I felt so comfortable the moment I walked in! I’ve taken my newly adopted cat to two other vets before (she had several health issues when we adopted her) and finally feel like this is the best fit for us. The staff greeted us so nicely when we arrived. The space is clean, organized, and odor free. Everyone was so helpful and we were seen at our scheduled appointment time. I feel she is in good hands here with a staff that is skilled, empathetic and professional!

Dr. Lee, tech Tamera, and front desk Merisa were phenomenal (as always) helping us with our Mozzie who needed to be seen for a broken tooth, poor guy. Hes going to need a procedure in a few weeks, but we were given estimates, cared for gently, and given reassurance for the whole experience. Also, wonderful shout-out to Dr. Gi who emailed us on New Years to talk us through broken teeth.

We absolutely love the whole team here. Despite moving to the UES where there are vets aplenty, we still make the trip here because the staff are so warm and friendly. Our pup gets nervous at vet visits but they’ve always helped us keep him (and us) calm. They’re incredibly efficient, getting us in and out in a timely manner, and the office is pristine and welcoming. Highly recommend coming here for your fur babies, knowing they’ll get the best care and love possible.

Since her passing in June 2022, Louie had been a source of comfort and love for Ryan and our family. We HIGHLY recommend West Village Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Angela Hildenbrand. Dr. Hildenbrand is empathetic, compassionate, highly intelligent, and well-versed in veterinary care. She is also humble enough to know her limitations and help arrange appointments with specialists (the next day!) who can properly diagnose specialized issues.Our dog, unfortunately, passed from his multiple chronic conditions, but our lasting memory of Dr. Hildenbrand will be her compassion toward our little guy. He was rapidly losing weight and had a diminished appetite in his final days, unable to lift his head due to a fast-growing mass on his neck. Without hesitation, Dr. Hildenbrand grabbed a can of food, got down on the floor, and began hand-feeding him at his level. Somehow she was able to get him to eat during our visit. It makes us tear up every time we think about it. In the nearly 15 years of our beautiful dogs life, we have never witnessed that level of compassion shown to him and us, his parents. If and when the time comes for us to get another dog, we will be seeing Dr. Hildenbrand WITHOUT A DOUBT. We enthusiastically recommend her and West Village Veterinary Hospital.

Team care for my dog, friends pet (when i refer them) amazingly. They do go above to aid your pet. They can be little strict, price fair but some bit high but what you expect its in NYC. Dr. Lee, Dr. Smith (when he was here), Dr. Hild are all amazing. Doc took care of dog who no longer here (10/2021) & i am very grateful for everything they did get him better. My little was bit terror! Dont know the other Dr but meet them by pacing (i was former employee occ when in area come visit, sometimes use bathroom if allowd) they are pleasant! Audrey, LVT now HM, Bri LVT are graceful, understanding & smart!! Shoutout to anyone is still there who i worked with previously...keep rocking

Everyone at West Village Vet is supportive and kind and helpful. They have been very involved in the care of our elder dog (13 y.o. Pomeranian) and this recent visit demonstrated they are just as present with our other dog, our tiny 5 y.o.Chihuahua. Dr Gi is our primary vet and she is always available and sensitive to our questions and needs. We receive quick responses and their overall communication system is easy to navigate. We highly recommend.

Dr. Hildenbrand and staff are great. The office is very clean. We are always scheduled correctly and seen on time.Dr. Hildenbrand is very caring and knowledgeable. Takes factors of breed, diet, lifestyle habits and geographic location in consideration for the care of your furry child. She cared for Franky since he was 4 months old and soon he will be 4 years old. At 1.5 years old he was diagnosed with lyme. With correct testing, early diagnosis ,prompt treatment and preventive treatment , luckily Franky did not have any symptoms. On last blood work he tested negative for lyme. Franky is healthy and happy.We moved outside the city but we still go to Dr. Hildenbrand clinic for the excellent care. We are grateful.

I do not joke around with it comes to standards, and i am willing to set the world on fire for my pug loaf.Last Easter, i went to vet after vet, they wanted to perform surgery on my pug without a scan, or they needed 1 month only to schedule a check up.I prayed, and my angels guided me here,Dr. Obyrne went out of her way to fit my pug loaf for cancer surgery right before easter vacation, she saw the severity, and made no excuses. I canceled my trip to paris, and Dr. Obyrne made it happen. My pug loaf is healthy, and better than ever, shes like a 11 year old puppy.The staff is amazing, helpful and friendly,I have never had a bad experience.I felt at ease, because it didnt feel like a shady car repair shop feeling, the people are geniune there.Even as Covid 19 is going on,They are the only ones accepting and reminding me to go get the annual check up and vaccines, while everywhere else is closed.Thank God 🙌As for pricing, i honestly believe,in life you get what you pay for,I only go with here or vetco.Fair is fair, cheap is cheap, dont mix those two up, you and your pet will be fine.Hope this helps anyone make a sound choice.

The communication for appointments is excellent, taking care of the pet is their priority, regardless of the price of the service. I saw 2 doctors in 2 different times throughout 2022 and 2023. Dr.Lee is my favourite as she is so compassionate and thorough. I definitely will book another appointment with Dr.Lee to complete my cat’s dental extraction workup. The nurses are so tender and sweet, as well as the front desk. I highly recommend this hospital due to their professionalism and experience. Their prices are like other clinics, but with quality.

I discovered this place when I was in the neighborhood earlier last year and thought it would be a great place for my cat as my area doesnt have a decent one and this is right next to the A train. The visit was pleasant! Staffs were attentive and smiled all the time. They also cleaned the exam room after each pet! Thats very important to me. :)

We love West Village Veterinary! We have been taking our dog here for three years now. Dr. Dan Smith is our absolute favorite, but the entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Altogether, consistently the best veterinary experience Ive had anywhere. I highly recommend it.

Our vet is Dr Daniel Smith who is compassionate, always listens, and he discusses options with me and together we make a decision.The staff is efficient and makes sure you are taken care of.Izzy has had to have multiple teeth surgeries and other things and Dr Smith took care of the problem and followed up to make sure there were no problems.I recommend them highly!

Dr Lee and Stacy at reception were amazing when my cat was sick and needed emergency surgery - kind, patient, supportive and very professional. They fit me in right away, even though they were booked until much later. The final charge was less than the initial estimate & they were very sensitive about not adding on extra procedures & fees, focusing on what was necessary and explaining options that were discretionary. Dr Lee called multiple times to follow up and no extra charge for the mandatory post-surgical follow up visit. My regular vet @ the Cat Practice (love them) recommended WVVH for this specialized procedure that might involve overnight care. Well worth it.

Not enough great things to say about Dr. Hildenbrandt and the rest of the staff here. I had a scary emergency with my pup yesterday, Im also 8 months pregnant, so I was having a little meltdown in the office. They talked through all options with me to get my fur baby healthy again, took such amazing care of her for the hours I was in there, and helped me feel better/calm down as my hormones were rampant throughout the entire process.She was super understanding and compassionate. The nursing and front desk staff were wonderful as well. We had our follow up visit today which went perfectly and we have another tomorrow until were officially out of the (scary) woods! This was my Stellas secondary vet but decided to rush her here as it was closer to my office, best decision I made and I will be switching to make this her primary from here on out.Very grateful for the love they showed my girl and for them understanding how important she is to me.

They truly deeply care about animals and owners feelings as well.Dr.Smith is certainly the Dr I will always refer all the animal owner to.I took my cat during high volume of COVID-19.So it’s just drop off basis but it was very smooth they meet me at door in seconds, the wait can be horrendous and very stressful specially due to COVID all owners are just dropping off so waiting out said so as the pets as well...I have taking my cat there only twice but I truly think they are the one of most trustful, caring warmest support you could possibly get.Thank you so much all your wonderful work during such a stress time and circumstances.

My cats have had great care here (including surgery for bladder stones), and the vets are immensely respectful of owners in terms of explaining everything thoroughly and not dumbing it down. Also, their response to pet loss is not rote. My only complaint is that its expensive, but so are all good vets nowadays. Having a pet is a luxury, and one is charged for it accordingly.

My little dog Doug, swallowed some chocolate and even though it was near 7PM they saw us. Carlisle, the receptionist, was wonderful when I called, giving me the poison control center and checking with Dr Sara LoPresti who said to bring him right in. She explained everything to me and induced vomiting, hydrated Doug, took bloodwork, and spoke to the Poison Control vet. The whole staff was wonderful calming me down and reassuring me. Everything turned out well and the next day Dr. LoPresti called me to tell me the lab work was all good. I cant praise them enough for their competence, efficiency and kindness. The hospital has great service, they do their exams and treatment quickly and professionally, and they keep my pup at ease better than other vets I’ve been to—not to mention handle my own increasingly anxious concern for my pup’s health and the million questions I ask.

I truly wish I’d found Dr Elliot a little sooner!She is tremendously compassionate and honest. My cat was very close to end of life and many holistic vets refused to see her because of this. She passed and even after a necropsy at AMC there is still no answer why. In the few visits we had I know that my cat felt relief due to her visits with Dr Elliot and I think it was the Chiropractic care she was given. I felt relief too as Dr Elliots follow ups were so heartfelt.It must have been a hard to decision to take her on and I’m grateful. I would highly recommend her in dire or basics need for your pet.

I can’t recommend West Village Vet Hospital enough. Not only were they able to see my dog on very short notice, they provided extreme care and a thorough review of his symptoms, and provided comprehensive treatment. This was followed up the day after the appointment, with one of the vet’s calling to check in on how he was doing. Thankfully he was doing very well due to how well he was treated. Wonderful care.

My 20 year old Siamese was very ill on Wednesday night but I was reluctant to take her to the emergency vet in the middle of the night because that is so stressful for her. I called West Village at 4:30 AM and someone answered (I fully expected a recording) and gave me an appointment first thing in the morning! I took her in and they were wonderful, I had been there some years back and also had an excellent experience but have been using a housecall vet. They communicated with me every step of the way so even though the appointments are drop -off only, I felt connected. Dr. Hildebrand was kind, called me back, patiently answered my many questions and I felt she really cared. I would definitely recommend them.

Dr. Smith and Dr. Hildenbrand are extremely knowledgable and kind. We see Dr Smith a ton and he is really patient with crazy parents like me who need to make sure the kids are healthy. Lily, Tamara and Michelle at the desk are super helpful especially with emergency visits. I can’t say more than trust WVVH with your kids.

I absolutely adore the staff here. We have been coming to wvvh for the past year, when our 13 year old dog fell very ill with stage 4 kidney disease. With the incredible care and guidance from the staff here, I am excited to share that one year later his health has improved to a solid stage 2 kidney disease!!! Over the past year, despite being seen by various vets and VA’s at the practice, I have felt that they were all well informed of Chip’s condition and gave consistent support, never missing a beat. I also appreciate that they provide medical boarding which is crucial for our dogs care while we’ve traveled. Chip is actually excited to go to the vet when we drop him off for check ups! We are so so grateful for the peace of mind and excellent care wvvh has provided our family 🤍🤍

My husband and I are new dog parents, and I am very quick to worry about every little scab, rash, sniffle, and change of behavior that happens with our dog. In other words, I call West Village Vet Hospital a lot... and every time I call, the staff and vets are patient in listening to whats going on, understanding of my concern, and take time to talk it through with me. The vet we see in particular is Dr. Smith, and he is great at talking through options for any issues that may need to be treated. Also, the vets within the practice really work together to make sure we get a response in a timely manner-- so even if Dr. Smith isnt on that day, another vet will get back to us and discuss whats going on. Highly recommend!

We have been going to W.V. Vet with our labrador retriever for the past two years and we have loved it! The entire staff is so helpful and warm - and also knowledgable. They also do an excellent job of keeping our dog (and us!) calm no matter what is going on. My first experience at West Village Vet Hospital was with holistic Dr Jill Elliott.When I contacted the office to make the appointment, I spoke to Lily . Who was wonderful, kind and very helpful. I feel like the first experience with any front desk is almost as important as the visit with the doctor herself. It sets the tone, for what the experience will be.I knew I made the right choice before setting foot at the office.Dr Jill Elliott was very knowledgeable with homeopathy ,answered all my questions and concerns .Then this week it was time to neuter my kitty.The surgery was scheduled with Dr Joanna Rosen ( Dr Elliott doesn’t perform surgeries ). I had never met her before. I was a nervous because only one of his testicules had descended, so it was set to be a little bit more invasive than a standard neuter.First I met Natalie the vet tech, who was really nice and welcoming and took his weight . Then Dr Rosen arrived , greeting us with a huge smile and gushing at how cute my kitten was. She was VERY patient, I had tons of questions and addressed all my concerns.Leaving the office I was reassured my cat was in good hands with Natalie and Dr Rosen. Everyone at the front desk was really nice and Lily was there as well to greet me .Once the surgery was over Dr Rosen called me. My cat was extremely lucky, thanks to Dr Rosen he didn’t need that more serious surgery with general anesthesia and loads of stitches. She somehow managed to push down the testicule and was able to perform a regular neuter. Not only did it reduced the stress and recovery time for my kitten but it also saved me a lot of money!I had contacted other vets for a cryptorchid neuter and I received 2 quotes, 2 to 3 times the price that Dr Rosen had quoted me; since she managed to perform a standard neuter it was even cheaper than her initial quote!Not only is West Village Vet Hospital professional, clean and kind but also honest and affordable ( which I’m sorry to say is not very common).I couldn’t recommend them more.It takes me at least 45min to get to their office but I am willing to go there because I know that when I go , my pets will be given the uttermost care!( I’ve had cats for the past 19 years, have lived in many different states and continents ! And I have to say they are at top of my list for the best vets ! If I could give them 6 stars I would )

Truly caring, compassionate and helpful veterinarians, assistants and desk staff. My pets have been under their care for many years. My only quibble is the turnover among the veterinarians. There was just one veterinarian I saw twice before she moved on. The others just once. Nonetheless I wouldnt think of taking my pets anywhere else.UPDATE: A happy client of WVVH recently referred me to Dr. Hildenbrand re. problems with my elderly cat. I am so pleased with this veterinarian--her knowledge, her careful diagnosis, her follow up, her bedside manner with kitty and parent. I so hope she stays with this practice.

There are no words to describe how amazing Dr. OByrne is as a person, a veterinarian and a hospital administrator. Both of my dogs have gone to WVW since birth, I have recommended it to everyone I know and they thank me. Dr. OByrne runs a tight ship and only has the best nurses and staff. I had a dog who lived to almost 16 when WVW said Id be lucky if he made it to 8. Her vigilance in proactively identifying and treating three major diseases including cancer were extraordinary. She always told it to me straight, she believed hed pull through and he did each time and died of natural causes. When we agreed that being at the hospital made him anxious as hed spent so much time there, she agreed when it came to putting him down (and he was seizuring and it was a holiday weekend) she came to my house and we cried together. She is the first to escalate a case if Blue Pearl is needed and shell tell you just who to do the surgery. She is an excellent dentist and the kindest and most pragmatic of doctors. It may cost more though if you want the best care, it is the best place to get it. Also, having spent many a night in the ICU, it is spotlessly clean and everyone truly loves and is attentive to patients. I would trust her and her staff with any medical situation. Tammy Sachs

I have been to several vets in Manhattan and I would day this place is my favorite. they are a bit corporate, but in this case, it works to your advantage, they are friendly and caring, they dont try to sell you on stuff you dont need. The prices here are competitive with other vets in the area, and I can almost always get an appt same day or close. My vet there helped me to save money on Winnies allergy meds by suggesting a liquid formula..I appreciated the info and it was cheaper (Atopica) In the end it was more work, so I went back to capsules (pure laziness) But thats how nice she was!

Hands down the best vet Ive ever worked with. They are extremely proactive in making recommendation -- most recently they recommended a specific surgeon at a different clinic that they believed would do the best work, and they were proactive in catching that I needed a USDA certification in traveling abroad. That latter one I had no idea about and would have been in big trouble if they hadnt caught that on my behalf! Even the staff is exceptional, following up right away when I ask for updated records, or a digital invoice emailed, or a call from a doctor. I even moved uptown, tried out a new vet for a while, and decided it was worth taking the subway downtown to give my furbabies the best care possible! Keep it up, team!

I recently started bringing my Great Dane to the West Village Veterinary Hospital and couldnt be happier. The staff is so helpful, knowledgeable and patient. The doctors are caring and professional. Dr.Smith has been especially amazing ! He managed to get a tenacious infection my pup got on his elbows to improve after previous vets couldn’t. I feel the staff cares as much about my dog and his well being as I do. Highly recommend!

Sent Dr Jill an email about my cat and quickly answered my email! We set up an sppointment for the next day and contacted the office, paperwork sent within 15 minutes.Amazing!Met with vet over zoom. Spent a lot time listening to me and my concerns and then discussed options for treatment.Also say I could email her anytime !Again, office was quick to contact me about treatment, shipping and things.Very happy. Now waiting to start the treatment on my cat!
