It was Field Day for our students, and we had big fun. It was my first time visiting this park. It was in the late morning that we arrived, and the ground crew was busy trying to clean up the field. I hear its very busy in this area in the late afternoon & evenings. Its a popular spot for the Dominicans to congregate and hang out with their peops. Its by the Hudson River, so theres a nice breeze passing through. It was a large open field to play outdoor games. We brought blankets and had lunch picnic style, which I really enjoyed, because it brought back fond memories of childhood with my church families 🥹.We ate our package lunch under a blackberry tree, like one big happy family. It was cool because parents & family members accompanied our classes. The weather was perfect and most of all, the children had the best time ever🏐🪁🎈🎉🧃🍒🍓🥪🥗

We walk our dogs in this park a few days a week. The crew that cleans up the park does a fantastic job but I really wish the other groups that use the park would pick up their trash, chicken bones and corona bottle caps are everywhere. Be careful walking on the weekends aggressive cyclists will almost run you over. Regardless of my gripes I really love walking in the park

This is a great spot to Relax and enjoy the views of jersey and the GWB. We walked to the little Red Lighthouse for some pictures.

My favorite to go place which has lots of amazing views. It lies below the Washington bridge and on the side of beautiful Hudson river. There is lots of open space , playground, swings and other material for playing. This place is always crowded since most of the people go their for evening walk. Also this place is best for running and doing exercise. There is spot for family picnic as well. Absolutely a hidden gem on the bank of Hudson river.

  • Review 6 (2024-05-09 - Rating: 5)

Cars and their resultant litter are not in a great part of the park.i love the Hudson River.2023-0311 was given a tour by Riverside Park Conservancy. Amazing work is being done. River, hills visible for first time in 50 years or more.2024-0508 walkthrough with Robert of RPC. Seeing several pollinator gardens and many new plantings.

  • Review 7 (2020-10-11 - Rating: 5)

Biking or walking around this park is great . Stopping from time to time to enjoy the views of the Hudson and New Jersey and downtown manhattan is a must . Great locations for pictures . Much more busy on the weekends when people come to have family time and picnic.

  • Review 8 (2024-08-18 - Rating: 5)

Amazing park! The park is very clean. It has an amazing playground for children. Several free barbecue areas that are very clean and portable toilets.

  • Review 9 (2018-06-30 - Rating: 4)

Excellent views and trails for runners, walkers and bikers alike. There are few places to enter and exit where I was staying up near Columbia hospital, so access was a bit difficult. Bikes also go excessively fast and can surprise you, but river views are second to none. Runners are hard pressed to find longer stretches of flat-ish paths without cars.

  • Review 10 (2020-05-27 - Rating: 5)

What an incredible experience walking with my friend. It was refreshing and delightful to be in an area that didnt have that city vibe or curated landscaping. It was relaxing and exquisite.

  • Review 11 (2023-08-30 - Rating: 5)

I wanted to find the little red lighthouse and I did. The trail has beautiful views of the river and the bridge.

  • Review 12 (2021-06-17 - Rating: 5)

Thunderstorm was approaching as I took my walk. Then this creepy guy in a black and yellow umbrella came and sat two feet from me. I had to move. So much space and he had to set up his chair right next to me. Lord have mercy!Seems like he was waiting for the rain so he can bath in it.Omg watch out for this guy if you ever walking and a storm is coming.NYC life is real! Watch out be safe. Blessings to all always!

  • Review 13 (2024-06-27 - Rating: 5)

So scenic and, in manyplaces, quiet enough to gather your thoughts without being interrupted. Lots of places to pull off the trail and...rest. Ahhhhh. Definitely recommend on a not so hot day though. Most of the trail is very exposed.

  • Review 14 (2021-08-06 - Rating: 5)

July 5, 2021 So beautiful and I enjoyed the lighthouse. I wish I could have gotten a better picture but you know there’s always people around in New York lol.

  • Review 15 (2020-08-15 - Rating: 4)

Great place to cook out and the kids to play, but if if youre grilling get here early people start claiming spots as early as 5am. There are port a Johns but there a little walk from the grilling area and bring a roll of toilet paper just in case.

  • Review 16 (2024-04-26 - Rating: 5)

This is a nice park along the northwestern edge of the city. There are 2 long paths you can take for a walk/run or bike ride(one near the train tracks and one closer to the water). Also available are tennis courts, baseball fields, playgrounds, workout area and I believe soccer fields. On nice days you can get a lovely view of the downtown skyline of the city and New Jersey. Highly recommend if you’re in the area or have some free time and want to see another part of NYC. Oh and the last lighthouse built on the island is located here if you’re into history/historical landmarks.

  • Review 17 (2020-07-01 - Rating: 4)

This is a great place to stop while bike riding. The view can be lovely specially if it is not humid. You can easily sit by the water appreciate the bridge to one side and the city to the other. The only reason why i give a 4 is noise. The traffic from the bridge and the current construction happening makes a lot ñf sound pollution but other than this it is a great place to walk and speand time with someone.

  • Review 18 (2017-06-27 - Rating: 4)

Awsome views of the G.W. Bridge and surroundings. Extensive trail system with intricate stone walls, stairs and parapets with great views of the Hudson. Very hilly and a good workout.

  • Review 19 (2023-06-05 - Rating: 5)

Ive been coming here since childhood to relax and let go. This place indeed has changed over the years. The best time to come is during weekdays and preferably in the mornings.

  • Review 20 (2018-07-07 - Rating: 4)

I enjoy commuting in the green way. There are areas of the park that need to be repaved and does create a hazard for cyclist. This is a great place to take a stroll and relax. Lots of wild life and bustling waterway traffic. Awesome views of the George Washington Bridge and the light house as well.

  • Review 21 (2018-10-10 - Rating: 5)

This park is fantastic! Theres a close-up and lovely view of the George Washington Bridge. If you live in New York, I suppose you go to the nearest park that has what youre looking for. Looking at NJ from NY isnt as pleasant as looking at NY from NJ, but its still enjoyable. There is a lighthouse and some historical buildings if you are interested in history. You can get on a walking and biking trail here and follow it all the way down the coast.

There are also excellent, picturesque view of the Jersey skyline and on a a good day you can see all the way down to Midtown, Manhattan. Definitely a good date spot as well if you’re looking to have a nice walk and the backdrop of a skyline to make out in front of or take a selfie lol.

Went on a Sunday morning walk with friends and the first thing you notice is how quiet and remote this park is. Plenty of space to relax, jog or ride bikes or play tennis. Gorgeous views of the George Washington bridge, the Little Red Lighthouse, Palisades and the Hudson River. Amtrak also passes by frequently as noted by the horn blowing. Great place to bring the kids and the dog. I cant believe Ive never been here till today.

Great park if youre looking for basketball/tennis courts or a REALLY nice view of the coastline of lower New York and New Jersey.Located under the George Washington Bridge is this really nice and quiet park. Ive only been through 2 entrances which were the bike trail and a small trail that leads underneath the highway to the George Washington Bridge. Although you have to travel much more than you would with other parks, its well worth it when you see the beautiful view.People here are pretty friendly. Mostly encounter cyclists passing by as the park is conveniently located right on the West Henry Drive. Aside from that, theres always park events going on.

Great place to do a number of things. There are tennis courts, a volleyball court and a bike path. The Little Red Lighthouse is a good place to stop. The rest rooms near there are out of order, but there are port-o-sans. People fish from the rocks on the Hudson bank. Working water fountains are needed.

  • Review 101 (2022-08-09 - Rating: 5)

Im confused Google. Am I supposed to rate a park differently than another park? Is there something in the grass I dont know that you think I should talk about? Are the trees more mighty? Perhaps the benches are less full of splinters? What, Google, what am I meant to rate about parks that prompts you to ask me to write reviews about them?

This is the place to find the Little Red Lighthouse of storybook fame. The walk is wonderful and you feel transported away from the fact that you have crossed over a highway to get there. Once there, there is nearly no bad angle from which to take a picture. If you were a fan of the book as a child, be sure to add this stop to your bucket list.

  • Review 113 (2019-09-02 - Rating: 5)

This park is a different world because its hidden from the city. Its a great place to bike, jog, and even picnic. Its a get away from the city type of park. The best thing about this place is that it connects to many other hidden parks along the West side of NYC.

  • Review 114 (2018-07-29 - Rating: 5)

I usually ride my bike to work an take this route, it has an amazing view, and a lot of things to do, tennis courts , soccer fields , a lot of tables and bbq areas, definitely a great place to sown the day with family and kids

  • Review 115 (2017-02-23 - Rating: 5)

This place is beautiful. Be aware if you are on the walking/biking/running path between the water and train that it does not connect to the trail further south. You will have to turn around.

  • Review 116 (2019-06-08 - Rating: 4)

It is a great place to visit, relax, play tennin and bring you kids and pets. They have a very nice old red lighthouse. The only problem there is that even with a lot of signs saying to yeld to pedestrians still a lots of bicicles running around and you needs to be dodging them all day long

  • Review 117 (2023-05-08 - Rating: 5)

    Amazing during sunset

  • Review 118 (2022-07-18 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful and peaceful. Great place to just get away and get your thoughts together. Enjoy the scenery. Enjoy yourself. And find the peace within you.

  • Review 119 (2018-12-23 - Rating: 4)

Love the light house. We went with a school trip when the kids were younger. The area needs a good cleaning. They could also use a bit of security. There is no presence of any police or parks department patroling the area. If walking their from one Broadway there needs to be a be facelift. Not easy to get too.

  • Review 127 (2022-09-28 - Rating: 5)

Best bridge in New York bar none. City parks under and around the area and walking directly across on New Jersey connects you to the palisades park. Tons to explore.

  • Review 128 (2013-11-03 - Rating: 4)

A really nice park with lots of greenery. Nice for cycling as youre past the crowds further south on the west side and youre removed from the highway, surrounded by trees. Nice and relaxing!

  • Review 129 (2021-09-10 - Rating: 5)

I actually visited The Hudson restaurant there. Great views of the river and the GW Bridge. I saw boats as well as some guys out there on jetskis! There must be somewhere close by to rent Im assuming.

  • Review 139 (2015-12-31 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic location, going there is a bit tricky, so I wouldnt recommend for the elderly, but the lighthouse is great place to visit. Theres a few benches near the lighthouse to sit, watch the water, eat lunch, etc. Great place to visit at least once.

  • Review 143 (2017-11-07 - Rating: 5)

Im afraid of heights. The new suicide fencing is reassuring in one sense; thought-provoking in another. The Hudson Valley sweeps through the countryside, littering rocks, water and sky in unmeasured quantities as it encounters a great human landmark. This is the best view of it all.

  • Review 144 (2017-10-29 - Rating: 4)

This is a nice park with plenty to do and a great view of the George Washington Bridge. People are always around to make it feel safe. It’s a great place for a picnic or playing some games.

  • Review 151 (2020-07-22 - Rating: 5)

Great park, but 160 acres and one set of functioning bathrooms???? Who planned this set up. Once the fairway@127th street closes, the situation will only get worse.🥵😦😖😣.

  • Review 152 (2017-06-16 - Rating: 5)

Whether you are a died-in-the-wool New Yorker or a newly arrived tourist this park is a must-see. It covers the northern tip of Manhattan and can be accessed from Broadway, the West Side Highway and the Henry Hudson Bridge. It is full of trails and old growth trees and Bald eagles have been raised in these woods during the past few years. I run in this park from time to time and it is relatively safe. It is well utilized even during a weekday early afternoon. During the seventies and eighties there were hobos, etc. living in the parks caves and crime was a problem but that is not the case now, although there was an NYPD poster on several trees during my last visit asking for information on the death in the park of a young woman. This is NYC after all. Dont leave without checking out the rock that memorializes the site of the sale of Manhattan way back when.

  • Review 153 (2016-10-11 - Rating: 5)

This is probably the most scenic park in NYC. It sits high on the Hudson with an amazing view of the GWB and TZ bridges. It is nice and breezy and never to hot for the basketball court. I nice get away from the urban jungle.
