Been coming to this vet for years now for my pups. They’re very upfront when it comes to pricing & compared to other vets in the city they are more affordable. The staff has always been very diligent & professional. The vet is also great & charismatic.A few experiences include:One of my dogs, a pitbull, eating something they shouldn’t have. They gave me an estimate for everything they recommended and then helped me reduce it to only what was absolutely necessary to do in that moment such as meds and x-ray. My pit got better within a few days since the item wasn’t lodged anywhere & it passed naturally.Another one of my dogs, a chihuahua, unfortunately passed away recently due to old age. They were extremely gracious and handled my pup (and me) with so much care even though I was a mess. They gave me time to say my goodbye privately & did not rush me at all.I would highly recommend their service & will continue coming here ❤️

Best vet in the area. Always have a good experience taking my dog. Theyre quick to respond to schedule an appointment. They get you in and out efficiently without making you feel rushed. They give my pet what she needs, and while they may suggest other things that may be helpful for her, theyre not pushy at all if you feel you dont need that extra stuff, which Ive found at other vets. And if its a busy time and you have to wait in lobby, theyre attentive and communicative about whats going on and where you are in line.

Dont recommend at all took our feral cat who was obviously sick place suggested by local rescue. In the doorway they immediately diagnois the cat with diabetes then a 3 day estimate of $1,500+ultrasound . Next day phone call she needs to be put to sleep cancer vet not in until 12 30 same day before . Went in told cat had diabetes?cancer? suffering needing to be put to sleep took one look at this stunning feral peting her yes she was sick possibly poison possibly sick who knows I do know NO LITTLE CLINIC IN LESS THAN ONE DAY GETS A DIABETIC AND/OR CANCER DIAGNOSIS . They are charging the FULL 3DAYS plus ultrasound and legally I dont see a way out ! The one star is for the office cat a real beauty . This vet thought we were newbies in the neighborhood they are wrong been here since the 1970s.IM APOLOZINGTOOK MY SERVICE DOG LUCY ÌN YESTERDAY SHE IS A RESTWHOLEHEARTLY FOR MY FIRST REVIEW IT WAS A MISTAKE ON MY PART . THEY OUTSOURCE THEIR TEST THEIR TEST COME BACK ON AN AMAZING TIMELY MANNER. THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL AND EXPLAINED IT SHOWED IT ALL INCLUDING ULTRASOUND TO US . SO I WE MY FAMILY GIVE THEM A FULL APOLOGY FOR EVERYTHING WRITEN HERE . I DO RECOMMEND THEM .YESTERDAY APRIL 1 2024 I TOOK MY 10 YEAR OLD SERVICE DOG A RESCUE TO THIS PRACTICE . We are new to the area and were in need of a vet quickly to address my pups gooey eyes. Riverside got us in next day! When we arrived a staff had us complete new client paperwork and weighed both my boys for their check-ups. We were taken back to a room within about 5 minutes, where both boys could be together. The vet and a staff person were in right away to check out the boys, prescribe an ointment and show us how to administer. They gave us the option of taking a culture now or waiting to see if the medication worked, which was appreciated. They were so great to work with, professional, explained everything clearly and most importantly my pups left happy and taken care of.

I actually met Dr. Ramos back in 2000 when I first took my cat Mia to the clinic, my cat was not friendly at all and she was so wild I had politely and not so politely kicked out of a few places until I found his clinic. I was very happy because I could afford his prices and he was very positive and wanted to treat my cat even thought she used get awfully crazy every time. Now I have a puppy and Dr. Ramos has been treating her and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his practice. I feel we as pet owners have to listen to the doctors recommendations and yes, sometimes many tests are needed in order to diagnose what is really going on, is the same as with a human patient and a doctor for humans, you need to do checkups and tests regularly even if you are healthy and even more if you are sick. I have always followed his advice and have done what he has recommended and I have found out that down the line regular planned visits and tests give me very happy healthy pets that require less visits to the vet, I say that because Mia my cat is still alive, she is now almost 18 and is no longer as wild as she used to be but she is well and healthy thanks to doctor Ramos and his team.

These folks really know their stuff and they’re quick. My cat had an infected ingrown claw and they fixed him up with stitches, antibiotics and a new regimen within an hour. Sweet people. Take your baby animal here!!!

Ive been taking my dog there for more than 3 years now and from where I live its a commute, but very worth it. They are the best!!!! Helped my dog, when no other Vet could. Their clinic is thoroughly clean and the staff are amazing...take it from me & my dog, Biggie smalls🐶😁

The staff are very nice and welcoming. The lady that was giving my kitten a physical exam was perfect she knew what she was doing and she saw my vet bill was very high and that I couldn’t afford it so she gave me tips of what he actually needs to live. The vet is my only problem, he was in a hurry for some reason, rushing me to speak while I was stuttering bc I was scared for my kitten. I can tell he cares about money a lot more than the pets. This place is pricey but so far my kitten is doing progress.

The Doctor’s are really helpful and supportive, they always look out for your pets best intentions. Providing the best care. I’m glad the Doctor’s ors love for these little ones truly shows. I am always reminded of my pets vaccine dates and I see how much they really care.Just one more thing, this Mexican girl gave my mom an EXTREMELY attitude. Thinking we were not going to pay, and kept mouthing off yelling in Spanish “YOU NEED TO PAY HERE.”3 times, When I got there my mom didn’t tell me she gave her an attitude until we got outside and she told me what happen. She’s lucky I am not those people that creates a hostile environment. Clearly when my mom was just patiently waiting for me to arrive with the money so I can make the payment. I suggest the clinic gets a better team to handle their pets care and someone that can have patience with the owners. My dog came in their bleeding we didnt and don’t need !! the attitude and careless behavior from your staff.

My friend recommend this clinic when my cat was very sick. Luna wouldnt eat and was losing weight very fast. I decided to call them up and they were very accommodating when fitting me in the schedule! The wait time was appropriate, the office was clean, and the staff was helpful! The Dr. was very knowledgeable and he even explained to me, showing me pictures in a textbook, what was happening with Luna! He later suggested Luna get an x-ray as well as other options. I kindly rejected some options, while keeping treatments I thought was best for Luna to get better! Glad I did get the X-ray, it showed fluid build-up in his lungs and explained why he didnt want to eat. Days later, he is back up & running around the house. We will be back, thank you to the entire staff!

It was so so nervous, extremely scared to take my senior 13yr shitzu for grooming because he needed to be sedated but the doctor was very kind and staff and made me feel sure that everything will be okay, and everything went amazing! he only did sedation when it was truly needed and everything was so quick! i love so much that i didnt have to wait for hours , my baby was ready in a hour !!! i was truly amazed and will be bringing my baby back for grooming! i can finally breathe knowing my doggy will come home back to me alive :)

After reading a few of these frantic reviews I was concerned about taking my senior dog here for the first time.My apt application requested my doggies health certificate, and since hes been due for his yearly shots I needed to find a place to treat near me, ASAP.Called many places, they all had limited appointments and nothing ASAP; nothing until i tried Riverside Vet Clinic.The receptionist answer the phones right away, was very helpful answering questions and my appointment was booked rapidly for the next day at noon.I was running late, called to let them know and there was no issue.Arrived with my noisy dog, was greeted warmly and professionally by the front desk staff.The wait time was prompt and loved the fact that they were bilingual (English/Spanish)There were two male veterinarian involved in my doggies visit, both very professional and attentive.My doggies treatment was done properly and satisfactorily.Would recommend for vaccinations, shots and exams!Thanks Guys, for your noble work!Blessings!

Just adopted my cat whom I suspected has developed a UTI. They fit me in immediately today with no wait, were very quick (in a good way), and were very kind to my sweet cat. Gave me a full list of treatment recommendations which, while Im sure were very good, were more expensive than I can handle right now. I did not feel pressured, and they reduced the treatment to the most necessary for right now (still not inexpensive, to be honest, but I am aware that NYC is expensive for everyone, especially businesses). Will come back :)

I took my cat in for her normal check up and we noticed she had a problem with her teeth. She had to have two removed. The process was scary, expensive, and a bit overwhelming for us. The Riverside staff spent hours on the phone with our insurance company, even though it is their policy to not get involved with insurances, to help us, and then worked with us on the charges the insurance didnt cover. They answered every one of my questions, were willing to write things down and email them to help me keep track, and gave us regular updates. Our baby got to come home yesterday and is doing great now.

This place was great! It was night and day (in a good way) compared to another vet Ive been to in the Heights. Riverside was professional and responsive. They fit me in same day and the appointment went both quickly and humanely. I didnt have to wait to see the doctor at all and was in and out. Five stars!!! Highly recommend.

Friendly, professional service and the wait was not long, especially for a Sunday. Dr. Ramos was helpful, knowledgeable and very nice. He was also very sweet and patient with our little girl cat. The day after our visit, we got a courtesy call from the staff just to check up on our cat; they asked us to call them if or when we needed anything or had any questions. Very nice place.

They have been my pets Doctor for years, and my experience has been excellent. Last year my cat had a critical condition and the Vet was precise with the diagnosis and was fast treating her. Thanks to them, she is now doing great. Their prices are much lower than most of the veterinarian in the city, specially when is time to do tests and hospitalization. I highly reccomend them.

Well, mom has a dog and we were on an urgent search to find a clinic. We live in the Bronx and each clinic we called had dates out in July to see a dog that needed help not today but 3 days ago. We understand the coronavirus and all these things happening however those are problems we can not solve and our only concern at the time was the well being of the poodle my mother owns. It is basically the happiest living creature at home. She was in pain and on a hunger strike.Well we called yesterday as we began our search in Manhattan and queens. Not saying that other clinics underestimated our problem, but it was unfortunate we had to go so far to get our dog help. We considered it a very fast threat against the well being of her dog.First day we notice we did not do much because we thought it was something that could heal on its own. Second day we tried our best helping the dog and started calling her primary vet. No walk ins and no emergencies. They told us to call other clinics. Third day we basically went on rampage mode and very emotional. One clinic tells us a week, another tells us two weeks. However, we needed the help ASAP. We basically called and booked everywhere we could and Riverside was the clinic that offered the earliest appointment.The dog, Hillary, was taken good care of. She did need surgery and we needed her to stay heal. The doctor helped my mom and the dog as he should. A little expensive but the demand was necesary and our dog needed help. We can’t choose to save money and have our lovely dog suffer with out knowing what we could do to help her.Mom was told the dog should stay in the clinic but when she found out there will not be a vet at the clinic overnight with a lot of emotions my mom decided she can’t leave the dog unnatended overnight. Hillary needs to be with her family, leaving her alone is too scary of a decision (specially for my mom). That dog sleeps away from home and I think mom will have a panic attack if she knows she can’t stay with her.We appreciate the work, the effectiveness, and the care the doctor provided to Hillary and now we are hoping she goes through a great recovery.I am surprised other people post negative comments or I don’t know what other people went through but our experience was excellent. I will also update this post when our dog returns to eating her normal food.The dog was very happy to see us. This clinic is far from home so we will not make it our main clinic, but we are very happy that the service needed was provided.

My pom got really sick and was showing signs of internal bleeding. I was in desperate need to be seen. I walked in at 6:45pm without calling and they were supposed to close at 7:00pm. Both the lead veterinarian and the assistant saw me as soon as I walked in the door and took Bellas situation into their hands. I shared with them that I was a student and I needed to be financially careful. They accommodated me very professionally with a list of quotes of prices for all possible options for treatment before moving forward. I feel very good about my experience! I am sure they saved Bellas life. Bella and I have a new veterinary home.

The doctors identified the issue, took her for a few hours to shave and disinfect the irritated area, gave us meds, and a lot of useful information. Very helpful and kind. They even trimmed her nails (for an additional cost). Front desk clerk was also friendly and helpful!

I recently took a guinea pig here that I saved from a pet shop and I just want to say that this is the only place I was able to find that helps guinea pigs. The doctor was so knowledgeable about guinea pigs and very caring. I was able to get an x Ray, pain shot, and pain meds for an affordable price. The staff was very nice and the place was very clean, they even have their own pets in the clinic. Now, Lucky(the guinea pig I saved) has made so much progress, he is starting to walk a little bit and is eating and drinking on his own. I’m so happy and thankful that the doctor helped him because I was scared he was going to get euthanasia. I will continue going to this clinic to get check ups and meds. Thank you!

My pets and I love this clinic! I take my pitbull Terry there at least once a month for grooming. He loves it there. Thr staff is super helpful and they make sure to take care of all of Terrys needs. They treat him like family and I love that. Terry is healthy and very playful for a dog his age and its all thanks to the staff at this clinic. Theyre always suggesing different foods and places I can take him for a good work out. As far as my fishes thanks to their recommendation on changing their diet I do see a big difference. My family has included 2 other cats over the years which we would take downtown or to Westchester when they needed to go to the clinic. But with Tobi I wanted to find a hospital in the neighborhood because he doesn’t like to travel. I am so happy I found Riverside Veterinary Clinic! The clinic is clean, doesn’t smell and they remember his name. When I would go downtown to the animal hospital I would get different doctors, no one knew who we were and then they would send you to this payment area. It feels so different at RVC...they remember you, they’re very knowledgeable and upfront about fees. My second cat Fiesti died from renal failure and I’ve worried it was because of the food I fed her from our local supermarket. Luckily, RVC has premium food I can give to Tobi to keep him healthy. They’re good people, give them a try.

The staff were very helpful clarifying the estimate process. It’s always a difficult process to have to take care of a sick pet. Make sure to ask about items they include in the estimate, they will be very patient and explain everything, even at 6:50 pm on a Friday.

So Ive been to this vet twice this year already. Both times my death seeker of a cat got his lil fur butt saved by the Drs and staff here. Im super grateful for them. Theyre very professional and understanding. They will give two separate sheets with price estimations. One has the bare minimum for whats needed for treatment and the other with what the Dr. recommended to be more thorough. Again the staff is awesome and the prices are honestly not expensive considering the amount of treatment my cat needed both times he visited. Thanks again to the staff here. Yall are awesome. ❤️

I’ve taken my puppy a few times here and have no complaints. Everyone is nice and my puppy is always taken care of quickly and efficiently. They have available appointments unlike other veterinary clinics who don’t have any openings until months later. I will continue bringing my puppy here

I have a cat who’s about to be 2 years old by the name of savage I came to find out through someone else that my cat may possibly have blockage and kidney stones. Everyone was charging me crazy amount of money and riverside vet was the closes to my home. Now when I tell you they sat down with me and explained everything detail by detail they did they were patient especially Dominic and the Spanish light skinned girl with the glasses unfortunately I don’t remember her name. Because I couldn’t afford the $2000 for the procedures he needed cause he also had an ear infection and had not been vaccinated it was going to be costly, they found me another option which came out to be $650. Things I could take cere of myself since I’m in the medical field they eliminated off the list. They did a 3 day treatment on him. They removed the blockage the kidney stones and they were just waiting on him to eat something and be able to use the bathroom on his own without the catheter. They allowed me to go visit him and sit with him and see him and it was emotional. But those 2 staff members right there were AMAZING! I highly recommend them because they have something that a lot of other vets lack, which is empathy and compassion. When I picked up my cat they Gave me detailed instructions about his recovery and after care. Will I be taking my cat back if needed? ABSOLUTELY! They were amazing & they really worked with me in the financial aspect. It was an emergency service and my cat is now running around, energetic,using the litter on his own and resting I couldn’t be much happier. Thank you to the staff of riverside vet clinic and thank you to Dominic and the Spanish girl at the front with the glasses my family and I really appreciate you guys!

I took my dog there for fleas and they ended up keeping him there overnight to do a flea bath. Getting into the room wasn’t a long wait but seeing the dr. Did take a while. He explained everything well as far as the process but they didn’t explain why he needed two medications after the fact. They also forgot to put his cone in when I picked him up but they rectified the situation after I called. When I called to speak to the dr. He was very helpful. I would take my pe back again.
