Im a veteran who graduated from the vet dog program. The ENTIRE staff is amazing. I feel like the dog they trained and gave me is the best of the best. They paid for me to fly from CO, placed me in a great facility to live, trained me to be a handler, and fed me for two full weeks. I didnt pay a dime. This place has changed my life and I would do this 100x again if asked. There are some rules here. This is a dry campus. Any vet should have zero issues with this place after all of the institution and structure theyve already been through. One more thing I really appreciated about this place is all of the community and connections I made. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, all of you. -

No problems at all, some advice to all this is to help. Please take it as such. No need for negative feedback. I did not write the rules, requirements, or anything else. Ive had two Service Dogs and these are the steps I took, and achieved the purpose I needed to.Read / Ask Questions / Contact by Phone / Veterans go through your VA. Contact the Service Animal POC at your VA, Below are the steps I took and had no issues.1. Get a letter from your Doctor stating that your quality of life would improve by having a Service Dog. Your (NEED) has to meet requirements to qualify with a Disability according to the ADA.* No there is no official certification, Take your and read theAmerican Disabilities Act (ADA).2. Find the POC, If you want insurance through the VA they will have a list of Training Centers they approve. I signed a document opting out of the insurance.* Even if you turn down the insurance they can still provide you with the list of training sites they use.3. Go through a basic handling course. Pretty much any chain pet stores provide this training. Must training sites Ive seen a basic handling and obedience evaluation will be given. I have seen animals denied for not having the basics.Ask questions, think how many different tasks are out there to assist people to improve their daily activities.* Take your and read the American Disabilities Act (ADA).Do your research / Read everything for yourself / Ask questions even if you think you know. (You know nothing) / Get contact numbers, most importantly names of contacts. Veterans go through your VA. -

These people have treated me like family since 2008. Great people doing a great service. I was injured in 2004 in Iraq, and theyve been fantastic since I came in contact with them. Im on my second dog, now, and the program just gets better and better. -
