog and coco now is absolutely doing so good she is happy eating using the bathroom she is back to normal so I want to thank everyone at Lipsey clinic for being absolutely wonderful I can afford the payment plan and I can not thank everyone here enough front desk Michelle and the surgeon thankyou so much love coco and chloe💙💗💚💜💙💗💚💜💙💗💚💜💙💚💗💜💙💗💚💜💙💗✌🏼☮️

Not a happy day here, but I am so grateful for their kindness. My kitty of 18 years crossed the rainbow Bridge with their help. The only complaint is that we were not allowed to go in with him during euthanasia. I dont know why but he was with caring folks when he left this world. They gave him back in a lovely little canvas burial shroud. He will forever be with us. RIP KIP 2007-2023

5 stars because much respect for all they do. The complex is very nice, clean and modern and of course they care about the animals and the prospective homes they will go to. My aunt has been waiting to adopt a kitten for months after her previous cat passed and we wanted to wait and make sure everything was ready. Created a cat room for the new addition to enjoy! The kittens on the premises were in need of a multi cat household so they directed us to go to Pet Smart where they were doing adoptions of suitable kittens. We arent impulsive when it comes to adopting and after the already long wait, we found a gorgeous grey tiger kitten and she knew immediately that she was the right one. Gentle, calm but with the expected curiosity of a kitten. My aunt is very happy and this kitten now has a great home and a great life ahead of her. Thanks for saving the lives of countless creatures and finding them homes! Please spay and neuter to reduce unwanted pets! We only adopt and if you are thinking about it, go for it.

Editing my review 9/17/22My family is super grateful to the staff at the SPCA for making our adoption process educational and smooth this past week. We came in with our son and he loved one of the kittens who was already adopted. They educated us about the best age and personality for our child and walked us through the process. We were given extensive health information and everyone was so happy for our kitten going to his new home. Would definitely recommend to others looking to adopt.I am a personal aide to individuals with disabilities and I regularly bring them here to walk around and see the animals. The volunteers are always very kind and friendly. The facility is super clean and there is a wide variety of animals. If and when I am ready to adopt another pet, I’d definitely look here!

  • Review 71 (2023-03-25 - Rating: 5)

I started looking at puppies and dogs on their website. When we decided we wanted to add another dog or puppy to our household. I reached out to the SPCA because several of the rescues that I reached out to I got zero response from. And I’m not trying to sound arrogant but I have an excellent application so there’s no reason why I would be intentionally overlooked. However, at the SPCA everyone was extremely nice and very helpful. They helped us figure out which of the dogs they had would fit best in our household because we already have some pets. We met and fell in love with the little stinker. She’s sweet and adorable and is settling in beautifully!

Wow. I am very grateful for this organization after being quoted $1500 for a basic neuter on my 6 year old pit. Lipsey got me an appointment within 2 months of me calling. Paid a total of $380 for a neuter, heart worm test, and microchipping. The appointment was seamless and they were very caring and attentive to me and my dog. I will be going there for his annual appointments now as well. Thank you so much Lipsey Clinic!

What an amazing resource our local SPCA is! These folks are incredibly dedicated to animal welfare, to wildlife health, to responsible pet ownership, and to being a lifeline for animal emergencies when virtually no other local municipalities will take responsibility. If anyone needs a deserving nonprofit to donate towards, you couldnt find a more deserving one than the Erie County SPCA. I am grateful for the help they have provided our community and hope they receive all the support they need to meet their mission.

Even though with my health issues I wouldnt be able to handle another dog I still go to the Erie County SPCA on Harlem road in West Seneca and go in their gift shop to buy shirts and stuff to support the SPCA because they do such a great job. Thank you SPCA for the wonderful job all of you do. And the place is very clean, and the workers and volunteers are so helpful and so nice. Keep up the great work. Thank you for being there for all of the animals

  • Review 90 (2020-03-09 - Rating: 5)

I will always have a warm and fuzzy place in my heart for the SPCA. Having lost my beloved dog to illness, it took several visits to this beautiful facility before I was ready for a new companion. The staff was always welcoming and empathetic to my needs and more importantly, my timeline. I finally found my perfect match in an old gal about 8 years old. She had some health issues which were addressed promptly and humanely so I had to wait a couple weeks before she became mine. Adopting an older dog was the best decision for myself and family. She is thriving and we love our Phoebe to pieces!

  • Review 94 (2018-07-06 - Rating: 5)

My son was in search of the perfect pet. When we arrived, the staff was extremely helpful. They asked questions about our household, what type of dog we were interested in, and then provided us with choices that were a great match for us. We spent some time getting to know the animals. Dennis took us out to the play area so that we could get to know the dogs and watch their demeanor. Cindy listened to what we were looking for and paired us up with Rosemarie quickly. They answered our many questions without hesitation both while we were at the shelter and after adoption. We honestly could not be happier! She was absolutely right! Rosemarie is a perfect fit for us and we are so happy to offer her the life of a princess in her new forever home. Thank you to the staff for caring so much and taking the time to make a perfect match for us and for our beautiful girl!

EDIT: Ive revised my initial review from 1 to 5 stars to account for the very considerate follow-up I received from the SPCA team in response to my previous complaint.ORIGINAL POST: Some staff members Ive spoken to have been very kind and helpful; the woman on dispatch I was connected to the morning of 4/24, however, was astoundingly rude. If I ever find myself again in the stressful position where I need to reach out with an animal welfare question, I will be sure to contact any organization I can think of but the SPCA. As a concerned community member, its really discouraging to have had such a terrible interaction with an organization that asserts itself as mission-driven.

I adopted ‘bichette’ now ernie, about a couple of months ago. He’s the best kitty, he was the missing puzzle piece in my little family. He gets along well with my other cat daisy, even though she is the queen and lets it be known! All he ever wants is cuddles and pets, every night he sleeps with me and has to be on me which I love and enjoy! He enjoys blankets, lots of blankets! I love him so very much. Thank you guys for helping me find my Ernie, it was an easy process and a wonderful experience.💕💕

This place is awesome! I thought they only had cats and dogs but they had a horse, a pony, a goat (I think two) rats, ferrets, cats dogs. I got two rats theyre so cute- 15 each. So cute little things. My mother was looking for a small dog because shes going through empty nest syndrome and they had a lot of options but all the small dogs were taken or on hold. I would suggest stalking their website just to make sure you dont rush into things and wait for the perfect furry buddy! Thank you again for my ratties!

The SPCA is the shelter to go to if you want honesty, affordability, and great service. The volunteers are always friendly at the main shelter and are ready to help with anything you need, including always having up to date printouts on hand of their cats at offsite locations. The facility is also super clean and well maintained. We adopted Rorschach the kitten from them and he is extremely friendly!! We are so happy the SPCA let us adopt when other shelters in the area discriminated against us for being a young couple. Thank you SPCA for letting us save a kitten!

  • Review 107 (2021-11-20 - Rating: 5)

This place is amazing. My husband and I experience was pleasurable. I know, going to an animal rescue should have been depressing. This is not the case. You can feel the passion the people who work there have towards the animals. My puppy as they called her, Howl, now she is my Bella-Ashley and her siblings where playing to their hearts content. We left with Bella-Ashley with food and some great advise from the behaviorist. Also, we were told if we need any puppy assistance regarding any puppy issues that might arise they have classes that will help us in getting our little Bella-Ashley some behavior training. BUT, good to know, we dont need any assistance. BUT, its great to know they are still there for us after the adoption. Bella-Ashley is a smart little girl and knows the meaning of no. Then absorbs our behind the ear rubs as a award for her good behavior. Bella-Ashley thank the people at the SPCA for saving her life. And my husband and I thank the SPCA for the opportunity to adopt such a beautiful girl. With much appreciation we thank you all. Sincerely, the Perry Family.

Lots of very loving and cute animals. Staff is very helpful and cares a lot about the animals. Prices are fair. There are a LOT of cats, old and young, lots of dogs you can very easily pet if they want to be pet and are able to get away if they want. There is also a room with reptiles and rodents as well as a barn near the main building with pigs and goats. Very nice place to get a new pet from.

It’s almost two weeks with my newly adopted pup and I want to share my great experience with the overall adoption process and pet shop. Jessica the manager of the shop has always been readily available to answer all my questions and gives great recommendations. As a new dog owner I felt a lot more confident taking Hoover home. Patty has also been a great resource! Hoover is still a puppy and has some minor accidents in the house and she recommended products as well as training advice which was extremely helpful. I like coming to the spca to purchase my dogs supplies because not only do the proceeds benefit the organization I also learn a lot about caring for my animal. It can be overwhelming going to PetSmart or any other franchise to purchase pet supplies because you get a plethora of choices. I like that the shop is concise and has toys that are very durable and treats that my puppy loves! Thanks so much for the great customer service!!!!

And most of the small critters are rescues too, either found abandoned or turned in by owner.

I made two appointments to go in and see if I could give a good boy or girl dog their forever home. The first time I was unsuccessful in finding a match, but the staff was very warm and encouraging to try again soon. Within 5 days I was back to try again, and this time found my good boy. Both times I went in, the staff was cheerful and friendly, and the place was immaculately clean and welcoming.Once I found my friend, all of the staff that saw us were congratulating us, and giving out treats and lovin to my boy. This was the first time I adopted a pet on my own and the SPCA made it really easy, even during these trying times. If youre still on the fence about going in, the place was very clean, and there was plenty of room to social distance. Book an appointment to see a dog, or go ahead and show up to see any of their other awesome pets ie. Ferrets, Rabbits, Chickens, Cats and bring home a friend today.(Covid rules may/will change after writing)

The new SPCA is sadly further away from my house. We finally drove out there to check it out. The building looks huge, but somehow it seemed like there was much less animal space. The barn was smaller, less stalls. There were only two rows of dog kennels open. Im not sure if they had more closed off, but what was visible definitely seemed smaller. I love the cat rooms, but again, it seems to hold less cats. I wish they had opened this in addition to their old location rather than as their only location.

I love going to the SPCA because The animals are so cute and I was thinking to get an experience to intern there
