After a hectic move to the US, we were SO happy to find Dogma! Shiro did a beautiful job, our lhasa apso requires a scissor cut for her type of coat and we were nervous after leaving our groomer in Paris! I truly don’t think I could write this review fast enough after picking my pup up from his first groom here. He’s 8 months old and is definitely not a huge fan of bathes or from vet visits, anyone up in his business. I let the staff know these details and some. And got to meet the groomer Alfonso before the appointment too. Could not recommend him more!! All my nerves were gone as soon as I picked my guy up. My dog came out looking AMAZING, exactly how I asked and to my surprise did not want to leave. It was a fight to walk him home because he kept pulling me back to Dogma. We’ll definitely be returning customers. Thank you so much! If you’re considering taking your pup here for their first groom don’t think twice. They go above and beyond :)

My 2 - year old dog Cashew loves Dogma! I always feel safe and comfortable leaving him for a week or weekend vacation here. He gets to attend long walks, agility playgroup and play as much as he wants with other dogs. I highly recommend Dogma for all dogs who need to get their energy out and have a safe environment to stay at while you are away. They even send updates of photos while you are away and you can schedule everything through an app, love it. He always runs towards the door with excitement when we arrive at dogma and leaves happier than ever. Best place ever for your dogs!

My Australian Shepard, Cosmo, LOVES Dogma! He has so many friends and will race me there every time. He just got groomed for the first time and they did amazing! I was so nervous because Aussie’s coats are so natural looking, and they really trimmed him at the perfect length, especially for the summer heat. Thank you Dogma!

We had an 17 year old dog and he is very inactive at home. But every time we pick him up from Dogma, he is so happy and hyper like a brand new dog! I don’t know what was happening but seems like he had tons of fun for sure. All the staffs are very friendly, the place is always clean and there’s tons of space for the four legged friends. I wish my apartment was that spacious. XD.

We absolutely love Dogma! Being from New Zealand and travelling for at least 4 weeks a year, it was so important to find a place that takes great care of our girl. She just finished another 2.5 week stay and seems happy and healthy. We also love that they send daily photos and have the cameras so we can check in on her throughout the day.

I come to Dogma to get my little rescuemutt’s nails trimmed. She tolerates the trimming because Shiro is so awesome and the treats so delicious! Always an upbeat professional vibe there. If I ever needed a doggie daycare I would definitely use this one. They have a glass partition between the waiting room and daycare and I’ve only seen adorable, clean and happy dogs there!

I moved to New York City in July of 2021 and was looking for the perfect daycare for my dog, Leo. After going through a few, I found Dogma. From the moment I walked through the doors the first day to drop him off, I knew this was the place I could trust to take care of my dog while I was away. Jun, the owner, was so warm and friendly when she greeted us and began loving on Leo instantly. Hes gone back countless times and each time we get close to Dogma, his tail starts wagging frantically and he just cant wait to get inside. Jun, Michael, Nikki, and the rest of the staff are professional, responsive, and friendly each and every time. Its clear that everyone working at Dogma cares about each dog that comes through their doors and that they love what they do. I have also used their grooming services and have been very impressed. Leo always leaves his grooming appointment smelling great, well brushed out, soft, and clean. I cant say enough good things about this place. You can bring your dog here and trust that they will be happy, loved, and well taken care of when you cant be with them.

Their friendly and attentive staff go above and beyond to make our dogs feel comfortable. We love everything about Dogma! The space is welcoming and open and staff is great. Shiro, the groomer extraordinaire is the only groomer I’d trust to touch my bebes. He has this calming touch that my dogs are comfortable with and they always come back better than the last groom, if possible. And he is able to brush their teeth! I’ve never been able to do it and will start taking them in between their standing grooming appointments. Thank you Dogma for being so good to my kids.

For the past 2-3 years, my dog has been going to daycare at Dogma a few times a month, and overall it has been a really positive experience. He is always excited to walk in the door, and the staff and owner seem to have gotten to know him pretty well which is nice.He is a smaller dog and I’m super picky with his care, to the point that I don’t use a dog walker and only my family or close friends have ever watched him. After a lot of research, I found Dogma, and have always been able to trust them to take good care of him, which is a big deal for me!I’ve recently started using Dogma for grooming as well and have been happy with the results of each visit.Would definitely recommend Dogma to any other pet parents looking for a reliable and convenient daycare and grooming service in the West Village.

This is the best daycare in the WV and probably NYC. I have taken both of my dogs here and it has been nothing short of an amazing experience. My older dog passed a few months back and Jun and the staff sent me a card and and made me feel like family. I bring my younger dog here now and it’s helped him come out of his shell so much! He loves it just as much as his big brother did 🙂

DOGMA took really great care of my 10 year old Yorkie. I just rescued her about a year ago and I was nervous about boarding her, not sure how she would be and if boarding was an option for us. Well, DOGMA calmed all of my fears and I left that day feeling my girl was in the best hands! I was able to watch her with the other dogs on their daycare cameras and they gave me a mid weekend update, pictures and all. The prices were a bit higher than other places I considered but that was only because the care was higher. I highly recommend DOGMA and we will be back when Mom needs a weekend away!

We love everything about Dogma. Jun is so welcoming and treats every dog as if they were her own. Our mini-poodle, Sloane loves the time she spends at Dogma, especially her two hour power walks with the Bravo Pack! Sloane always has something fun to do while she’s at Dogma, like the Agility Training Course or a run on the doggie treadmill. Sloane always comes home tired, in a good way, and is ready for some snuggle time with the family. It is a lifesaver to have Dogma to turn to when we need it, without ever worrying that Sloane is in the best of hands. We love everyone at Dogma and we feel like they love Sloane.

Just picked up my Pom Wolfgang who is groomed by the master Shiro!!As a 35 year resident of Soho and a bornand raised city person; he is by far the best!His lovely personality and his talent: outstanding! My dog doesn’t even turn around to say goodbye to me when I drop him off!I love the place physically. It has a very calm zen environment. I feel they know how wonderful Shiro is, and that makes me like them all the more. Friendly fun place, professional and personal at the same time. My 11 month old Shih Tzu got a beautiful grooming then a professional photo shoot. Dogma is doing special events in addition to their regular services. I will definitely be back. Adding to this I am boarding Nugget now and getting reports and a cute picture of how hes doing. He loves it there and is having a nice vacation of his own while I am having mine. We both LOVE Dogma!

It’s very hard to know if your dog is being well taken care of when you drop him off at a groomer or a doggie day care. Dogma treats their clients with love. I have been a grooming client for a couple of years now and Jun, Shiro and all of Jun’s staff are always kind and accommodating. The space is always clean. Best of all my Bowie always comes out gorgeous, fluffy, and best of all happy.Dogma may be another out of your way, but they are worth it. It’s the only place I trust with my 🐶

What drew me to DOGMA was the large space with wide windows where dogs can run, play and sleep. There are also agility training sessions and power walks for more active dogs. Love bringing my Frenchie here! I bring her for grooming, daycare, and indoor playtime. Whenever we try to leave or walk down the block she wants to turn back! They do a great job cleaning her and she always is so happy picking her up. For daycare/indoor play group she comes home happy and exhausted. Its really nice were able to log in and see how she is on the Dog Cams. Highly recommend bringing your pup here for all your needs.

Dogma is excellent. Shiro came with a recommendation from a neighbor a few years ago for his gentle care and we’ve taken our wirehaired dachshund to be washed and groomed by him ever since. Staff are also friendly and helpful. Furthermore, there are no stairs to either enter the store or to the dog wash area (as other dog salons often have). Hence, it’s very easily accessible for any person or animal for whom mobility is more difficult, and I dont worry about our dog potentially being made to walk up or down steep stairs and hurting her back.

I wish there was a Dogma for humans! It is so relaxing the minute you walk in you want to get spa treatment!The staff is so kind and helpful. My Bichon Poodle puppy has gotten the best haircuts -they even have a groomer who specializes in puppies.For the amount of time they devote to your dog, 3 hours!, the price is extremely reasonable.I haven’t had the need to board my dog but would feel extremely comfortable leaving her there if the time came.4 paws up!

My puppy GG has been going to Dogma for several months after hearing rave reviews from multiple pet parents at the dog park. I was expecting good things but the level of service has far surpassed my already high expectations. Dogma and it’s staff are very professional but it is very apparent how much the staff really care. The facilities are great with lots of access to sunlight and the pups are well supervised and GG always comes home happy and exhausted. Highly recommend.

Most pet parents can agree, trying a new daycare can be scary. We went to DOGMA to qualify for agility courses. Leaving Dolce was easier knowing that the play areas have cameras and I could check how he was doing during the day. You could tell Dolce was treated with care upon returning and the goodie bag after a first successful day was a nice touch. Excited to come back and try agility!

This place really is incredible: the warmest owner and staff, the best value for day care around, clean and inviting spaces (for dogs and humans), and expert, detail-oriented grooming. Wonderful place to take your dog for grooming! Our Shiba Inu had poor experiences with other groomers, which made her hate grooming. We go to DOGMA for both grooming and overnight boarding. Our dog always looks spiffy after his grooming session - we tend to ask for his hair short and we havent noticed the clipping marks in his fur that hes gotten from other groomers.Dog boarding has been a positive experience. We are slightly neurotic pet parents but we have always felt that our pup is in safe hands at DOGMA and why were repeat customers. We purchase the 10-night packages (you dont need to use them in one go) which gives access to the live cameras - again, a godsend for those who want to check in on their pup at any hour.

In October when I adopted Bob, I knew I was going to need a home away from home and a groomer in the neighborhood. For trips away when we’re through the pandemic, for his baths and cuts and all that good dog stuff. DOGMA has an amazing, kind, friendly staff. Welcoming and helpful. So caring to the dogs and accommodating to the fur parents. Bob has been going to the agility playgroup 1-2 times a week and although he’s rather reserved and does his own thing, it’s so great to have a place he can go and be with other dogs. (Not to mention it’s nice for a couple hours working from home!) The value you get for DOGMA’s services are certainly some of the best in the city. I can’t recommend enough and will continue making DOGMA our go-to out of home doggie space on our neighborhood.

Best dog daycare and boarding in NYC! Like many dog owners, one of the most stressful elements of traveling is providing for the wellbeing of my dog while Im away. With Dogma, any time I leave town, its like Rocco is going on a vacation too. He always comes back so happy and exhausted from all the fun he had.The staff is so knowledgable, caring, and communicative. I am particularly grateful for the work Cynthia did with Rocco. When Rocco displayed aggression towards another dog, she worked with him through 4 personalized at-home sessions to help address the root cause of his stress and safely reintegrate him into playing with other dogs. Now, he socializes with confidence and makes friends easily. Five very well deserved stars!

Id give DOGMA ten stars, if I could. And my dog, Quinnie, would probably insist on giving it twenty. Quinnies a Dachshund/Italian Greyhound rescue who has great instincts and is never loathe to express her opinion. The first time she walked into DOGMA, she felt relaxed and at home instantly. The next time she was so eager to go, she pulled me through the door. Shes always greeted by warm, enthusiastic dog-lovers who know both us by name when we walk through the door. She loves the Agility Workshop where she burrows through tunnels, jumps over obstacles and even goes skateboarding! She comes home happy and tired, which makes me happy as well. DOGMA has taught her to socialize with other dogs and with other people. Ive never had a moments hesitation about leaving Quinnie in the loving care of Jun (the fabulous owner), Michael (dog whisperer extraordinaire) and Shiro (serene and magical groomer) or any of the lovely staff. Theres only one problem: weve been so spoiled by DOGMA, I dont know what were going to do when we move to the UWS. Im hoping I can persuade Jun and Shiro to open DOGMA 2; then everything will be perfect.

They are so gentle and patient with him.Maui loves to come and have play dates in the wonderful open space where he can look out of the large picture window onto Seventh Avenue South.Jun and her staff are so accommodating and professional. Dogma is great. I don’t take my dogs as much as I should and I’d like to change that. It’s my favorite doggie daycare in the city. Everyone there is great. Plus you can watch on their cameras.
