In July we went for our vacation to Canada and America, while visiting NYC with our dog we were looking for daycare. City Tails NYC responded quick on our request by email.Our labradoodle Mick was very welcome so we had our hands free to explore the city that never sleeps. Mick had two great days and the staff took very good care of him, we are thankful.We absolutely recommend City Tails NYC 👍🏻👍🏻🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺

We send both our dogs to City Tails regularly. The staff is amazing - Joel and his team send regular updates to us and really care about our dogs (well often run into Joel and his staff on the street and both of our dogs will get incredibly excited when they see someone from City Tails). They are also excellent with overnight visits. We couldnt recommend City Tails enough.

Our dog, Tofu, has been a client of City Tails for years for his weekly daycare visit and sleepovers when we are out of town for weekend to multi-week trips. We know Tofu loves his visits because he gets some pep in his step on our walks over and pulls us to City Tails when we get close. Sometimes he doesnt let us take him home! Joel and his team are very attentive and we trust the team to take care of Tofu! We love the photo updates as well, especially the holiday photoshoots! Thank you City Tails!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Joel and his entire staff. Not only are they always willing and able to work with my unpredictable schedule, they also always put me at ease when I leave my dog here knowing she is in the absolute best care as if my dog was their own. I have been taking my dog to City Tails for day care and overnight boarding for several years now and the only thing I have to worry about is if my dog wants to come back home with me! I have a Border Collie / Aussie mix (read a HIGH energy handful) and the staff is constantly engaged, providing many daily updates, photos, and videos during her stays. The dogs are taken out often and get ample socialization with, not only the other dogs, but with the staff too. This is not always the case at other at other facilities in the city, or out of the city for that matter. I just recently had to board my dog for an almost 2 month stay and I would never think twice about boarding my dog anywhere else after such a positive and stress free experience. Joel and his staff truly love what they do and it shows in how they care for all the dogs that are under their care. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

After being called back to in-person work much earlier than expected during the pandemic last winter, we were so incredibly lucky to find Joel & the City Tails NYC crew. Zephyr attended 3-5 days/week throughout the winter & spring, and boarded for three nights in June. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff and environment at City Tails NYC. In a city where family-owned and neighborhood businesses seem to be disappearing, City Tails makes owners and dogs feel like they are a part of the family. I received several photos and videos each day of Zephyr at day care, as well as updates on his mood/behavior. He could not WAIT to go each day which, given that he has some pandemic-puppy attachment issues, is truly saying something. If youre looking for a safe place for your pup where he or she will be cared for and comfortable, look no further than this amazing business.

It actually pains me to write this review as when you find a hidden gem in this city, you want to keep the secret to yourself and only tell friends and colleagues looking for the best of the best and trust your recommendations... but that would be a disservice to Joel and his team that run City Tails as they are not only the most reasonably priced daycare/boarding center in the village, they truly make your dog feel like family! She is always excited to go see her friends and I feel no guilt having her board for a week as I know she is having the time of her life - and all the pictures I get daily prove it! I also have a hectic and spontaneous work schedule that involves last minute trips and changes, and the staff is always accommodating and understanding to my needs - no words of appreciation can be said to explain how grateful I am for that. If you live downtown and need quality dog care and services, City Tails is your one stop shop!

In this day and age, with so many places to choose from, finding the right fit in terms of location, cleanliness, professionalism, and of course, friendly, conscientious, and well trained staff, are MUSTS on my list of criteria.Look no further than City Tails; a family owned and operated, small business, that truly cares about their clients and their dogs. Their facility is sparkling clean, which as a trainer to a lot of new puppies, is crucial to ensuring these young pups stay healthy, while being able to socialize safely. I hold all of my classes there because I know Joel, Michelle, and the entire staff are truly invested in providing the best environment for dogs of all ages!Enjoying your life with your dog should be a community effort. City Tails is a very professional and reliable resource. Ive known Joel, the owner, for years and can always count on him and his team to take care of my dog, including when I have to leave town for weeks on end. Its wonderful not having to worry about whether my dog is being properly cared for, and to know that hes matched during the day with other dogs he enjoys playing with. Highly recommended for daycare and boarding.

We (and our dog) love City Tails and we honestly couldnt have a dog in Manhattan without them. They have great hours that accommodate working professionals and the staff are always so kind and attentive to our dogs needs. We especially appreciate the text updates with pictures throughout the day, and have never had any issues with overnight / weekend stays. Definitely would recommend if you have a dog in the west / greenwich village.

Joel and his team at City Tails have been such a saving grace for us and our pup! Their reliability and responsiveness have been essential for our busy family, and our dog is always so excited to see his human and canine pals at doggy daycare. Joel is incredibly responsive and is always willing to accommodate last-minute requests for dog-sitting overnight or extra days at daycare. The team does a great job of sending us photos of our dog at while were at work or when were away, and its clear hes always having a great time! As an added bonus, our dog absolutely loves Joel and his family, and its lovely to see how comfortable he is around them, almost as if theyre his second family. We cannot recommend City Tails more highly! Do yourself a favor and check them out!

City Tails is an excellent family-run business with very kind and loving staff. Our girl Bluey is a classic pandemic dog who doesnt visit daycare frequently due to remote work, but Joel is so accommodating of taking her in on the days when we know she needs extra cuddles and rumbles with the very cool regulars. Shes done overnights as well as full and half days and always comes home happy and ready to sleep forever, which we appreciate.

My dog (Shrimp) and I love working with the CityTails staff. Every employee at CT is incredibly friendly and professional, and Shrimp is always happy to go there, and exhausted from a day of fun and activity when he leaves. Joel and his family treat the business and peoples dogs like their own dog/family. The price is very reasonable and the schedules flexible. If there is a last minute emergency, CT can almost always accommodate. Highly recommend.

CityTails is the BEST! My 8 1/2 French bulldog Wilma, LOVES the CityTails family. Joel and his staff are so accommodating and they really customize their care for each individual dog. Wilma is a social butterfly but, also needs to have space for breaks. CityTails offers her a built-out space dedicated to where she can chill out and catch her breath. They are so reliable and dependable. They administer Wilmas CBD for her hip dysplasia & arthritis. CityTails is so accommodating to her senior needs. The dogs that CityTails attract are so well behaved, fun, playful and obedient. The staff has the best playlists which they play over load speakers throughout the day. The environment is pure fun. When I drop Wilma off for the day I know she is going to have the best day in a safe and trusting environment. I get photos throughout the day along with personalized Wilma updates. I couldnt recommend CityTails enough!

Our little Cavapoo has been going to City Tails for over two years for day visits and overnight stays. We find the owners and their staff to be very personable, responsive and attentive in their communications with us and their care of our little guy. We trust that he is safe at CT and that he is receiving good care. CT has earned our trust in this regard. Beyond that, our guy gets excited to go there and we interpret that as a good sign of his experience at City Tails.

There arent enough good things I can say about Joel and his team at City Tails. But if its #TLDR: we walk over a mile each way and its worth every step. Weve tried a number of daycares in the city and havent been able to find one that both us and our pup, Peabody, like as much as City Tails. Joel is incredibly responsive and will send us photos, which no other place would. The team adores our puppy and we love supporting a small, family run business. The others we went to were more corporate and you could immediately tell the difference. They even threw her a birthday party!

My dog, Artemis, loves Citytails -- its her home away from home where she gets to play with her friends. Weve used Citytails for both daycare and overnight stays. When we walk by, shell pull towards the door because she wants to go there.The owner, Joel, and his staff are all excellent and really care about the dogs -- we run into them on our walks and Artemis is always happy to see them, and theyre happy to see Artemis. Joel is very responsive via text and always sends photos of Artemis at play.

I don’t know what I would do without City Tails. My dog, Mouse, loves going there so much that it’s borderline offensive. Every person there clearly loves dogs and takes amazing care of everyone’s beloved pets — I never have to feel an ounce of guilt or concern when leaving Mouse for the day or for an extended stay. Im so glad I found City Tails! Joel and the team are incredibly caring and responsive, and provide the perfect environment for my dog Kota whenever I need an extra pair of hands. City Tales has, literally, changed our familys life. First of all, they are wonderful with our dog--kind, loving, caring, responsible, and attentive. We trust them with our furry son and we trust them with bringing him back and forth to our house when we are not here. If there is ever a miscommunication they are very patient and problem solve with us to work it out. Honestly--they feel like an extension of our family. Also, Joel has given us terrific advice for our dog that has really been so helpful. I cant say enough wonderful things about the employees and the establishment.

I’ve been taking my dog to city tails for about a year and a half now. Joel and the entire staff are friendly and reliable, and they do a great job with every dog they have there. They are super flexible and accommodating, especially with boarding requests and drop in daycare days. City Tails was so great to our dog Loki, he had a blast the couple days we were there. We were visiting NYC for vacation and we have an 80lbs Bernedoodle. The space was big enough for him and all the friends he made. The staff was excellent, giving us updates with pictures on a regular basis and Joel was a big help with paperwork, scheduling and answering all the questions we have. Will definitely come back if we visit NYC again!

The team at City Tails is amazing. We have a little doxie who is very shy and anxious and needs lots of love and I was always worried we would never find a place that we could trust. That was until we met Joel and his team. They treat Schnitzel so well and they are always ready to help us even if we need last minute daycare. I would recommend them to anyone who has a pup in their life. They treat you like family and that’s what our pets are!

City Tails is an excellent doggie day care service. My wife and I travel a lot and we often need to leave our pup for overnight stays. Joel and his family take care of Dante like hes their own. Its obvious he enjoys his time spent there with the other dogs and with Joels family. They do a great job of sending pics and videos throughout the stay so you can check in on your pet. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. They are super flexible with last minute accommodations. The service is priced appropriately. We have had nothing but positive experiences with City Tails and feel very comfortable leaving our boy there. I cant recommend them enough.

Joel and his staff are truly top notch! I have used several daycares in the city, and ultimately settled on bringing my Boston Terrier Winnie to City Tails. The environment is fun, welcoming, the staff is kind and very attentive to the dogs. There is an easy portal to book daycare or walks. Joel texts the cutest pictures and videos throughout the day which is always a nice surprise! I also use City Tails for boarding. Winnie comes home happy and exhausted. I couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommend!!

We LOVE City Tails! My pup is super playful but for some reason was not adjusting to his other daycare - we just assumed he wasnt a daycare dog after MANY attempts. However, after asking people in the neighborhood and at the dog park, everyone had the best things to say about city tails so I decided to try it out. From the beginning, Joel was super responsive and accommodating. Its clear the CT staff truly cares about you/your dog - they dont just make you feel like another transaction/dollar amount. They listened to my concerns regarding his hesitations with daycare and made sure he was completely comfortable. They also made sure I was completely comfortable by sending me photos/videos throughout the day and letting me know how he was doing etc. It did take 2-3 sessions to get fully comfortable, but now he drags me there! I know all the humans give him a lot of attention and love and look out for him completely. I am completely at ease when my pup is at City Tails!

City Tails is terrific! I have been using them for 4 years and have had a phenomenal experience. My dog gets so excited when she gets picked up for daycare and it’s obvious she loves it. They are always on time, give her the full time allotted, and are very flexible in providing help when needed (eg walks to groomer, even bringing her to midtown for a cameo at my wedding!). Anyone who loves their dog will love using City Tails

We highly recommend City Tails! Numerous people at the dog park recommended City Tails to us, and it has exceeded our expectations.The personal attention that they give each dog and the family-like atmosphere really sets City Tails apart. Joel and his staff are really friendly and welcoming, and are genuine dog lovers. We regard our dog as a member of our family, and we know that Deuce gets the same treatment at City Tails.We also love that Deuce literally joins Joel’s family when we have her board with City Tails. Although we miss our dog dearly when we travel, we no longer worry about boarding her because we know that she’s in great hands.Deuce loves City Tails too! She starts pulling on her leash as soon as we turn on Leroy Street and can’t wait to get inside!We really can’t imagine owning a dog in the city without City Tails!

As a new pup owner, I was very nervous and particular about who Louie Marcel would spend his time away from me. City Tails for the WIN!Joel and his entire team are the most incredible, caring, knowledgeable, accommodating, loving people I think I have ever met in NYC and beyond. City Tails has become Louies family, where he is loved and protected and where he has made so many pup friends - and of course, a few pretty girlfriends. Every day we go to City Tails, Louie begins a sprint from 2 blocks away. On a rare day that we dont go, Louie sits at my door waiting for me to take him to City Tails (and of course, then I call Joel and add him for an afternoon visit)Joel sends amazing videos and pics all day - which is just incredible and comforting. Any time Louie has special needs (hes a frenchie, so all the time) Joel and his team are so beyond accommodating.It is the best place on earth for me and my sanity, and Disney World for Louie. Fabulous family run doggy day care and boarding! There are not many people I would trust to watch my dog, Ruby, but Joel and team are my first choice (even over my friends and family!). Ruby has been going to daycare here for over 6 months and absolutely loves it. She also boards (and I feel strange calling it boarding) with Joel and his family — in their home — when I need to go out of town.Ruby knows the moment we turn onto 7th Ave that’s she’s going to City Tails and her tail starts wagging and she literally takes off, pulling me to Leroy street. From Ruby’s excitement and my own interactions, it’s clear that everyone that works at City Tails is incredibly friendly and truly cares about the dogs. Joel is also really flexible — need to change your drop off / pick up time last minute? Need to head out of town last minute? Change of plans and don’t need doggy day care that day? It’s NEVER an issue!!!Oh, and Ruby always comes home exhausted!I honestly don’t know what I would do without City Tails as part of Ruby’s village!

Our vizsla Tony loves going to City Tails for daycare. The owners and staff are amazing! They take such good care of all the dogs. The space is clean and bright, and they send pictures and videos throughout the day. They even host special doggie events for holidays like a Valentines Day kissing booth and Halloween costume party. And the best part, at the end of a day of daycare, Tony comes home happy and pooped out.

I have had such a wonderful experience with City Tails I felt I had to share with others. Our anxious and energetic border collie pup Tad is a lot to handle...to put it mildly :) Joel and his amazing staff welcome him with open arms every day. I previously tried another daycare that was ok, but I always had a pit in my stomach when I left, not completely at ease. I never have ANY worries about how he is being treated at City Tails. The facility is clean and the employees have such great energy. Tad drags me inside and loves the other dogs there. After a day of playing, he zonks out happy and exhausted. Joel is always responsive and easygoing with any schedule changes, and his fun photo updates brighten my day! I truly cant recommend them enough.

They are flexible and caring and have a great relationship with our dog Freddy and there is consistency for him. This gives us great peace of mind. City Tails is AMAZING! Everyone in NYC should send their pups there. Joel, his staff and his family are the most loving, caring, responsible dog service! We have a 10 month mini Aussie named Hudson and he loves them! After a day of day care he’s so tired and happy and he loves when he gets to stay overnight with the family when we’re out of town. Joel and his wife send us pictures and videos everyday when Hudson is there and they clearly love all the doggies so much. Their 6 year old daughter even wrote a book about how much she loves Hudson! We’d be lost without them.

Joel and his crew have been an absolute lifesaver for me since I moved to the neighborhood. My dog can be a little socially awkward but Joel just gets it - he’s always happy to have him around and I can relax knowing he’s in the best hands.City Tails is a small, family run business that knows every client and their dog, which is so hard to come by in NYC. This is the first daycare that my dog actually pulls me to the door in the morning. Clearly they’re doing it right - no doubt we will be lifelong clients :)

Our dog literally sprints when he realizes we are in the vicinity of city tails because he loves it so much. A family-owned business with the kindest, most patient employees. I cannot speak highly enough about City Tails. I moved to New York a little over a year ago with my incredibly sweet, but nervous puppy, Linus. He grew up during peak COVID lockdown and was not able to socialize at a young age. Despite his nerves and uncertainty around other dogs and people, he quickly became so comfortable and excited to go to City Tails every week.This is a clear testament to Joel and his team, who are all so thoughtful and kind, and they clearly care so much about the dogs that they bring into their City Tails home. I always felt so confident leaving Linus with them, and unlike many daycares, the staff continues to take and send pictures of pups beyond their first day – they are also always willing to answer questions about how the pups are doing.City Tails really encapsulates all the positives of a small, family-run business. I am so grateful for everything they’ve done to go above and beyond for Linus and me, and no one should hesitate to send their dog to Joel and his team!

IF I could give city tails 10 stars I would! This is the greatest daycare for dogs!! I have a 7 month old golden doodle who spends Monday to Friday at the daycare while I work. City tails has become his home away from home, and his second family! He runs into daycare every morning so excited to see the staff and his puppy friends. They are so accommodating with my busy schedule and send photos and videos of my dog through out the day. He comes home happy and appropriately tired. The staff really cares about my dog, and I greatly appreciate this business! They also pick my dog up from my apartment frequently, which is great The facility is beautiful, spacious, and clean! My only complaint is that I didn’t find them sooner! Send your dog to city tails and you will not be disappointed!

I used to be so nervous leaving my puppy with anyone, especially overnight. Most places in the city are dirty, big companies, and didn’t seem to actually care about my dog. City Tails has exceeded my expectations in every way and I will never leave my puppy with anyone else!! They have a wonderful space, always send me videos throughout the day, and truly treat my dog as if he is one of the family. I use them often for daycare and overnights and I couldn’t reccomend them more!!

City Tails is THE BEST dog service in all of New York. We have an anxious puppy who started getting walks and attending day care right at the start of the coronavirus shutdown. It’s not only helped us train and socialize her, but it’s also introduced us to our neighbors (who are now our very close friends) and Joel and his family (including superhero wife Michelle). Whenever we need anything dog-related we go to them. The Dogwalkers are amazing with the pups and even Joel and his family will take the dog on weekends if we’re away. Their place is Rue’s second home/second family. I could go on, but I think my point is clear: City tails is our lifesaver and safe place! Thank you a million times over to Joel and Michelle!

This was the first daycare we ever brought our dog, who is a shy guy! He does not love dog parks and is typically shy with other dogs and people. However he LOVES City Tails, thanks to the whole team there who make him feel comfortable! I have been taking my puppy, Baxter, to City Tails each week. It makes his day when he knows where we are going! He pulls me down the sidewalk and is always so excited to see the City Tails Staff. 5 star rating doesn’t begin to do CityTails justice! We got a Great Dane puppy, Toro, this year and would be lost without Joel and the CityTails family!Before picking where we wanted to send Toro, we asked around and time and time again CityTails was the answer we got. All of the CityTails team makes their dogs (and more importantly, their owners) feel like they are the most important dog in the world!They take great care of all the dogs (playing / walks / feeding / etc) and send you pictures and videos throughout the day. They also have a hilarious Instagram account where you can see through stories and posts what’s going on that day. You can really tell that everyone really loves dogs and is able to cater to every individuals needs with no questions asked.We also have left Toro for overnight visits, where Joel (founder of CityTails) takes the dogs home at night to his family. I would not trust anyone else with my dog and I am pretty sure Toro prefers sleeping there than he does at home!What CityTails has is truly special and we would be lost without them this year. 10000/10 times would recommend!

We love CityTails. The CityTails team is so warm and friendly that we feel comfortable entrusting our adorable doggo with them. Weve tried many doggy day cares in NYC and not only was the vibe worse, but the people didnt seem to care about the dogs in the same way as Joel and his team do. CityTails is super responsive and they send us pictures whenever we ask or whenever they want to show us something cute. We love CityTails so much that we walk over a mile to get there, passing many other daycares on the way.

Five stars doesnt do justice for the experience I had with City Tails. I first heard about City Tails via fellow dog parents ranting and raving about how amazing this new day care was. It was described as much more than a daycare- where your dogs individualized needs were truly met.Due to my lack of travel this year, I just finally had the chance to experience the full service when I boarded Sadie with Joel for over a week. Using the word boarded seems unfit… It is more like a vacation for them. Sadie was taken home with Joel every night and truly treated as part of the family. She played with kids, slept in beds, and even was taken on a family outing... All documented and sent beautifully. Receiving the content and frequent updates brought so much joy. Finding a place like this is a rarity (I have tried dozens of places and dog walkers) and after experiencing this I would never leave my dog in anyone else’s hands. 10/10 would recommend.

My Pup Rocky LOVES City Tails! We started going half days as soon as she was old enough. At first I was nervous she was so little , would she be happy and well cared for during the day? Well I got my answer on Day 2 when we arrived she pulled me down the stairs to get inside! And as soon as the door opened she ran tail wagging to the teacher and her friends! Joel and the staff send me pics and videos during the day-she always looks happy running around and playing with her friends. The team is very accommodating on any last minute changes you may have, and the walkers are so friendly. I love that this is a small, owner and family, hands on business. They truly care about the dogs, from the children who play and walk them to the staff who care to their needs. They have the dogs playing together according to size and energy and if anyone gets too fussy they have a space for them to rest. I really love that my dog is here rather than a large kennel with lots of bells and whistles that add to the price and not necessarily to the comfort and care of the dog. I wouldn’t want my Rosebud any other place.

We have had the absolute best experience with City Tails. The family feel was there from the moment I requested more information online and got a phone call from Joel the owner. The Bass family has poured so much love into City Tails that it feels like much more than a daycare. Last week Michelle saw Louie walking on the street and stopped us to say hi- it just means so much to know they care.My dog Louie (check him out below smiling at daycare) absolutely loves going and has the best time. Joel sends us pictures and videos of him playing and it always makes my day. It’s clear that all of the staff treat him like he is their own dog. I use the service where they bring Louie home for me sometimes, which has been a life saver on numerous occasions.The communication with Joel is so easy and he is incredibly responsive. The facility is always sparkling clean. We did Louies puppy classes with Kate Perry Dog Training at City Tails and it was really great that they have that partnership and Louie got early positive associations with the space. This place is just the best!We love City Tails and would highly recommend it to all!

I have been using City Tails for over two years and I feel so lucky to have found this neighborhood gem. The people who run it, and the people who work there, love our dog and treat her as if she is their own. It is obvious how much our dog likes going to City Tails because she always gets so excited when the door opens. Occasionally, we will see one of the City Tails employees in our neighborhood and my dog will go right over to them for a belly rub!Our mini Australian Shepherd goes to daycare pretty much every week and City Tails is very accommodating and easygoing with our unpredictable schedule. Scheduling is super easy and they have been able to take my dog even when I text them the night before.City Tails has also been a great place for our dog to stay overnight if we go out of town for a few days. They do a great job with her meals, relief walks, and medication, but mostly I know they are giving her the love and attention she would be getting at home. They even send pictures from daycare and overnights so we can see what shes up to. Our family has a shared photo album just for these pictures because we love them so much!I have also used City Tails for walks, including bringing my dog home from daycare. This is especially helpful if Im going to be out past regular daycare pickup time.City Tails has also helped me when I have had family emergencies and could not take the dog out for her walk. Recently, I had to take my child to the doctor for a medical emergency and I texted City Tails as I headed out the door and asked if they could help. On very short notice, they were able to come and get her from my apartment and take her to daycare for the day so I could focus on my child. It gives me great peace of mind to know that I have a partner in City Tails in case something out of the ordinary comes up.Everyone Ive met at City Tails is friendly and reliable and they have an obvious love for dogs. I feel so fortunate to have them as a partner to help with my beloved furry friend. And, most importantly, my dog LOVES them!!

Our dachshund Harry has the best time with all the staff and pups, and loses his mind any time were walking anywhere near Leroy Street. We had such a great experience with City Tails NYC! They took amazing care of our 8 month old puppy, Brodie, who can be a handful! City Tails is a dream! My high energy 2.5 year old pup gets to socialize / play in a safe space while I can go to work carefree knowing she’s in good hands. Plus, you know it’s a good sign when you can’t walk down Leroy Street unless it’s to go to CT because your dog just lays in front of the gate wondering why they can’t go to “school” everyday !

They treat your dog as part of their family. Joel and the team know all the dogs and you can tell how much they care for them by how excited the dogs are to see them, whether dropping them off for the day or just passing by on the street. Your dog is cared for here the same way you would care for him at home. Highly recommend!
